A Nightmare on My Skin
I came across this fragrance through several sources. What hooked me was the remark that it is supposed to smell like raspberry and chocolate. Of course, I checked the fragrance pyramid first and had my fears about the orange blossom... yes, yes, I know, the same story again ;) I had to tell my perfume junkies immediately, and as always, they were quicker than I was with the testing. The enthusiasm was very high, and so it came along with my last online purchase. It arrived today. In the cap, it smelled soft and slightly stale to my nose, but I didn’t want to give up and tested it on my skin, which I bitterly regretted. I gave it a couple of minutes and smelled it for the first time. What developed on my skin smelled like a very old woman who hadn’t washed for about a week, like mold, patchouli, and sweat!!! It wasn’t fresh sweat, but that of a body that hadn’t been washed for days! This is just my personal perception and is not meant to offend anyone or suggest that they don’t wash; this association just comes to mind first when I smell it. I know I could have waited longer to see how it developed, but since I didn’t really like it in the cap anyway and it developed so terribly on my skin, it had to go and was scrubbed off, as it wouldn’t come off normally.
But I am happy for all the people who love it and can wear it well without it turning into a nightmare on their skin :)
