A Yummy but Surprising Treat
Born From Fire was one of my two pickups from The Scent Room in Dallas that Fran picked out when I told her Iove gourmands. Out of all the vanillas I sniffed that day this was truly something unique. The first thing I realized is that the notes and the way it smells on skin are completely different. With the black pepper and oud I was expecting something spicy and a little anamalic but instead I get something....burnt. Yes, burnt. On first spray this smells like a batch of sugar cookies in the oven that's done cooking but JUST the bottom has been burnt so there's that slight charred layer. Not enough charr to spoil the taste of the cookie and make it a wasted batch, but rather it enhances the flavor.

About an hour in we start to yet this interesting almost breakfast cereal in milk dynamic. Don't misunderstand though, it doesn't smell LIKE milk but rather like cereal once it's hit the milk. Not anything fruity, just something sweet and simple like frosted flakes. By the five hour mark it settles into this beautiful musky vanilla that carries you for the next four to six hours. To say this scent takes you on an adventure would be an understatement! One thing is certain though and that is tha I love where it leads me. It's got a very solid 8 hours of wear time and gets me compliments all day long.

Sugar x Oud Satin Mood… kinda
It does put me in the mind of Oud Satin Mood but the rose is much sweeter and with less powder. I’d say a cross between Nina Ricci L’Extase + Oud Satin Mood. It’s a beautiful fragrance with really good performance but I can never love this profile enough to commit to a big bottle, so I settled for a decant instead. The opening is very… interesting, in that it chokes the wearer out. It is strong and unforgiving but I don’t think there’s a way to mitigate that except maybe spraying away from the face. Performance is 10/10 and I like the look and feel of the bottle. Suitable for Winter and special occasions. I don’t regard Born From Fire to be casual or even versatile. Unisex!

I don't understand the ratings
I had the pleasure of testing the fragrance multiple times in different situations thanks to a sample. First of all, it must be said that this scent does not reinvent the wheel. It is oriented towards existing fragrances, with strong similarities to Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Parfum especially at the beginning. So, soapy rose on a light oud base. A distinct caramel note accompanies it, making the fragrance more feminine. In my opinion, however, a man can also wear this scent, especially if the outfit is a bit more elegant.
As for the fragrance itself, I can only say that it remains quite linear and does not develop significantly. Individual notes, such as the very light oud accord, become less prominent over time. In the end, a not unharmonious and by no means cheap-smelling sweet and slightly powdery/creamy scent remains.
All in all, I cannot understand the fragrance rating of 7.2 (as of 06.24). Similar fragrances, like the aforementioned OSM, have a fragrance rating of 8.5 at the same time.
Where Born from Fire has to make compromises is in the H/S. This is by no means bad, but it doesn't hit as hard as comparable rose/oud fragrances. After 8 hours, I could still perceive the scent, and it naturally lasts much longer on clothing.
If you are into this type of perfume (rose/oud) that tends to lean feminine, I can definitely recommend it. The price for 100 ml is really fair.

Oud Satin Mood with Twists
Same vein as Oud Satin Mood.

Famous oud-rose-vanilla blend. The fragrance becomes a bit sharper and more complex through amber, vetiver, and cashmere.

In the drydown, a bit of sweetness comes through from the sugar.

Well done - unfortunately not entirely rounded, could use a bit more punch.
The name unfortunately doesn't quite deliver on its promise.

Caramel for Autumn
The packaging/presentation is high-quality, but there is definitely room for improvement. The bottle is elegant and solid, and the sprayer is good. So far, the conditions are positive.
The scent itself comes immediately with distinct, sweet caramel notes that - at least in the first few minutes - overshadow everything else. Overall, I agree with other reviews that the fragrance develops rather linearly. There are no massive shifts, but I don't find that too bothersome, as the overall composition of the scent is very harmonious and closely knit.
After a while, vanilla notes, as well as hints of rose and cashmere(?) complement the overall impression.
As already mentioned, the caramel notes remain present even in the drydown. If oud is present (I perceive it less), it is very soft and subtly integrated.
Longevity and sillage are adequate.
Overall, I find "born from fire" a beautiful, pleasant scent that may not have the fine nuances of other fragrances, but is certainly pleasing and elegant.
In this context, I also consider the price, which seems quite fair.
It is certainly not a summer fragrance, but on the upcoming cooler days and evenings, it will surely be a good companion for me.
Those who prefer something a bit sweeter will find themselves well accommodated here.

Nothing to do with fire. Sweet and creamy spicy-floral scent, but evidently synthetic. Leans feminine.

FB desired. Great longevity. Dense with sexy rose. Good for fun night out. Also lots of spice and incense on me.

Very powdery-rosy at first. But then it becomes a lovely, saffron-spiced, vanilla rose soap, slightly smoky and bitter. Great!

Rose soap, drenched in artificial sweetness. I can hardly perceive any of the other fragrance notes. What a pity. The name sounded so good.

Powerful start (spicy oud), but quickly gives way to a warm-powdery-spicy mix of saffron, vanilla, rose, woods & amber. Great.

Smoky caramel in a bottle. Starts sweet-gourmand with fruity rose, light smoke, and a hint of saffron. Develops a freshness in the dry down.

Starts off quite oddly with burnt plastic rose and saffron vanilla.
Later, a pleasantly smoky vanilla with a hint of oud.
Give it time.
