Playboy Colours*

It’s exact original name was Playboy Colours.

It was last marketed with this name by Milton-Lloyd Ltd. in a time near 2009.
After the license was taken from Milton, they continued it’s distribution under the name America Colours. The design and the scent is the same, only the brand has changed.

It is currently avaible as America, and has a very affordable price(cca. 4€ a 50 ml bottle).

Playboy? Or Freshly Showered and Ready for Anything!

Let's go back to the year 1990,
Man, what a year that was for me! I had just started to stop wearing diapers, and I was enjoying the full attention of all my relatives, showered with great gifts like Matchbox cars and plastic tractors that had moving shovels, allowing me to move big piles of... well, anything lying around :D

What does all this have to do with Playboy? I guess quite a bit, because at that time, many of those relatives were at the age where you could indulge yourself on a tight budget by buying a cheap fragrance from the drugstore, which, to be fair, smelled better back then than many high-priced scents you can find today in the big M or D.

So, if you were out on the prowl during that time, you could get quite far with Playboy, sporting a well-groomed mullet and mustache, pants pulled up to your navel, a shirt, and a jacket; under the disco ball, you were unstoppable.

The so-called "newly" launched men's fragrance from Playboy just fit the era, and I'm sure I caught a whiff of it as a toddler. Nowadays, it can only be said: A typical 90s scent that certainly lived up to its name back then, starting with a citrusy opening that strongly, but not overpoweringly, accompanies the geranium and woody notes. Towards the end, it becomes more robust, yet it still retains a sweetness, and the floral notes remain present as well.
The longevity is unfortunately not very long, and the sillage is rather at arm's length, at least after an hour; then Playboy lingers quietly but for a long time, slowly bidding farewell to the skin with musk and tonka bean.

Anyone who finds 90s fragrances exciting is advised to at least snag a sample of this; it's a shame that it was discontinued, as it would surely have found its admirers today.
