The Lilac Berry.....
Sour berries in fragrances usually attract me. I quite like the scent of currants, blackberries, and raspberries, as long as they are not drowned in sugar, honey, or other sweet stuff. Purplelips, somehow I came across the seductive comment from Medusa some time ago, the blueberry lured me in and I remembered this little fragrance. I had no real memory of the scent of blueberries. More of the taste, since I don't like them. As a child, I once had to eat the ice cream with fresh blueberries on a Sunday - because of the poor children in Africa - and I wasn't allowed to get up until dessert was finished. Afterwards, I felt nauseous and threw up. A punishment for the parents had to be. And to this day, I don't touch blueberries.

So I sniffed at a basket of blueberries at the vegetable vendor, yeah, not bad. Purplelips then became one of those "add-on fragrances" one day due to the low price.

And indeed, Purplelips opens with juicy, slightly sweetened, fresh blueberry. The berries remain present throughout the entire fragrance journey, underlaid with lilac and a delicate violet. Amber is rather subdued for me, but I have a decent portion of sandalwood and musk in the base, the clean and neat kind.

Purplelips is more of a fruity scent for me than a floral one, nice for warm days, great price/performance, fairly good longevity, with moderate sillage. The bottle is handy and I would like it better if it had a different color, but of course it fits very well with the blueberry. And somehow I think Purplelips is more for the ladies, I always envision a bright purple lipstick with that name. What guy wears Purplelips?

Nothing is surrealistic.
I usually steer clear of fragrances inspired by certain surrealist painters. I expect a jumble of mixed ingredients that no normal person can recognize or enjoy. So, fragrances like their paintings.*gg*
I admit I'm a philistine and would prefer if artists like Michelangelo, Rubens, C.D. Friedrich, or unknown realistic landscape painters would lend their names to a fragrance.

But I was warmly presented with a sample here. Because of the lilac in it, of course.
At the moment, I'm still waiting for the lilac, but spring is already over.

Purplelips starts off quite purplish. In fact, somewhat lilac-blue, or blue-lilac with a nice red component.
The blueberry comes through very blueberry-like, and the passion fruit is also present in the top note, giving it a slightly exotic touch. I enjoy eating passion fruits, and blueberries too, when they are sweet. Here, everything together is very fruity and purple-like. Very ripe and almost a bit sweet. And I like it.

One wouldn't think that this fragrance is a Dali, because in the heart note, the flowers actually come in. I would have expected a chaotic mix of notes here, with the base note coming first, heart note in between, and top note at the end.

But haaaach...the amber mixes in quite early, it doesn't wait for the base. Very surrealistically suspicious.*gg*
However, I'm searching in vain for the lilac; one should better imagine it or smell it with Dali's nose. I don't see it that strictly, though, because as a lilac junkie, it's not enough for me if there's just a little bit of lilac somewhere; I need to be able to stick my head into a whole bush.

The fruity notes remain dominant here, the entire fragrance progression is characterized by the dark berry-like, but also beautiful aura.

Much later, the fragrance becomes softer when sandalwood and musk come in.
But it remains a very real fruity scent, which is nice, but simply too fruity for me.

A super great summer scent and a comment dedicated to Medusa :D
I know Salvador Dali fragrances from my mom; she owns Dalissima and Laguna. They don't smell bad, but they're not necessarily scents made for me :)

Unfortunately, the Salvador Dali fragrances are not available in any store around me, so I don't know many of them.

Thanks to Medusa, I got to know Purple Lips :D *Thank you kiss*

Now about the bottle: It is decorated with lips like all Salvador Dali fragrances. Purple is not exactly a surprise given the perfume name, but it fits perfectly into my perfume collection :)

Now to the scent:
Purple Lips is for me a really great spring and summer fragrance. It is not exactly quiet. It bursts open, but so fruity and fresh that it simply fits into a season where it is warm, birds are chirping, and flowers are blooming, and you hop hand in hand on a meadow... *laugh*

The top note starts really zesty/fresh and fruity smelling. It delivers new energy. The blueberries are definitely the most prominent. I can only perceive the passion fruit later when the scent fades a bit. The crocus adds a sweet honey note to it, which is not overwhelming but simply fits a sunny summer day (rather quiet in the background).

The heart note says flower, flower, flower...
I do perceive flowers, but not very strongly. I think floral scent lovers might not get their money's worth here :)

The sandalwood and amber give the scent a nice sweet-woody finish in the base.

The scent lasts so long on my arm, so it gets a very good rating for longevity, a full 100 %.

I will definitely buy the scent; I just didn't want to get any new summer fragrances this summer... But I don't know if I can resist ;D

So, onto the wish list...

Blueberry Bomber!
This is going to be the longest comment I've written so far, so take a few days, don't fidget, and read carefully.

What won’t a woman do to write a comment about Purplelips on Parfumo?! I had to literally Google this fragrance because it seems to be no longer available in Germany. A company called "G..." that deals with such rarities helped me out. (You can ask me for the name via PM) Today, Purplelips arrived from the Czech Republic. Well, why not.

I've been thinking for a long time: Why a purple bottle? Now I know!

Purplelips starts as a fruit bomb. Not those overbred blueberries you find in stores, but real blueberries from Mother Nature, which still grow here and there in the forests and even in our area! I can't actually whistle, but I whistled at this opening.

And do you know what I did? I thawed a bag of self-picked blueberries and stuck my nose right in! Purplelips is a purple blueberry banger! Heidiwitzka!

How does a blueberry smell? A real one? Want to know? Without sugar, it smells tart, sour, and distinct. The sweetness only comes slowly. (A little tip on the side, when picking blueberries, be careful that a fox hasn't peed on them.) Okay, it doesn't smell like a fox here!

A tiny bit floral, a subtle sweetness is sent by the crocus. But really just a hint, and the passion fruit - whose flesh is partly also purple - brings a touch of exoticism.

I am quite the plant and flower lady and a crafty herbal witch. We have ancient, huge lilac trees growing in 3 colors (double-flowered lilac). White, lilac, and dark purple. In May, everything here smells of lilac. Beautifully captured in the heart note. The violet remains almost hidden.

Recognizing or sniffing the base note is almost an art, as this purple fruit and flower orgy lasts over 9 hours!

A hint of cream is gifted by the base, a woody touch, and I am completely done! I'm hanging here like Medusa Blueberry!

Purplelips is an EdT, but so strong that it could easily pass as an EdP! Only for the very brave! Not for lovers of delicate fruit and floral scents.

A purple fragrance hammer for ladies and gentlemen! A wonderful addition to my Dalimania!

P.S.: The thawed blueberries were served tonight, sugared and with cream as dessert.

Fruity-berry without annoying sweetness, but also lacking any WOW factor. Purple fantasy flowers are included too. Too "girly" for me.

From tomorrow on, I'll only spray Highdelbeer. Juicy, zesty Ultraviolett, aromatic bittersweet Lilac Violet, and Soft Beige.

Pretty okay, feels a bit like blackcurrant effervescent tablets to me, later more floral. Not too overpowering and quite wearable.

A great mood spring companion. Berry tart with candied violets. Later, a soft creamy musk with wood shavings. Top price-performance!

I can't understand the blackcurrant effervescent tablets. Somewhat fruity & floral, yet distinctly bitter. More for HIM.

Fruity blueberry summer scent (the visually similar Purplelight is more of a spring floral scent), flowers stay in the background here.
