Delicate or strong? Feather or whip?
Nooo, of course something fine, delicate ...

I received this little fragrance from Kleopatra and I am very grateful for it.

I like Dali - he has one or two scents that will always be in my collection. Just the bottles with the lips *küssküssküss*...

On my skin, this scent starts off fine, creamy, not at all as bitter as it has been described here. Occasionally, I catch a cheeky glimpse of what I would say is apricot and currant, which really gives this fragrance a lovely and fine summer scent note.

Lotus and water lily provide a feeling of purity and cleanliness, like after a fresh shower. Something clear, but not like bathwater, rather like a mountain lake.

I can't smell amber at all; it might develop better on different skin. But I'm glad about that because I don't want to smell any amber here.

I can absolutely recommend this fragrance when it's hot, when you're out and about during the day, when you want to feel fresh and moisturized, or simply want to feel good.
I've already been approached 3 times about what smells so wonderfully fine on me :)

The only small downside is that you would need to reapply if you want to smell it for longer than 4-5 hours.

Thank you dear Kleopatra for this little treasure.

No Bitter End
...but a bitter beginning hits you here with this Dali. Medusa has already described it excellently. I have never smelled something so persistently bitter before, it really is something special. Nevertheless, I don't like it, especially since it takes a long time for the brittle blackcurrants & kumquats to reluctantly make way for something milder.

The heart note is as delicate and fresh as it looms in the fragrance pyramid, slightly watery-floral and girlish; you can almost see the delicate nymph sitting by the shore of an enchanted lake. The closer the base gets, the softer the overall impression becomes, and it reconciles me a bit with the idiosyncratic opening. Only at certain corners does a bit of harsh blackcurrant suddenly flash out and annoy me.

The whole thing does indeed smell summery; yes, I can even understand the association with spicy sea freshness and sunshine. Because the pronounced blackcurrant has not only something bitter about it, but especially in the heart and base notes, when it reverberates, it has something salty to it.

An interesting fragrance, no question. However, for my personal taste, it is just too bitter. The longevity is moderate, the sillage, aside from the powerful top note, is rather discreet and not at all dali-esque eccentric.

Send me (no) kumquats from Cadaques
Dali fragrances are usually hard to describe, and this perfume has given me a lot of headaches. It was released when the great master had long been dead, and at first, when I tested it, I wondered if Dali would have turned in his grave or laughed about it, or turned in his grave laughing, whatever. Even the bottle is somehow spacey, as if the Dalinase is looking down on you from some spheres. Or is that supposed to be the Mediterranean?

So I set out on a quest, picking up the trail, so to speak, like Medusa Holms. What do the creators mean with this perfume, and what does it have to do with Cadaques, and where the hell is that? Well, Cadaques is located on the Costa Brava in Catalonia, and Dali spent a large part of his childhood there. Cadaques was an artists' village where many notable people worked, lived, or spent their holidays. When he got older, Dali built a house nearby in Port Lligat.
You might be asking yourselves: What does this have to do with the scent? Exactly, that’s the crux of the matter!
It seems that Michel Almirac wanted to capture Dali's childhood memories. Maybe they had a kumquat and apricot orchard or at least trees of those in the garden.

This is exactly how Sea & Sun starts. It feels like being almost drenched in bittersweet kumquats. An acquired taste, super strong! The apricot and the currant struggle to compete, but the bittersweet thread is continued by the currant.

I applied Sea & Sun again and again, because this kumquatorgy blocked my view of the heart note every time.

Well, with Dali’s, you have to be patient. And who doesn’t have that, if not me? At least when it comes to Dali’s. ;-)
But then finally, fresh flowers appear, very fresh flowers. Blue freesias and enchanting lotus.
I was reconciled. Goodness, why the full blast at the start?

Despite the musk, there can be no talk of powderiness in the base note, thanks to the resinous cedar.
Another tremendous Dali. Bittersweet, super fresh, extreme, and surreal.

Created for a hot party on the beach!

At first it's sharp, but after just a few minutes the scent develops beautifully. Delicate flowers with a woody base, sea breeze :-)

Very light and not long-lasting, but beautiful. I also smell lemon and green apple, but not amber; it reminds me of Light Blue.

Wonderful fruity refresher, but it should only be called a bodysplash or at most a cologne. ZERO longevity.

It resembles my favorite deodorant from Axe Mojito&Cedarwood and pairs very well with it! Longevity isn't great, but it's very refreshing!

A dreamily beautiful Dali. It starts off fruity and then becomes soft, aquatic-rosy-woody. Unfortunately, it triggers my asthma.

Fresh, cool, unisex, interesting, soothing, elegant: kumquat, water lilies, and freesias dipped in ozone with a touch of ice on top.
