Honeyed flowers
Oh what a find this is! Without looking at the notes, I get delightful light pink flowers with honey-cream sauce drizzled on top. Powdery beauty with a distinct lipstick accord. Longevity is remarkable; at least 5 hours and counting. Projects minimally so one has to get close to be rewarded with its aroma. Guaranteed to smell different than anybody else and absolutely full bottle worthy for me!

Roses dipped in honey
Citrusy, acerbic beginning that takes a deep dive into a pool of honey sprinkled with rose petals. The honey isn`t viscous, no chance of drowning in a diabetic, saccharine liquid. It`s a soft, sweet caress that plays well on the floral notes. A slightly vintage vibe that is also unlike anything else I`ve sampled before. Appropriate for any season and more beautiful than the recent Houbigant Jardin selection. Amazing silage and longevity.

Beautiful creamy vintage vibes, but...
This conjures images of a sun-drenched vintage boudoir with a bouquet of pale pink and peach colored roses on the dresser in my mind. The frosted bottle would fit right in, so the packaging design is on point. Ultra feminine, pretty and optimistic.

Quelques Fleurs Royale showcases classic blend of rose, violet and jasmine that is blended with white musk in a very creamy way, like a thick white body cream. Not exactly Nivea, but something in that vein. Only after the scent has dried down, it turns into something more powdery. Hints of vanilla and honey-like beeswax sweeten the flowers. I love all of this, but the fragrance has a fault I can't live with: The beeswax is just too natural. I'm one of those unlucky people who sometimes get a dirty, urinuous note from honey and beeswax in perfume, and unfortunately I get a hint if that from time to time here, too. It's not much, I'm still perfectly able to enjoy the rest of the scent, the florals, the sweetness, the transition from creamy to powdery, even the very light sugared grapefruit note of the opening. But I'd feel self-conscious all day if I had to wear his out.

What a pity.
I think I enjoy the idea of Quelques Fleurs Royale more than the actual scent. It's a nice and interesting fragrance, but not exactly made for me. I wish it was. I'll keep my eyes open for something similar and recommend this to floral lovers who never had a problem with honeyed notes.

Royal with Cheese??
So, a new evening, a new comment. As usual… tell me, do I actually write too many comments? … no wait, better not tell me. I really write too much, don’t I? Oh no, I’m overdoing it here, everyone already hates me, waaaah! :( :(

But I can't let all the beautiful samples I get from you lovely people go to waste, can I?? On the other hand, I’m being indirectly forced by YOU to write so much because of the samples!! :D

Anyway, let’s get to a new fragrance,… once again… despite this heat… although you probably can’t stand me *SIGH* :DD

Now we have Houbigant's fragrance Quelques Fleurs Royale and I wish I hadn’t just watched Pulp Fiction again recently, so that the word Royal wouldn’t make me think of “Royal with Cheese,” which we Europeans say instead of “Quarter Pounder” in the burger joint :D
And NOW I actually feel like having a burger and such… but I often decide against it. Not because it would be unhealthy (pffftttt… I don’t even think about that :D), but because for about half the price of a meal with a larger burger and fries, I can get a huge and much more filling döner, or even a half chicken with fries!! And if anyone is wondering why I don’t cook myself: Are you crazy? In this heat, I can’t cook, especially not when the heat stays above 11 PM!!! Moreover, there’s less water in the sewers due to the heat, so the whole place here occasionally smells like one big pile of poop, booooooaah!!!! You have no idea how bad it is, especially when you want to ventilate the apartment late at night when it should be a bit cooler!!! Well, today the weather is rather pleasant, but the heat will surely return soon *grumble*

The only hot things made at home are simple but delicious sandwiches… or Nutella bread, or anything that doesn’t produce a greasy smell and wouldn’t heat up the apartment even more… :D
But enough rambling! Back to the fragrance!

