A softly rinsed fruit dream

To my surprise, I got a lot of praise from my best friend at work today for the Musk Sugar Plum. This is a truly beautiful fragrance but in my eyes definitely not unisex but very feminine. The longevity is successful at around 8 hours and the sillage is in the medium range.

The top note starts off very fruity, gourmand and sweet thanks to strawberries, plums and a little peach. The heart note remains fruity and sweet with creamy, powdery notes. Fabric softener makes its presence felt and creates a subtle soapiness. Floral aromas of iris and violet also resonate here. The base remains sweet with amber, vanilla blossom and a little candied sugar.

The bottle is a real eye-catcher and it doesn't just smell like fabric softener, the liquid looks like it too. Many thanks to Jana for the great gift :-)

Sweet sugar plum with a flaw

Just like the name says: Musk and ripe, sugared plums. A little vanilla can be found in this, too. It's sweet and juicy, warm but also fresh. The sparkling, candied nature of this scent makes me think of plums coated with tiny grains of sugar, which in turn remind me of snow, so the scent has a wintery feel to me. The final drydown is less fruity, more vanillic and musky, but there is still some plum clinging to it.

This is simple and cute, but there is one major downside to it: When I sniff my skin closely I get a bitter undertone, almost like gasoline, that disturbs the sweetness. Honestly, it's so subtle that I still like it, but I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it, this note cheapens the impression of the whole scent.
Too bad, I find the presentation with the milky liquid quite fun and I like the idea of a sugared plum perfume.
