"1970" is fitting for this perfume, as I see it as the birth year of its customer base

It smells like the bitten Praline with vanilla and alcohol (vanilla liquor) , that sits on top of unbitten other pralines (chocolate) .
I personally would've preffered the chocolate note to be front row, followed by vanilla.
Sweetness gives it marshmallow vibes.
Someone described it as 'vanilla pudding' - also true. There's a really good liquid handsoap with vanilla and honey- smells exactly like this.
Bottle (glass) quality, cap is of ok plastic, but the tools used are not the best. Also, bottle cover/ wrapping scratches really easy- Thus I reduced the score.
Yeah, no. Up for sale, and definitely not an above 8 score.

Comforting, creamy, not so sweet milk chocolate pudding

After many hard days, I need something comforting and easy, soft and enveloping.

The scent of 1970 is creamy pudding like milk chocolate which is cozy, hazy, opulent and not too sweet, sugary nor generic. As the scent evolves it becomes delicately powdery, a bit like a powder mix of Cocoa and Vanilla. This is very unique gourmand, not so elegant like gourmands rarely are but amazing regardless. For me this a scent to wear at home or at the cottage under the blanket and next to the fireplace. I wouldn’t wear this at work. Even if it reminds me of milk chocolate pudding, it’s rather a thick texture and how I feel, I don’t think that I would like to eat it though. That’s why I think that this is not juvenile at all, it’s a mature gourmand.

I have seen reviews where people are complaining about the aroma which is like a mix of Curry and Cumin but luckily on my skin the spices don’t perform in that kind of way at all. The fruity nuance is almost non-existent and the earthy and woody notes restrain the development of the scent into something clearly edible. Amber is also crucial note to ensure that the scent is not too sweet and syrupy. The base is a collection of notes that blend seamlessly together. Sometimes you get the feeling that it’s even too easy and because of that, the scent may lose interest for some. However, because of that 1970 is so perfect when you feel exhausted or stressed.

This perfume is very long lasting on my skin, aroumd 10-12 hours. Mostly I wear this during the evening at home and I can still smell it on my skin in the morning.

Quite a bumpy start followed by a great sweet depth

The 1970: Tonka, Expansion, Glamour is a really great gourmand overall, which has something special about it.
It has a special depth, is elegant and simply smells good. Difficult to describe more precisely.

However, there is one thing that really bothers me and that would be the opening or the top note in general. Let's move on to the course of the fragrance..

The fragrance gets off to a difficult start. Initially, citric and fruity elements come into play. But the whole thing immediately has this spicy and slightly earthy background.
This mix seems somehow unrounded to me and just smells strange.
I even somehow, for whatever reason, had associations with cucumber water/pickled cucumbers.
That sounds very strange and yes, it is. My girlfriend, for example, doesn't see it that way at all, but my nose just goes crazy with this top note.
I've been testing this fragrance back and forth for a long time, but I keep getting the same vibes :D

Over time, after about 15-20 minutes for me, the fragrance becomes much more pleasant. The citric elements are gone and the fragrance gains more and more warm spices, pleasant earthy notes and chocolaty impressions. The fragrance gradually gains a certain depth here.
It smells simply great, serious and elegant.

It then becomes pleasantly woody, more vanilla, the tonka bean enters and towards the end we have this musk-amber mix. Although amber is already making its rounds here shortly beforehand and is totally elegant.

The performance is quite good.
It lasts for 8 hours on me and the sillage is also okay, although somewhat weaker than the longevity itself.

Unfortunately, I can't give more than 8 points for the DNA due to the top note.
I had even considered giving it 7.5 due to the top note, which I don't like at all.
However, due to the progression of the fragrance, it ended up being an 8 because it just gets so super nice over time.

Quite noble chocolate dream

Since I love the Rosendo Mateu N. 5, I was really curious about the way in which here now the tonka bean was processed and whether the musk generally acts similarly.
N. 5 is definitely a whole corner more oriental and much more vanilla-heavy. He is also in its sillage more dominant than the 1970, which is why I find him more portable despite also extreme durability.
And the fragrance itself... It opens with an insanely elegant dark chocolate note that is authentic and artfully entwined by spices and caramel, so that the impression seems neither too dry nor too sweet.
In the head, this mixes with a strongly perceptible citrus, which, however, does not bite, but gives the flair a pleasant effervescence. The combination also seemed unexpectedly intriguing to me, although I'm actually not a fan of citrusy notes.
In the heart already faded then join more the spices and earthy notes, the tonka bean becomes more dominant and the fragrance just seems incredibly creamy and well-tuned. Through the darkness of the chocolate note I get an elegant and somehow mature impression, which is why the vibe already resembles that of the N. 5. And the musk is clearly attributable to the house, not quite as sultry, but more like a soft, embracing carpet pad to the whole thing.
All in all, a really delicious unisex gourmand, perfect for cold days. I imagine a person who radiates warmth and cordiality, but at the same time a little intimidating and unknowingly imposing by its maturity of character.
I also find it super that the fragrance has not become a simple variation of the bestseller N. 5, but somehow in similar realms takes its own direction.
Even the flacon convinces with its weight and the solid gold rim in every respect. In my opinion, a must try for every Gourmandlover and potentially likeable for fans of the N. 5!
