Last Minute Captivation
Having spent the afternoon at a Sisley counter chatting with the engaging staff, getting a facial and makeup (I'm a lipstick only gal and will probably stay that way), I was hungry and ready to leave. A sales clerk added this sample to my bag and I thought, "what is this?" and put some on. Heaven! Jasmine is my favorite floral and that's a big part of why, but Tea and Juniper take the rest of the credit. At first I mistook them for carnation. Their appealing green astringency keep this from smelling like every other perfume on the block. The top note is an inviting combo of citrus and spice, the pepper not overdone. Musk and patchouli are at their best in the well-balanced base. This perfume is simplicity raised to high art. Not every fragrance can pull it off. Here each note carries its weight while blending beautifully with the rest. Had to buy it. My guess is it will become a favorite summer fragrance.

Oh no
this is nothing outstanding. The spices in the top note were just passed over, so only grapefruit and mandarin remain. The tea is much more interesting with Bulgari, and juniper stays incognito while musk is said to even be in 4711. The dosage here is not stronger either.

I can imagine enjoying it on hot summer days when our lipsticks are melting on the shelf, as a refreshment. But there are also such Eau Fraiches from more affordable brands.

surprised
With surprise, I am currently reading the moderately enthusiastic comments about Sisley 1.

My mother-in-law always sprays her latest fragrance acquisitions on me and eagerly awaits my judgment.
I appreciate that.

Recently, she let me try No. 1 and made not only a questioning but a long face.
It had been gifted to her, and she thought it was a "men's fragrance." It reminded her of aftershave, she said disappointedly.
However, although it is labeled as unisex, I find it rather feminine.
And I like it.
The spice-fruit mixture is interesting and invigorating - and not at all scratchy.
Jasmine and tea blend subtly underneath, and the juniper adds clarity - but no bitterness.
Musk and patchouli round off No. 1 gently with an oriental touch.

For me, it is a refreshing daytime fragrance with a touch of elegance that suits any season.

Eau de Fatigant 1
Whenever someone says, "You have to try this!", I would prefer to leave the sample right there in the store - but one doesn't want to be rude.

The card that comes with it mentions something about floral and joyeuse. Floral, yes; joyeuse, probably not.

Eau de Sisley 1 is, as the name suggests, water. The kind that is often offered now with a hint of flavor (orange-lemon). This one seems to have been left forgotten on the garden table. It looks like three flower petals accidentally fell in. Grandma wasn't paying attention while bringing it in with her spiced tea, and a few drops ended up in the mix.

I find this scent absolutely boring! *yawn*

Surprise
The first impression is good - fresh and exciting - I really like grapefruit. So I thought it would be worth a test on the skin. But after about 10 minutes the (nasty) surprise - I have my grandpa's aftershave on my wrist.
The association is clear and I am transported back to my childhood. I didn't just sniff the waters of grandma and mom... it was a yellow, square bottle with golden lettering, that's all I remember. It's been over 20 years.
There are juniper and a bit of musk that dominate on my skin and are still recognizable even after 9 hours of close wear. Yes, I just couldn't bring myself to wash off the scent and I'm indulging in memories :)
Conclusion: Certainly wearable for men, but not for me.

Very pretty, but Sisley has better ones. Chypre for "beginners." H/S rather mediocre. Zesty start, juniper + tea through jasmine is interesting*

fresh, green, a day at the spa, sauna, massage, cream mask, bitter grapefruit and juniper are great, relaxed deep breath

A lightly peppered and slightly herbal lemon tea that gradually transforms into a light, airy-fresh Eau du Soir.

Citrusy fresh - reminds me of a scent from my youth, "Eau Jeune," which isn't listed here.

I would apply the scent 1 hour before going out, because at first it smells like an aftershave, but then it becomes very creamy and delicate.

Cool refreshment for spring and summer! The longevity is sufficient for a summer scent. Lots of grapefruit and juniper!

in the middle somehow synthetic, but not bad

Citrusy-herb+herbaceous+fougere, juniper, jasmine+a light subtle teen note, gently creamy with musk, fine+masculine. Only the patch is bothersome.