The Fragrance:
The fragrance starts fresh and sweet with grapefruits and currants, giving off a slightly sweet-powdery scent, but is quickly replaced by strong jasmine, at least regarding the sweet notes.
Then there are roses and soft sandalwood, along with a few dabs of honey, which, as always, comes across sweetly delicious, but not as extremely spicy-heavy as in some other fragrances. Additionally, the honey can be perceived less and less quickly.
I like that the citrusy grapefruit can still be perceived quite a while in the heart note, even if it should lose a bit of intensity. But this keeps the fragrance quite fresh, besides, I love grapefruit as a scent note. Right now, I even think of Fanta with grapefruit because it’s available again in some supermarkets and I just got some recently. I think I’ll grab a pack (6 bottles) this weekend, no matter how unhealthy it actually is… as long as you don’t overdo it and I’m drifting off again… okay back to the fragrance.
I still smell Fanta… um, I meant grapefruit (he he) as well as sweet jasmine. The sandalwood becomes a bit stronger in the base but always stays in the background. Light amber comes in, and I find that this harmonizes well with the grapefruit, as both scent notes somehow have a “bright” radiance. However, the amber fades quickly and is gradually replaced by the rather “darker” musk, which, of course, smells just as wonderful.
In the end, as it should be :D, comes the vanilla, which gives off its powdery-sweet and, as always, very pleasant scent. It lingers for a while together with the musk (while all other scent notes have long faded), making the vanilla even seem a bit clean, which I find nice. Later on, however, you only smell the vanilla alone and just as usual.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is above average, so neither strong nor really weak. Quite okay for summer.
The longevity is good, which, as often, is mainly due to the vanilla, as it still lingers in the base while all other scent notes have long faded! Therefore, we’re looking at at least eight to ten hours here again.

The Bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical, pink, and made of milk glass (or whatever you call this semi-transparent glass!). It also looks like floral patterns have been incorporated into the bottle glass, which you can probably also feel tactilely. The cap is also cylindrical, gilded, and continues these floral patterns as a print. All in all, a very beautiful bottle.

So, I liked this fragrance. The beginning is nicely fresh, and as described, the fragrance still comes across fresh in the middle part due to the surprisingly long-lasting grapefruit. Over time, however, the sweet notes become more intense, so for me, the fragrance is not a pure summer scent (due to the vanilla at the end, I think it’s quite unsuitable for the really hot days we are currently experiencing!), but it could also be used in autumn alongside spring.

It fits well as an everyday scent for leisure, work, going out (and smelling sweet and lovely :) or even for… writing comments? Okay, maybe less for writing comments since you should focus on the respective fragrance you’re describing. But reading comments should be fine! He he :DD

In any case, it’s a fragrance that should definitely be tried. Because as I said, I think it smells very nice!

Trimmed and Sweetened
ET sent me a fragrance sample ages ago. Thank you, my dear, even if it's late.
I have taken out the sample time and again, and each time I was unsure how I feel about the scent and, above all, how to describe it.
The Quelques Fleurs Original is a very balanced classic, almost old-fashioned, but a clear, floral, noble thing.
This Royale counterpart confuses me. It is well made, no question, but somehow it annoys me a little. It all seems too deliberately modern.
You can pretty much forget about the grouping of the notes. My first impression each time was "musk-sweet." Here I agree with ET, it reminds me of a sweet drink, somehow familiar. I find it hard, as with the original, to explicitly identify individual fragrance notes. The flowers complement each other nicely, although the tuberose is a bit temperamental and keeps trying to take the lead; I can't identify the rose either. Grapefruit may be responsible for the slight bitterness, while the pleasant freshness of bergamot does not come through on my skin.
And beneath it all, this (which I do not particularly appreciate) white musk note swirls around. In the end, amber really doesn't have a chance to join in. The tuberose allies itself with the white musk stuff. The two have found each other and now annoy together in the drydown, making you glad when they finally disappear on the horizon. It is quite clear that there is an attempt to appear modern, to capture the spirit of the times, to partake in the trend of orientals. This succeeds, but narrowly skirting the edge of the ordinary.
Don't get me wrong, the quality is definitely noticeable, which is why I give it 70%. But my nose simply doesn't like musk in this concentration, and certainly not in combination with tuberose.

Starts citrusy-fruity, then becomes warm-floral-creamy, and eventually feels close to the skin, like a creamy-sweet body lotion for me..

Actually a sacrilege to breed a sugary sweet counterpart from the Chypre scent QF, but at least: There are worse things!

While I found Quelques Fleurs L'Original already too floral, they've now added a lot of sweetness to the base to match the current trend.

The royals love opulent, powdery flowers with grape sugar sweetness. For me, despite the bitter fruits, it's too much. In the DD woody body lotion. For Ascot.

How beautiful! Initially gourmand, white honey, YES! Then later floral-balsamic and sugary, but softer, warmer. Really amazing!
