The never-ending search for the perfect green has come to an end
Green fragrances often don't last very long or tend to have a men's shower gel/aftershave vibe, especially in unisex fragrances... and so I've been spending my time for quite a while now putting my nose and money into everything that seems fresh/green/decently floral and minimally woody in the hope of finally landing THE hit.
Patchouli in the base initially put me off trying this one and I flirted with its sister Alma (which I now also own) until I finally gave it a try when I visited my local perfumery.
The top note is spicy and fresh, as if I had scurried past a bed of herbs; I clearly perceive basil and cardamom, while the floral heart note adds something warm, creamy and elegant. The floral heart remains for a long time until the woods (fortunately, at least on my skin, no patchouli) join in. The combination of heart/base note is subtly elegant, yet fresh but not so shower gel-fresh. I keep catching myself sniffing my wrist and literally inhaling it, it's so beautiful
90% of my green collection suffers from a lack of longevity and only lasts >5 hours. Considering that L'Eau Rêvée d'Alma is "only" an EdT, the longevity is fantastic. This seems to vary depending on skin type, if you can believe the statements here, for me it lasts 7-8 hours and is still noticeable on clothing days later.
It's not an ultra feminine fragrance (you wouldn't expect it to be unisex anyway), I love wearing it all year round (okay, maybe not in the height of summer...) at work because it gives me such a "power aura". And it doesn't get on the nerves of the people around me or cause shortness of breath. Frequent comments were along the lines of "who smells so nice and fresh here" - moi ! Thanks to Alma!
