A beautiful green-woody scent
I really enjoyed "Betula | Olfactive Pharmacy." Surprisingly, the performance on my skin was significantly better than for most other Parfumo users. The longevity on my skin is incredibly strong, lasting nearly a whole day with a successful sillage.

The top note starts green, citrusy, and refreshing with aromas of bergamot, violet leaves, lemon zest, a deciduous forest, fig leaves, and birch water. The heart note then shifts into a woody-resinous direction with a floral undertone, featuring cedarwood, rose water, oak wood, jasmine flowers, arnica, and sandalwood. The base remains woody with balsamic and spicy hints of amber, benzoin, vetiver, and a touch of musk.

Even though I didn't expect it based on the fragrance pyramid, Betula was a pleasant surprise for me. I thank Nick for the sample.

The Perfect Everyday Companion - Spring Birch
What is a perfect everyday companion, or what makes one such?
I think everyone has different expectations, especially when it comes to scent.
So why does the “Betula” comment bear the title “The Perfect Everyday Companion”?

First, let's start with the core of the brand.
Olfactive Pharmacy is new to the perfume market. It is an indie brand founded by two pharmacists in Cologne. The fragrances focus on the theme of medicinal plants. This means:
The scents are based on plants, barks, flowers, etc. that are valued in the pharmacist's craft for their healing properties. The first collection currently includes 3 of these medicinal plants: “Birch, Linden Blossom & Sage”. Each fragrance thus places a primary focus on one of these plants. The bottles are styled after old apothecary bottles. I find the design of these bottles stunning, especially when you hold them in your hand. They feel high-quality, are heavy, and crafted with love. You can really sense the attention to detail from the two founders. For me, the Betula bottle is among the most beautiful bottles I have had the pleasure of holding so far.
But now back to the topic of scent and away from the brand excursion…

Betula is, as the Latin name suggests, a birch scent.
I personally am known to be a lover of “birch tar.” Especially when it is very pronounced. However, this is definitely not the case with Betula. The scent takes a completely different path; for me, this fragrance evokes total serenity.
I smell birch without birch tar, mixed with all sorts of fresh ingredients that come together to form a picture. Sometimes the freshness of lemon shines through, while at other moments it is fresh greenery that conjures up memories of fresh meadows or falling, juicy green leaves.
Why they are falling leaves, I can't even tell you. I find falling leaves relaxing.

In general, I think of this scent as a birch avenue in spring.
The leaves are deep green, the bark of the birches shines at me with its white/black contrast from afar. Sunbeams brush the leaves and illuminate the avenue, accompanied by a fine veil of morning dew.

Just the thought of the aforementioned birch avenue relaxes me, and that is exactly what this scent evokes in me. Relaxation, I feel comfortable, calm…

This scent does not seek to provoke; nevertheless, it is special.
When I now add the topic of “pharmacists creating a perfume brand,” along with the thought that the two gentlemen know what medicinal plants are and how something might presumably have a calming effect on someone…
The theme is perfectly captured. It almost has something of aromatherapy.

Now, back to the topic of the perfect everyday companion:

Actually, I have already written more than I wanted, so just briefly…

Why is Betula now my perfect everyday companion?!

When I stand in front of my collection in the morning and think: “What will you wear today?” and I can't decide quickly enough…
Then my hand automatically goes to Betula. With it, I can never go wrong. It surrounds me with its relaxed aura. My surroundings perceive it positively, and I also look forward to holding this brilliant bottle in my hand every time.

Light floral green summer scent.
Unfortunately, it reminds me a lot of birch hair water.

An ethereal green scent with citrus, woody, and floral notes, plus a slight medicinal undertone. It's certainly interesting,

Freshly showered, I wander in the rain through the herb and bitter-citrusy scented garden. Green freshness with a hint of spice.

The fragrance pharmacy: a new approach to scent: citrusy, medicinal herbal, bright resinous woody notes: exciting, but not easy.

Very fine. The herbal green and woody notes define the scent here, the rest serves to round it out. Does it smell like birch? No idea.
