Reference Orange Blossom

This is a reference orange blossom scent. Extremely high quality. Not much going on, but the notes that are there are executed at a very high level. You get the cinnamon for sure, a nice touch that adds a spicy edge. The longevity of this fragrance was surprising to me. Being mostly orange blossom I expected a lighter wear, but no. I easily got about 7 hours, maybe 8, of enjoyable wear. Comes off as a dense orange blossom cloud. Highly recommend!

Headache-inducing floral

An intense white floral and orange blossom explosion. The purpose of this must be to highlight the petitgrain, which is does, but it is so floral, so lacking in some darker ingredient to offset this, that it becomes both wearing and a little nauseating. There's a very mild dusting of cinnamon in there, but it's barely detectable, so it doesn’t do what I imagine it is supposed to do, which is offset that shrill white note.

It becomes more tolerable in the drydown, but I still can't say I like it much.

Antoine Lie's created some of my very favourite fragrances, but this one's a real miss for me.

Keep it simple (and elegant)

Oranger Sirocco is composed of orange blossom and orange with a hint of cinnamon. Nothing more, nothing less, it is linear and simple, but each component is high quality. It's more floral than fruity, and the spiciness is subtle and well done. I don't often like a cinnamon note since it can come off synthetic like cheap potpourri deodorizer for me. Not so here! The cinnamon is natural and comes alive in the drydown. It might be worth noting--since the combination of orange and cinnamon makes me think of Christmas--that this is more of a fresh warm weather scent and not at all Christmasy.
