Pina Meets Rock
I’m not particularly into the rock band musically, but the fragrances are worth noting lately. Last year, Diamant L'Eau Intense unexpectedly blew me away. Now I ventured into the new addition called Paris. I find it very successful, which I did not expect.
The opening with mint and lime is a bit metallic, but I don’t find it disturbing. Nutmeg and rose join in, and for me, it begins a harmonious play of ballet and rock. The rose is quite strong, which is emphasized by the mint and lime. It’s not ballet in the classical sense, but rather in the style of Pina Bausch. Now the nutmeg comes in, and that is rock for me. As it progresses, both dance harmoniously into a new form. In the dry down, patchouli and incense give a slightly melancholic kick. They modernize everything without coming off as cheap. I kept smelling my wrist, and sometimes I smelled rose with nutmeg, then rose with incense, and then nutmeg with patchouli. You can sense a hint of autumn, and I find it too intense for high summer. So, it’s quite a multifaceted fragrance that you can’t just put in the wishy-washy drawer. This modern dance where everything harmonizes for me lasts about 7 hours and is then close to the skin.
The bottle is once again a block, even though I find the design beautiful. I like the box even better.
