The Persian godass captured in a bottle
The most stunning Iris scent ever made, clean, elegant and beautiful. Iris and powder, with a little hint of citrus notes, resting on a bed made of musk, sandalwood, tobacco and the miraculous magical spice, the tonka bean.

The unisex fragrance leans to the feminine side obviously, with good sillage and longevity on the skin. A very polarizing scent and it is always different. The opening is the same every time, however I noticed that the dry down depends a lot on the weather conditions and the humidity of the air. On colder days on my skin I can feel the citrus notes and the iris more, while in the hot and humid weather the base notes are more dominant, especially the sandalwood and tobacco. Sample it first!

In love with Iris
How many times are there violent storms that seem to never end and scare us? But then, as if by magic, everything calms down and the rainbow appears.
The ancient Greeks identified this beautiful phenomenon with the deity Iris. Beautiful, graceful even though she was the sister of the harpies.
A great transposition that can be made to life.
Panthea Iris is a wonderful fragrance, with a much more accentuated Iris than Panthea, from the same brand, powdery, very elegant, with a citrusy and sparkling opening.
The Iris that makes me rev up. Truly wonderful.

The review and comparing Panther Iris with Iris Poudre
This has been the most challenging perfume for me of what I have. I sprayed it a lot outside and I hoped that something would happen. I put in on sale after trying it few times but fortunately I set the price so high that no one bought it.

After many months I took it from the box and sprayed it on my clothes (tried earlier as well) and I was totally surprised! It started to bloom and shine in the way how people who love it describe it.

Panthea Iris is astonishing beautiful no doubt. It’s powdery, subtle, a little bit soapy Iris. It’s elegant, refined and a little bit paltry but in the same time it feels luxurious. It’s not buttery or creamy Iris, it’s clear, airy and dry and there is something melancholic in it. The scent is not complex and it doesn’t change so much from the opening until the dry down but it’s not bad at all in this case.

It performs in the best way on clothes and I picked up one of my favorite evening dresses which I made maybe 20 years ago for celebrating Finnish Independence Day (the holes for my arms has modified bigger since that ) and I still wear it every Independence Day. Panthea Iris matches perfectly with that long Sapphire blue velvety dress.
Comparing

FREDERIC MALLE: Iris Poudre
Pierre Bourdon (2000) and

STÉPHANE HUMBERT LUCAS: Panthea Iris (2019)
(Review made earlier)

These two clear, sophisticated and soapy scents are in the same category. Both has a clean white musky base and they are very subtle, elegant and refined. They are airy and dry. They are powdery but it’s rather sharp and cold powder than soft and warm compared to those “baby vibe” powdery scents.

Iris Poudre is even colder and drier than Panthea Iris. There is a lot of aldehydes in IP and it creates a frosty, super fresh and bright nuances. In Panthea Iris there are pink berries in the top notes which gives a hint of the sweetness to the scent and Orris butter in the base softens the whole concoction a little bit.

Do I need the both? Yes. But I don’t know if it’s necessary- try them and decide.

Iris Poudre:

Top: Rose - Violet - Ylang-Tlang
Heart: Iris (Aldehydes)
Base: Sandalwood - Musk - Tonka bean

Panthea Iris:

Top:
Pink Berries - Italian Bergamot and Tangerine - White Tea
Heart:
Iris Absolute - Jasmine - Violet
Base:
White Musk - Tonka bean - Sandalwood - Patchouli - Iris butter

I'm totally in love with Irises so I will write some blog about them later.

Thank you for reading, I hope you liked my review.

Stéphane Did It Again…
I’m beginning to think Stéphane Humbert Lucas can do no wrong. Due to how much I’ve fallen in love with his creations, I’ve sat on this one for a while… well, most of his creations I have in my selection… and simply over the notion they’re mostly 50 ml bottles save for Soleil de Jeddah and Isra & Miraj, which are 100 ml bottles and a couple SoOud selections that are 60 ml. Nevertheless I have anxiety about over-using my SHL creations from his SHL 777 and SoOud lines. That being said, I’ve only worn this one a couple times and mostly just as bed time scents with just one spray on the back of a hand. I recently gave this one a full wearing and I knew I loved it, as is always the case with SHL’s works, but wow.

In addition to just being a Stéphane fan, I’ve come to really love and appreciate iris as a fragrance note, and as the dominant star player in fragrances. Like many, my first encounters were the Dior Homme line. At least, that’s when I really fell in love with iris.

I don’t have a real lot to say about this fragrance, and don’t know I could add much that hasn’t already been said. I’m having mentioned the Dior line, at first spray, this was reminiscent of Dior Homme Parfum. It was just iris smacking me right across the nose. That is a masterpiece in my opinion, but this to me is as if SHL wanted to take that DNA and just make it extra special. The iris is much more buttery and velvety. As is always seemingly the case with SHL, he has an ability to make my nose sense textures and this is velvety and silky smooth. I would say it’s more demure and muted, but just an overall much more elegant take on the heavy heavy iris dominant dna.

I don’t pick up on the other notes so much, they seem to just be blended to provide an elegant and rich backdrop and base for the iris to shine mightily. Some have referenced this being more feminine leaning and I can agree with that, though I do still feel this as being unisex and I’ll certainly be rocking this without pause. What I do pick up on somewhat other than the iris are the citrus and white tea giving it an uplifting feeling, and the tonka giving it some sweetness, while the musk gives it a very clean freshness, and the sandalwood adds to that buttery smooth creaminess. This is really outstanding and while I’m not surprised, I’m still always taken aback by SHL’s fragrant art. Highly recommend. SHL did it again!

Snowflake
Snowflakes flutter on my eyelashes.
Opening: dry, cool, distant, almost bitter.
Just a cool, dark night, where it starts to snow quietly.
Cuddling with a freshly powdered baby in a blanket.
Base: incredibly delicate and gentle and soft powdery-creamy, cuddly. Like a caress. Warm.
Maximum contrast in a fragrance, like I have never noticed in any other.
And I didn't quite like Panthea. This one is at the top of my wish list.
It is quiet, almost skin-like. As quiet as the snow falls. Yet still perceptible.

PS: After hours I think I also perceive a hint of the wonderful Generation 2022 Femme. A dream.

Floral, bright, powdery, smooth, delicate, leaning to feminine but still unisex. Very well blended, with the sexiness of the white musk.

Oh, this iris is a high society lady, elegant, rather cool, pleasantly fresh. Creamy, soft leather rounds it off.

I find it extremely difficult. It comes across as very opulent for an iris scent, and I can also relate to the sweaty aspect. No, it's not for me.

More vibrant than Apollonia;
white winter whispers;
a tsarina strolling in the cool wind, iris buttery-soft-warm as it unfolds.

Iris powdery start, then quite heavy violets that linger. It should be called Panthea Violet. The cool sister suits me better.

Dry-crisp iris melts into smooth Panthea cream, a hint of patch in the base grounds the goddess. Yes, you can have 2 goddesses ;)
