Cuir de Havane
The opening bursts with rum and fruit, transitioning into a very perceptible (dry) cocoa and tobacco note with a smoky/ashy finish.
Leather hovers throughout, hieratic, but never becomes the absolute protagonist, like the other notes are constantly emerging and fading. The vanilla idem, isn't particularly animalic; the notes are very well balanced. I find for a Russian leather fragrance, it lacks a greater prominence of the floral and animalic notes.
More towards dry/powdery than sweet.
A great flanker and a very well-made perfume: potent and powerful while always remaining balanced and elegant.
