Final boss of fruitchouli
A dark, jammy, juicy, syrupy, sexy fruitchouli. I get primarily a one-two punch of tart, ripe blackcurrant and deep, green patchouli, with just enough rose to land this solidly in the "feminine" category. Sharp and attention-grabbing right off the bat, this is bound to turn heads. It's louder than I would personally gravitate toward, but I have to respect it.

While I typically associate fruit-forward fragrances with summer, I think this could easily suit any season, cutting through the heat of summer or brightening the chill of winter.

I wouldn't recommend this as a fruitchouli entry point, but if you're already a fan of the combo, by all means, dive right in.

Chypre at Dusk
Izia la Nuit is the darker counterpart to the original.

Here, the rose takes a step back, letting patchouli take center stage - dry, deep, slightly earthy, with that unmistakable chypre character that doesn’t compromise. Blackcurrant adds a fruity touch, but it stays in the background.

This is a true statement fragrance, designed for those who appreciate well-structured chypres. But given time, it softens, becomes fruitier, more enveloping, gaining sensuality as it develops.

A scent that evolves beautifully, if you have a taste for vintage sillage.

Sultry and mysterious fruit-chouli
I will start by saying, this is unfamiliar territory for me. Fruity perfumes are normally a no-go but I was attracted to this by promises of a dark character and chypr-esque quality.

It's very fruity-sweet upon opening, with bergamot, sweet peach, bitter orange, plummy jam. It's not bright and airy, it hangs in a dark and sultry atmophere of resinous labdanum and patchouli. The floral undercurrent is there, but not distinct.

After about 5-10 minutes I can pick out the rose, magnolia, cardamom, blackcurrent. I find the rose to be quite buried amidst the other notes. As a rose lover I am a bit dissapointed by this, but it does become more forward as it dries down. There's some of a musty vibe, which is not unpleasant, like smelling old books on wooden shelves. Kind of mossy too, which I like! All enveloped in a subtle creamy vanilla.

There's something elegant and mysterious about it, warm and inviting yet secretive. Like you've just entered an enchanted English garden on the eve of Autumn. I really want to like this, and I so very almost do, but personally I can only endure fruitiness if it is not too prominent or sweet. If the sweetness was dialed down and florals a bit more forward, I would enjoy this more I suspect.

Izias Rose
Actually, there are too many stories to tell here one for the second time.
But since also a second fragrance beauty appears, which carries the pet name of the doyenne of the company Sisley, I will break nevertheless with my resolution and write down the history of "Izia's rose" once again.
Everything else can be found in my comment "The pet name of the doyenne" to the fragrance "Izia".

Isabelle d'Ornano is still the heart of the cosmetics company Sisley and its perfume branch, founded by her late husband Hubert.
She is now 83 years old and has spent much of her life composing different fragrances.

One scent, one rose in particular, has done it to her: that lush climbing rose that blooms every year for only two weeks in May, diligently climbing up the fence of the tennis court at home.

This rose was brought to France by the young Comtesse Izabela Potocki as a memento from the rose gardens of her family's former Polish castle.
A refugee like her, who made her home there in a foreign land in the gardens of the country estate;
this "Rose d'Ornano."
For the name of the rose is unknown to this day; even exhaustive research brought no result.
But its heavy aroma displaces all other fragrances in the short time of its blooming and is thus worth its weight in gold as an essence for a perfumer.

Already in the fragrance creation "Izia" we encounter her mature, sensual beauty and also in "Izia - La Nuit" this rose fragrance forms the romantic centerpiece.

Her balsamic fragrance drifts in heavy clouds through the nocturnal park.
Already in the orchard, where bergamot, mandarin and blackcurrant greet fruity-fresh, she reminds us of her presence.
Her fragrance presence settles over this fresh-aromatic prelude and just leaves room for a cheerful freesia bouquet and the delicate porcelain magnolia blossom.
Even a rose goddess needs her fragrant admirers, her companions!
This rose leaves no doubt that it pays homage in the first place to the woman to whom it owes its existence here. What would have become of her in Poland?
At this powerful supremacy in the fragrance fabric change also the golden brown earthy beauty of patchouli and the resinous spice labdanum nothing.
Creamy creamy white vanilla adds a final good dose of feminine sensuality.

So accomplished, "Izia - La Nuit" bows to the grand dame of the Sisley company, the charismatic Isabelle d'Ornano.
The pride of being able to pay tribute to this special woman, and likewise to all other women, makes this fragrance creation an elegant companion through the night.
A few enchanting hours she gives us, then she retires quietly and nobly.
She leaves behind a charming floral breeze and a whispered "Bon Nuit".
Not to mention her knowing feminine smile ...

Like a well-known cream ...
Before I go into the connection with known cream, first in general to the fragrance...

It smells very high-quality, rosy, creamy, pleasing. I wouldn't call it fresh, tangy or youthful, more classy and deep. But not heavy.

You might not think it as the wearer, but it scents the entire room pleasantly rosy. Not a sweet artificial rose and not a stale one, but a "real", natural one.
Although it doesn't smell youthful, it doesn't smell stale, as I said, rather classy. I think any woman can wear it.
In the beginning, it reminds me a lot of regular Izia. Then he transforms.

Now for my association with the cream...
It smells like Nivea cream to me after a short drydown. Like the classic one in the blue and white metal jar. Really, I feel the scent as if I came out of the warm bath and creamed myself with this cream all over my body. Bathrobe over it, cuddly socks on and off to the couch.
Cozy, comforting, well-groomed.
And looking at the fragrance pyramid of the cream's perfume, I agree. The fragrance notes have a lot of similarity to each other.
Would this be a cheaper alternative? For me personally: only from the smell, the performance of the Nivea perfume is unfortunately underground. So ultimately: no.

Conclusion: beautiful, noble fragrance with great quality. Gladly times test

Perfect dark rose chypre. It reminds me on E. A. Po's The Raven, Emily The Corpse Bride, some dark and deep forest. Very gothic, I adore it.
