After a lousy start, a quite nice fragrance emerges after all
I seem to be on a wave of vintage fragrances and somehow it's totally fun for me to drift around a bit away from brand and niche fragrances. Sorry to all who have sent me so many bottlings but I have not forgotten you and will of course also test these little by little. Since I am currently times again sick and alone, offer themselves there in addition women's fragrances.
The Ruffles Esprit de Parfum I have once again in a collection of miniatures auctioned. This miniature was also full and has no smell of aging. Admittedly, the prelude was nevertheless rather off-putting. But in the end, a quite successful fragrance emerged. The durability is successful with about 7 hours, however, the whole thing smells very close to the skin after 3-4 hours. The sillage I would describe as rather restrained.
The top note I initially feel as very green, almost root-like and quite disturbing. In the background, I still recognize aldehydes and bergamot. The heart note then develops into a pleasant fragrance experience of floral sea and a beautiful soapiness. Here, garden carnations, lily of the valley, iris, jasmine flowers, violets, ylang-ylang, tuberose and rose water really come up trumps. The base smells vanilla, animalic, woody, subtly sweet, leathery, balsamic as well as resinous. Here you can recognize musk, cedar and sandalwood as well as civet. In the background I also sniff cloves. Honey and caramel I recognize but not.
What proves here at the beginning almost as dirty, inharmonious and green, becomes at the end to a soapy-floral "clean man / magic woman" fragrance. In the end, however, the miniature may like to lovers / on.
