Olympēa Flora Rabanne 2023

It definitely features peony, and in a good way. I would have guessed a little jasmine sambac because the florals are so smooth. There's a slight green edge (perhaps the patchouli?). There's also sweetness to it and a hint of vanilla. It grew on me as it developed, but it's ultimately a forgetable floral. The bottle is certainly pretty, but I don't think I'll ever feel the need to buy one.

Olympéa flankers are always good for a surprise. The original doesn't really work for me, but some of the variations are absolutely perfect. I don't see a clear link between them though, some have lots of Olympéa DNA and others could be completely independent standalone scents. Olympéa Flora belongs to the second category. I get none of the salty vanilla or clean white florals of the original at all! If anything, it would be closest to the other pink flanker, Olympéa Blossom, just even further away from the original than that one was. I like Flora better!

It starts out very juicy and honestly mouthwatering. The blackcurrant is so nicely done here! It really feels like the sensation of a berry bursting in your mouth, which is kind of ironic, as blackcurrants are rarely eaten raw. If you likely fruity, sweet scents with a touch of tartness, you will love the opening.

Unfortunately, the scent turns into a rosy fruitchouli quickly. It's not bad at all, but it feels like something I have smelled a thousand times before. I can't name an exact dupe, but there are plenty of those sweet berry-rose-vanilla-patch blends, and Olympéa Flora doesn't really stand out among them. Think about something along the line of the Armani Sì family and you're not too far off. Pink and black are definitely the right colors here.

This is a nice choice for those who like this kind of scent and don't have something similar already, but not a must-have for my collection. I still like to sample it when I see it in stores, the opening is just so refreshing.

I find the scent itself quite pleasant, however, it is too heavy for me; I would rather use it in the autumn as the pink pepper is relatively strong and it feels a bit overwhelming.

The bottle is super pretty, the decoration on it looks beautiful, and the longevity is really very good, lasting all day on the skin, sometimes even after a shower.

After receiving a sample of this fragrance, I had to make it mine right away. For me, it is the perfect blend of floral sweetness and freshness that fades into a light powdery finish.

At first, I notice the sweet berries, but the intensity of the berries fades after a few minutes and is accompanied by the (peony) rose. Shortly after, patchouli joins the fragrance composition. Because it is not too prominent and sharp, like in some other perfumes, it is very pleasant to smell in combination with the berries and the rose. I also don't really perceive any pepper or vanilla even after several hours, but that doesn't bother me.

The sillage and longevity are also better for me than in the reviews; the scent lasts all day on me and is still strongly perceived by others.

And I also really like the bottle with its delicate pink color and black leaves.
