Greenish
Got to try the new scents of Sisley today. Unexpected, but this fragrance stood out for me.
It opens green with the floral of geranium and papyrus. This is how the scent develops more and more beautifully and deeper on my skin with an increasingly dominant mint tone. All the fragrance notes are so realistic and beautifully blended. Love for me.

Dreaming with class
The fragrance I am about to describe remains close to the skin (10 cm), an hour after applying it. It's the mint that comes across first, of a quality that makes me think of when I prepare a mojito during the summer. In the following instant, green notes of shiso are released, but above all the green/bitter ones (not too much), of bucco which continue together with the mint for a few minutes. The geranium is there, you can perceive it, but it does not become a protagonist, rather it is a complement to the central notes. At this point, the scent always remains green, with the mint slowly fading and in combination with the geranium, papyrus and perhaps a hint of wood, it creates a very well-made accord. The drydown, which arrives after an hour and a half, is characterized by the presence of oak moss, a bit of patchouly and a thousandth part of ambroxan. Of a high class, both in terms of raw materials and accords, this fragrance, I would say, is more masculine in the finish.

Fisherman´s girl friend

Fisherman´s girl friend
Actually, I only wanted to write a statement about Hubert, but this experience
requires several words.
When I first joined parfumo (2011), I didn't know Sisley yet. Through a lively exchange of samples,
I got to know the brand better, and it wasn't love at first sight, even though modern Chypres were presented to me, which should have been tailor-made for me. I dismissed Eau de Sisley 1 to 3 as "weird and fishy stuff." I might see it differently today, but I never had them under my nose again. Well, when one door closes, a window opens… or something like that. Still, I don’t like to be pushed into anything. Just like back then when I was supposed to like Serge Lutens. Nope, he hasn’t managed to win me over to this day, and neither has Mrs. B. You know who I mean. Let’s keep that between us…. I find concept fragrances to be coercive and intrusive. They can continue to stink from their niches, but not with me.
"Soir de Lune" then came from behind through the cold kitchen, as a gift, and voilà, it caught me at the right moment, and now I already have my 3rd bottle. A constant candidate for repurchase. Later, "Eau du Soir" (the 1990 version) joined in. Of course, a Chypre. What else? Due to my recurring, longer breaks from parfumo, I hadn’t had another Sisley under my nose for a long time. But now Hubert arrived (thanks ElAttarine), who doesn’t fare too well with other Parfumos.
But why should I be bothered by others' dislikes? Sprayed it on. Oh wow, full-body mouthwash! It reminds me of "Yerbamate" by Lorenzo Villoresi, which I criticized back in 2011. I would feel differently today. So I feel a little ashamed…..
Well, Hubert starts off with a hefty dose of peppermint! Wow! But hey, just peppermint doesn’t have this punch. Internally applied, it helps against stomach grumbling, intestinal rumbling, and quick trips to the bathroom. Cats like it too. Would a fisherman suck on these drops to combat fishy breath? The mint gets reinforcement, and I had to check in botany what Shiso and Buchu are. Shiso (also known as Perillo) smells minty, slightly spicy, with a basil note. It is used in Japanese cuisine. I looked at my Fumico. She is Japanese, but Hubert didn’t affect her.
Buchu, on the other hand, comes from South Africa, is a medicinal herb, and is said to help with stomach cramps and rheumatism. This plant also smells strongly minty and like rosemary.
So it doesn’t surprise me at all that this mint-muscle-packed top note dominates almost the entire fragrance progression. I found that a bit strange, and I thought that Sisley sometimes has peculiar tendencies anyway. A floral note doesn’t emerge, and the mentioned geranium has little chance. Besides, geraniums don’t smell sweet or lovely anyway.
Mintiness allies with a needliness. No little wonder for sweet-toothed souls. I’m glad. Hubert races past the current trend - sweet, gooey, sticky - and gives all Toffifees a run for their money.
From then on, Hubert had me. I became Fisherman´s girl friend. On top of that, a typical mossy, damp, greenish Chypre base.
A mint Chypre! A glorious LmaA (Lick me on the arm) scent. The next summer can come. It will surely also drive away mosquitoes, ticks, and other uninvited guests.

Toothpaste Meets Lubricant
“L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert” - a name I will only write out once in this review. But it’s not a scent I will wear just once… hopefully.

Sisley is once again showcasing this icy mint matador, as only these aromatic noble Parisians can. This “Hubert” is a bright green mint frog, whose ancestors have belonged to the upper echelons of France for generations. Frog legs and freedom are at the top of the agenda here. With Uncle “Hubert,” it’s hard to imagine that he can also be laid-back and let loose, or that he ever had wilder years. Now it’s all about suits, white wine, and gray hair. And the grandchildren, of course. Especially the prominently strutting geranium is just as cool and toothpaste-like as the mint, only a bit sweeter. However, if you spend some time with “Uncle Hub,” about 2-4 hours, he becomes significantly more accessible and gentle. Then you’re left with an almost Asian-minimalist green creature between aromatherapy and the best breath in the world. You have to like it, you need a bit of patience, you have to be into it, and you have to be the right type for it and have the right occasions. A fragrance along with its wearer that the gray-streaked widow of the world would definitely want to crack…

Bottle: sleek and minimally elegant
Sillage: those allergic to mint and this toothpaste freshness will somehow manage
Longevity: 5 hours of blue blood in light green

Conclusion: a completely unabashed and noble mint aristocrat with more manners than are good for him… stiff. But as I said: extremely well-groomed and exemplary. Close to Malle’s “Geranium Pour Monsieur.”

Tearing Eyes in the Vegetable Section
The start is minty fresh, almost cold. My eyes are slightly watering and I am wide awake, pulled out of any daydream.

The mint does not come across like a mint leaf, but rather slightly medicinal, more white than green and reduced to freshness. And I find this astonishing, as at the same time, a lot of green foliage is already at work. However, the two accords do not merge into a peppermint bush in my nose but run independently of each other. The mint note on the skin fades to a whisper within a quarter of an hour, but lingers much longer on clothing, which significantly alters the scent progression. Let's continue here on the skin...

The concurrently developing green notes are so natural that they come across to me as somewhat vegetable-like. A bit like the vegetable section in the supermarket where a few bouquets are offered in a small corner. With the flowers, it’s more about the stems, and if there is a bloom, it is only a completely unsweet and watery ethereal one. This would fit the indicated geranium. At no point does one get the impression of a fully developed rose scent.

After about an hour, the vegetable aspect diminishes somewhat, and for the first time, there is a hint that this is indeed a perfume. The green notes now seem to me as if one has isolated that dreamy grassy and airy freshness from my summer favorite Eau d'Orange verte and transferred it into this green dream in a slightly drier but still more natural form. The mintiness never completely disappears, but rather becomes a hint in the background as the progression continues.

Fortunately, this juicy green does not evaporate or turn sweet-woody or overly powdered as it progresses. The scent only becomes softer and rounder, remaining green, perhaps a bit darker and slightly dry-woody and earthy. If one pays attention, one can occasionally catch a small bloom.

What started off somewhat demanding and slightly disintegrated now concludes wonderfully harmoniously.

Starts with a strong mint note, then becomes herbally fresh and ends on a mossy earthy note. Ambroxan doesn't really come through.

Minty-astringent, Buchu-etheric, Shiso-metallic. It wonderfully hits the fontanelles. Meanwhile, a balanced rose scent lingers in the background.
