Synthetic oud is a big hurdle for me.
I generally have difficulties with oud notes, but I completely reject them in this artificial form.
Unfortunately, it is precisely this kind of synthetic oud that characterizes Maahir.
The opening is dominated by rose, saffron and immediately by the aforementioned oud note.
The oud note reminds me of the oud from
Shaghaf Oud Eau de Parfum, although it is a little less synthetic and slightly more animalic in Maahir.
Generally speaking, the start, like the fragrance as a whole, is not suitable for the masses.
The oud continues to completely dominate the DD.
The rose, which does not really smell authentic, recedes somewhat into the background.
The saffron continues to provide the oriental spice in DD, which should appeal to lovers of this fragrance.
At its core, Maahir remains a spicy, synthetic oud fragrance accompanied by an artificial, oriental rose.
Amber and vanilla lend it warmth and a slight sweetness.
The fragrance cannot be described as overtly sweet, but it does have an underlying sweetness.
On the other hand, I can't complain about the performance.
This fragrance sticks to you like chewing gum to a shoe.
The sillage is also more than respectable, it may not fill the room, but it still makes you stand out.
The fragrance is unisex, but tends more towards the masculine side (M60%/40%W).
Definitely not for me.
If you like the
Shaghaf Oud Eau de Parfum, you will certainly like this one too.
It may have its own accents, but it undoubtedly belongs in the Shaghaf Oud family.
Since this direction just isn't for me, I'll pass here.
