Unknown Alternative to Grand Soir by MFK
Since no review has been written for this fragrance in 8 years, I’m taking the opportunity now.

I myself am not a fan of Grand Soir by MFK. It is too sweet for me. It overwhelms me and headaches are a given. Generally, it’s not my fragrance direction.

Sentosa by Andrea Andreoli is completely different. It is smoother, not quite as intensely resinous, sweet but not disgustingly sweet. It feels perfectly unisex to me. Like Grand Soir, it’s more suitable for the cooler days of the year.

In terms of price, it’s a bargain compared to MFK. In November, the price was €100 for 100 ml, which is a statement. Currently, it’s at €150.

Longing for Togetherness
The fragrances of Simone Andreoli all originate from a small manufactory in Italy, where they are created and produced one hundred percent from start to finish. In his philosophy, Simone Andreoli attempts to preserve and reinterpret his memories of distant lands in his scents in his own unique and individual way. Like a painter who captures his images on canvas to visually convey his art and emotions to us.
This emotion is what Simone Andreoli tries to convey to us in a creative manner, with great attention to detail, olfactorily allowing us to partake in his stories of distant lands through his fragrances.

The scents are still relatively unknown in our latitudes, but I believe this will change quickly. Today, the fragrance "Sentosa" transports me to the expanses of Singapore, a small island in Southeast Asia.

"Sentosa" is a very seductive and warming scent that can exhibit a tendency towards darkness and evokes the longing from the depths of one's heart. Fine ambergris sets the rhythm from the very first second and immediately presents and reveals its delicate and loving soul. Soft as velvet and gentle as silk, Sentosa caresses the skin and allows the soul to breathe deeply. Structures of fine sandalwood increasingly blend into the fragrance progression, conveying even more warmth and balance without gaining dominance. No edges or corners are to be seen; wonderful curves without major tension arcs or haste allow the body to find peace. Like a gentle giant, Sentosa watches over me and receives a subtle assist from spicy cedarwood aroma that weaves into and merges with the gentle soul of the scent structures. Balsamic with subtly graceful woody nuances, labdanum provides the appropriate depth, ensuring that the impression of one-dimensionality never arises. Pure aromas from a scraped vanilla pod lay like balm over the last cracks of the olfactory structures, smoothing their surface.

Sentosa is like a fragrant dragée to spray on. Gentle, soft, and delicate, with a tendency towards darkness, enveloping and calming. With a warmth that evokes a longing for togetherness to feel the warmth of another.

A beautiful unisex fragrance with enormous longevity and sillage. I can hardly understand why it has been rated so poorly so far. For me, it is an autumn/winter scent that invites relaxation. For all lovers of amber fragrances... Test, test, test...

Church like scent, with lots of nice pepper and ginger coming through. Strong scent, lots of sillage.

Sandalwood paired with vanilla, sweet resin dominates, opening is slightly animalistic. Can't sustain the strong start over time.

A full-bodied resinous-balsamic scent with a slightly floral note for my nose. Bring on the cold season. I want it.

Beautifully balanced amber vanilla scent. Strongly reminds me of Gran Soir with a pretty good sillage. Very wearable here as well.

I wouldn't push him off the bed :D Dark, resinous, balsamic-sweet oriental with rich wood and resin, yet soft and rounded.

Sweet-resinous yet subtle scent. Those looking for this rare combination might find it here. Good balance of spice and warmth.

Hmm. Cedar of the sharp pencil-like variety mixes with dominant amber and blocks the way for vanilla. I was hoping for something softer.

An intimate charmer. Seductively velvety, vanilla and labdanum like silk bedding and cedar wood the bed frame. Delicious!

I smell sweet Siam benzoin, lovely vanilla, a bit of sandalwood, and luckily just a hint of labdanum, beautifully resinous sweet, great!
