Another Lattafa that gets a review from me. The Caprice from the Al Nashama series. This small series consists of two fragrances. The other
Al Nashama is supposed to go in the direction of the Paragon. This blue Caprice flanker is supposed to be a dupe for
La Nuit de L'Homme Bleu Électrique. I bought this Caprice a few months ago, I haven't (yet) tested the normal one. For fans of Bleu Electrique, this is definitely a great alternative, especially as it was sadly discontinued despite the hype.
The thing with La Nuit de la L'Homme is a tragedy anyway. The original is a shadow of its former self and the good flankers have all disappeared. There are still a lot of leftovers in my collection, but anyone who wants to buy one of this series now will have to dig deep into their pockets or cut back. Or get this Lattafa, which is already available for less than €30 per 100ml. The details may not be 1:1, but this fragrance offers acceptable quality.
The bottles and packaging take some getting used to. Rather ugly, but it serves its purpose. The packaging has a very strange size and the lid also takes some getting used to. The bottle itself is reasonably good. Lattafa sometimes seems a little over-motivated with the bottles. Be that as it may, the fragrances are great for the price.
When you spray on the fragrance, you immediately realize where the journey is going, namely to
La Nuit de L'Homme Bleu Électrique. The LNDLL DNA is immediately present, clearly in the direction of the BE flanker. The fragrance goes in this sweet-spicy direction with this slightly blue freshness in the background. The fact that this is a clone of this bestseller can also be clearly seen in the pyramid, where a great many notes overlap. Kradamom and fresh lavender, which is what makes this fragrance so special, play the leading role. There are also some citrusy notes, rose geranium, ginger, vetiver and cedarwood. What is missing in both pyramids is a sweet component, which is clearly present in both. A sweetness that is not too sticky, gourmand or even wintry. Rather, a sweet spiciness that can be worn all year round, even on mild summer days.
In a 1:1 comparison, the YSL clearly wins in my eyes, as it simply looks more coordinated and sophisticated. But this Lattafa doesn't need to hide at all, especially in this price range. I find the top note a little overloaded and much more synthetic. There is a slight hairspray note. After about 1 hour, the fragrance gets better and you get a great alternative. A beautiful sweet cardamom-lavender combination that is never too much and already has crowdpleaser potential. The base is also round and soft with a delicate woody sweetness.
Performance is about the same as the YSL. It lasts a minimum of 8 hours with medium to good sillage. Satisfying and also very suitable for everyday wear.
A great fragrance for those on a budget. It is also worth buying for those on a budget and as an alternative to YSL. It loses the duel, but since this YSL is no longer available, this is a great thing.
