Icy lips
I was suggested this fragrance by a sales assistant as being similar to Noa Perle by Cacharel which I was also trying at the time.

The two fragrances are indeed similar with their opening top notes, however I much prefer Noa Perle in the drydown.

Eau De Rubylips is a very Summery fragrance with a citrusy and sour opening of grapefruit and a heart of pineapple and magnolia. I don't like grapefruit at the best of times, neither the smell or taste, however it wasn't too badly presented in this fragrance. Pineapple is another note that I usually detest in fragrances, yet the magnolia made the pineapple note softer and more balanced.

I'll be honest and say that this fragrance will never appeal to me, however for lovers of fruity florals and fragrances like Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana and Baby Doll by YSL, this fragrance could be the one for you.

The lasting power is pretty average, I never got to the base notes because the fragrance had disappeared before then.

Is it art?
When you hear the name "Salvador Dalí," you automatically associate his name with the art of surrealism, fascinating images, drawings, and film sequences, in formats ranging from tiny to grand and often in the brightest colors.
It is well known that Dali loved floral scents. Since early childhood, Dali had been engaged with his sense of smell. As a young man, he had developed the habit of adorning himself with fragrant flowers behind his ear. Scented pomades gave his jet-black hair a dandy appearance.

During the holiday season in his hometown of Cadaqués, he exchanged the floral-scented pomade for a self-made mixture of resins, which he used to style his hair. Additionally, he would place a geranium or jasmine sprig behind one ear. Equipped this way, he painted his first masterpieces in oil, inspired by the landscape around Cadaqués. Always surrounded by a cloud of balsamic resin and floral scent... Yes, Dali loved fragrant things. It is not widely known, but he even had a decades-long friendship with Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli.

Eau de Rubylips is also surreal. The name evokes something red, sensual, passionate. And then this bottle is light blue, delicate, and filigree. The play of light between the light blue fragrance and the translucent glass reflects the subtle notes of Eau de Rubylips. On the lighter side, 5 Dali lips are embossed. Inspired by Salvador Dali's Ruby Lips brooch. A symbol of femininity.

My expectation upon spraying was completely different from what I received. However, this is not meant negatively. Eau de Rubylips is as light as a summer rain that washes away the heat and makes the air shimmer with cheerful, green sprinkles.
The airy white notes of cotton blossoms and lily of the valley combined with the dreamily beautiful magnolia bloom are very tender.
Golden citrus fruits, such as grapefruit and pineapple, shine with strong intensity and enchant with lasting endurance.
Green leaves bring freshness, and the cedar branches combined with amber and musk ground and strengthen. The fragrance evokes a feeling of calm and tenderness.

Yes, the scent has nothing ruby red about it. The color of the bottle is appropriately chosen. It is certainly not a symbol of femininity. But it is a wonderfully fruity, floral mood enhancer. Delicate, soft, lightly sweet. It bears a certain resemblance to Light Blue Eau de Toilette and is a bargain to boot. Longevity and sillage are absolutely superb.
It is not necessarily art, the Eau de Rubylips (though that is always in the eye of the beholder), but for me, it definitely doesn't need to go away.

Blue Lips Should Be Kissed
... because they are meant for kissing, tralalala! No, I haven't made a typo. An astonishingly fresh kiss from the master Dali. It's called Rubylips, but that's misleading. These are blue frozen lips, for example, from Leonardo de C. as he hangs in the icy Atlantic on the floating door, and Rose de Wipp... chattering her teeth, still manages to mumble a few words. (And she replies: Darling, if you go under, take the trash with you and the grapefruit you still have in your mouth.) This is how Eau de Blue Lips starts, pure grapefruit, nothing but grapefruit. An acquired taste! Different! Surreal!

Once you've digested that - Leonardo is long gone - it shifts to pineapple, which can also be quite bitter and biting. The magnolia is just a disguise, trying to comfort and feign innocence. But with Blue Lips, nothing is innocent. Dali never made innocent perfumes, and neither did his successors.

Finally, after hours, the base note. Rose de Wipp... (oh, please write down the name for me) whistles for help. Amber and musk rush in to save the day, and a cedar comes to the rescue, but the cedar prevents the scent from slipping into softness.

A strange aftertaste remains. Rough, cold little lips, creepy yet so beautiful. A fragrance (like all of Dali's) far from any mainstream.

I’ll press my ruby lips against these burst blue lips.

Pretty floral-fresh spring scent (definitely suitable for summer too), but it could have used a bit more intensity!
