A Yummy but Surprising Treat
Born From Fire was one of my two pickups from The Scent Room in Dallas that Fran picked out when I told her Iove gourmands. Out of all the vanillas I sniffed that day this was truly something unique. The first thing I realized is that the notes and the way it smells on skin are completely different. With the black pepper and oud I was expecting something spicy and a little anamalic but instead I get something....burnt. Yes, burnt. On first spray this smells like a batch of sugar cookies in the oven that's done cooking but JUST the bottom has been burnt so there's that slight charred layer. Not enough charr to spoil the taste of the cookie and make it a wasted batch, but rather it enhances the flavor.

About an hour in we start to yet this interesting almost breakfast cereal in milk dynamic. Don't misunderstand though, it doesn't smell LIKE milk but rather like cereal once it's hit the milk. Not anything fruity, just something sweet and simple like frosted flakes. By the five hour mark it settles into this beautiful musky vanilla that carries you for the next four to six hours. To say this scent takes you on an adventure would be an understatement! One thing is certain though and that is tha I love where it leads me. It's got a very solid 8 hours of wear time and gets me compliments all day long.

Sugar x Oud Satin Mood… kinda
It does put me in the mind of Oud Satin Mood but the rose is much sweeter and with less powder. I’d say a cross between Nina Ricci L’Extase + Oud Satin Mood. It’s a beautiful fragrance with really good performance but I can never love this profile enough to commit to a big bottle, so I settled for a decant instead. The opening is very… interesting, in that it chokes the wearer out. It is strong and unforgiving but I don’t think there’s a way to mitigate that except maybe spraying away from the face. Performance is 10/10 and I like the look and feel of the bottle. Suitable for Winter and special occasions. I don’t regard Born From Fire to be casual or even versatile. Unisex!

Do not understand the ratings
I had the pleasure of testing the fragrance several times in different situations thanks to a sample. To begin with, it must be said that this fragrance does not reinvent the wheel. It is based on existing fragrances, whereby I can smell strong similarities to Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Parfum, especially at the beginning. Soapy rose on a light oud base. There is also a distinct caramel note that makes the fragrance more feminine. In my opinion, however, a man can also wear this fragrance, especially if the outfit is a little more elegant.
As for the fragrance itself, I can only say that it remains fairly linear and doesn't develop much. Individual notes, such as the very light oud accord, diminish over time. In the end, what remains is a sweet and slightly powdery/creamy fragrance that is not inharmonious and in no way cheap-smelling.
All in all, I can't understand the fragrance rating of 7.2 (as of 06.24). Similar fragrances, such as the OSM mentioned above, have a fragrance rating of 8.5 at the same time.
Where the Born from Fire has to make concessions, however, is in the H/S. It's not bad by any means, but it doesn't pop as much as comparable rose/oud fragrances. After 8 hours, I was still able to perceive the fragrance, and of course it lasts much longer on clothing.
If you like this type of perfume (rose/oud), which tends to be feminine, I can definitely recommend it. Especially the price is really fair for 100 ml.

Oud Satin Mood with Twists
Same vein as Satin Oud Mood.

Familiar oud-rose-vanilla blend. Amber, vetiver and cashmere make the fragrance more edgy and complex.

In the drydown, the sugar adds a touch of sweetness.

Nicely done - unfortunately not quite round, could do with a bit more oomph.
Unfortunately, the name doesn't quite live up to its promise.

Caramel for the fall
The packaging/presentation is of high quality, but with a clear margin for improvement. The flacon is elegant and solid, the atomizer is good. So far, the general conditions are positive.
The fragrance itself immediately comes across with clear, sweet caramel notes, which - at least in the first few minutes - overshadow everything else. Overall, I agree with other reviews that the fragrance develops rather linearly. There are no massive shifts, but I don't find this too bad, as the overall composition of the fragrance is very harmonious and close-knit.
After a while, vanilla notes and hints of rose and cashmere(?) complete the overall impression.
As already mentioned, the caramel notes remain present in the drydown. If oud is present (I notice it less), it is incorporated very gently and discreetly.
Longevity and sillage are appropriate.
Overall, I find "born from fire" to be a beautiful, pleasant fragrance that may not have the subtle nuances of other fragrances, but is certainly pleasing and elegant.
In this context, of course, I also see the price, which seems quite fair.
It is certainly not a summer fragrance, but it will certainly be a good companion on the cooler days and evenings to come.
If you like it a little sweeter, you're in good hands here.

Spun sugar rose with oud & other woods. If it wasn't sweet enough, there is vanilla to the mix. Peppery foreground with saffron for texture.

Nothing to do with fire. Sweet and creamy spicy-floral scent, but evidently synthetic. Leans feminine.
