Yes, you can wear Iris even in midsummer! ;-)
Aequalis starts citric and herbaceous through the rosemary, almost medical. Recently I did an experiment while roasting and added a few spritzes of lemon to the steak before going into the tube, besides the obligatory rosemary branch - a wonderful scent flowed through my kitchen!
Aequalis starts exactly like that. The rosemary dominates the lemon very quickly, however, and is still present in the fragrance for a long time. On an arm's length it smells very pleasant, although I am not used to it at first.
After about half an hour, the rosemary releases the first parts of the heart note, the scent becomes warmer, slightly more powdery. The still dominant rosemary, however, retains the upper hand and thus also keeps freshness high. So you can still wear the usual Iris-Tonka Duo very well at just over 30° C. The fragrance never tilts into the musty, the Tonka comes here rather herbsüß over and leads, the iris soon dominating, into the base note. In the end the scent sounds very close to woody-pea-sweet and pretty cozy.
Aequalis in a way follows the lead of the Eau des Baux, but more refined, subtle and fresh. Also the cypress scent of the latter was too much of a good thing for me. Aequalis seems to be finer, more distinguished.
