Birthday Greetings to Vienna
Today is my school friend Gebby's birthday, and I will wear a special fragrance for her special day.

I have made this ritual a habit by now.
She won't be able to smell the fragrance all the way to Vienna, but I will tell her about it on the phone.

I chose Mon Amour because we have experienced and endured some loves side by side.
Sometimes life was rosy, sometimes dark gray.
In between, there were other shades.

We will laugh a little, be a little sad, and shake our heads a bit.
But we have always dared to take risks.

And the fragrance is just as nuanced.
The opening is fruity and cheerful, wrapped in spicy cinnamon.
The heliotrope shifts in color, and the rose joins in full and romantic.
Mysteriously sensual, the iris is dusted, and the leather note appears erotic.
Caramel and chocolate seductively embrace, topped with sweet vanilla.
Earthy vetiver adds a touch of sentiment.

A multifaceted fragrance, with desire and a hint of frustration, as twisty as love itself.

We will have so much to talk about - accompanied by the eloquent Mon Amour.

The Medicine for "Karlsson on the Roof"
After a long heatwave, it has finally cooled down in my homeland of Upper Franconia, and it is raining incessantly - nature really needs it! For this cool late summer evening in my Monday card game, I chose "Mon Amour" today. In the heat of high summer, the gourmand scent would have been too rich for me, but it has a slightly summery quality due to the raspberry note, so I didn't want to save it for the really cold days of autumn and winter.
My two predecessors, Water Lily and Mermaid, have already described the scent very aptly!
It was perfect for today! All evening, I had a pleasant sweet (but not TOO sweet) whiff in my nose, a little like a powdered mixture of various candies.
And that reminded me of a scene from the children's film series "Karlsson on the Roof" from the 70s. It is based on a story by Astrid Lindgren. The rather lonely boy Lillebror meets a mythical creature in the form of an older, somewhat chubby, and very quirky boy who lives in a little room on a rooftop. This Karlsson has a propeller on his back and can fly over the rooftops with it. With him, Lillebror experiences quite a few adventures.
One day, the somewhat self-serving Karlsson pretends to be "sick" and asks Lillebror to get him medicine: a mixture of cream caramels, raspberry candies, licorice (okay, that's not in "Mon Amour"!) etc. Lillebror then has to grind this material into powder and administer the "bitter medicine" to Karlsson.
Yes, "Mon Amour" does smell a little like that! I think it's lovely! But you should like sweets to appreciate "Mon Amour" well....

Like Love
"Mon Amour" is a surprisingly diverse, beautifully pleasing gourmand fragrance. It has its own unique character and yet feels familiar to me. Until now, I was not acquainted with any scent from F. Haldimann. I also did not intend to comment on it. However, I have made it a point to review every unreviewed fragrance I test. With a certain superficiality, I initially rated the scent with a few percentages because it seemed nice but expressionless to me. However, after a while, I smelled a successful blend of spiciness paired with sweet fruits and a lovely creaminess. A delicate floral note emerged and, as it often is with love, a bitterness mixed in. Then I detected noble woods. Furthermore, a dark yet promising green joined in: the hope that also belongs to love. As the fragrance unfolds more and more sillage, it becomes even more gourmand, a wonderful mousse of fruits, bitter-sweet caramel, vanilla, cream, sprinkled with bitter chocolate and almond flakes. The bitterness transforms into that of bitter almonds and intensifies, preventing the mousse "Mon Amour" from collapsing into an expressionless sweet mush.
When I then read the price suggestions here, I raised the rating to 100 %.
After waking up, there was still this slightly sweet, green, and noble woody almond bitterness present, with very fine hints of fruitiness and cinnamon.
So the longevity is very good. The sillage is fine, relatively close to the body, and not too strong.
This morning, I applied the fragrance again for testing, and I find it even more enchanting. Everything I noted yesterday is even more pronounced. "Mon Amour" exerts a hidden attraction on me.

Successful, finely shifting, high-quality fruit gourmand. Sweet and 150% feminine, but not heavy or cloying, with a herbaceous green backbone.

Pink ruffled dress, braided pigtails, lollipop in mouth, jump rope, butterflies. Unfortunately, it annoys me. Raspberry-peach + cinnamon on vanilla cream.
