An unconventional top note and a truly great scent progression
Well, my miniature of Jaclyn Smith's California Eau de Cologne has truly surprised me. This clove top note is initially intense, but the progression is then very lovely. The longevity on my skin is around 8 hours for an Eau de Cologne, and the sillage is also quite good.
The top note exudes Christmas and oriental-spicy aromas from a very dominant clove, making me think of gingerbread as well. There’s also a significant sweetness from forest honey. This gives it a somewhat gourmand quality. In the heart note, this Christmas-oriental aroma transitions even more into sweetness, releasing scents of cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. Floral notes like rose water are also present here. The base then beautifully and sweetly scents of bourbon vanilla and a hint of amber.
This is a fragrance that gets better and more beautiful as it is applied. Quite exciting indeed!
