What kind of simple, great summer scent is that?! Elegant, consistent, high quality right down to the tip of the hair. Monotonous, bitter, but overall for me extremely versatile and easy to wear. Of course the price is a bit outrageous, but as a fragrance in itself a house number.

Oldschool luxury, casual and relaxed, masculine and self-confident. Oak moss refined with citric splashes, aldehydes meet chest hair, jasmine goes gym. Typical Tom Ford. It's all been done, but not so sophisticated and polished, defined and trained, laidback and powerful. This is artificial naturalness to the max. It literally smells of adventurers and fat wallets, of Mediterranean and beach villas, of coupes and salty breezes. A poem and grandiose advertisement for Positano. Sunny, sensual, pensive. Perfect with olives, a fine wine and a relaxed snack. A secret member of the top ten thousand. Without bragging or showing off. The opposite of the spirit. Even if some themes and accents of other blue-turquoise Tom Fords only repeated.

Flacon: Tom Ford has already created something iconic...
Sillage: delicate and summery.
Durability: super beautiful, but too fast away - 3-5 hours in the sun. But it should be made for that.

Conclusion: an almost perfect holiday fragrance. If you're a millionaire. Or just looking for the one. Masculine, summery, light, green and blue and southern in each molecule. A classic men's fragrance, sexy and fresh. You have to create with a lot of jasmine first. And actually super simple. Here only flawlessly and luxuriously prepared and updated

When the sun dies you will come

Every morning I look out of my office - well apart from my weekends - and soberly realize the following fact. Summer's gone. Died. Irrevocable. For a long time. The sky is grey and weeping. It's dark early. There is still no snow and Christmas feeling to speak of. Even Last Christmas cannot conjure up the great moments and joyful hours that the pre-wine Christmas season brings. And then the craziest. It's 13 degrees outside again today. Paradoxical and totally wrong.
Now the following paradigm has emerged, albeit not recognized from an economic point of view. Dark season - heavy, oriental scents. Sometimes sweet and smelling of cinnamon. And I must confess. Not mine.
The one colleague you don't have to see, but smells all over the company. I braved it, told her it smelled terrible, but couldn't get me through. Good tastes are different.
Once again completely missed the mark. Can I do well?
I also like fragrances that are heavier, but I, once again, defy general behavior, like to wear fresh and clean. And damn it. That's what Sole di positano is for me. He smells good, decent, sexy. Yeah, just perfect for the office and they're called like the cold days. Evening. It conjures up Caribbean flair on the canvas. Even if the next 3 months are no heat in sight. Of course, durability is not the best. Understandably, he doesn't have the projection that an oriental steam hammer brings with it. But you know what? WHO cares! I'm the only one who wants to smell it. It's my still existing sun and warmth. My feeling of vacation and relaxation!
And the description of the scent? Come on, fuck it. I'll save it today. It's downstairs, too.
And the price? Expensive, what else? It's a Ford. But a good one. It's worth it. But everybody has to decide for himself.

With that in mind. I wish all users a really great pre-Christmas time. Happy Advent in the family. A contemplative celebration with the best and a happy new year. You write yourself!

Gunter Sachs in St. Tropez

Loose, light, lively and profound. For many, Gunter Sachs may have been like any other playboy stumbling around the world, but he certainly wasn't.

On a rather boring Sunday evening I once saw a documentary about this fascinating person. My attitude towards him was very critical in the beginning. I only knew the stories that were still being broadcast from time to time on RTL and similar gossip channels and newspapers on his birthdays.

How deep can someone of this caliber be?

As it turned out: extreme!

From artist to technical and economic genius, this man seems to have been everything, especially misunderstood.

I had a similar experience with this scent. I smelled it for a short time at the TF Counter in Breuninger and it was considered boring and one of many superficially very pretty but not unique scents.

But a few months ago I smelled him again in the duty free area of Munich airport... In the beginning I thought again only "quite nice", but then a creamy flower meadow in the forest rolled over me like a tank.

The fragrance emanates exactly what the Italians would probably call "Sprezzatura". It is noble and casual at the same time. A fragrance of a mixture of youthful lightness, beach villa and a lot of lust for life.

Certainly no fragrance as unique as A Midsummer Dream or as groundbreaking for the industry as Aventus... But a fragrance to fall in love with, for every day and every situation with more behind it than you would see at first sight.
Its durability and sillage are decent. 2 hours with good sillage and from the 5th hour on already very close

The bottle, like any Tom Ford bottle, is, in my opinion, great... However, as almost always the sign is not 100% straight on it, which is definitely something annoying at this price. Especially with this frequency on almost every second bottle.

The first Tom Ford that disappoints!

I am really a big Tom Ford fan (See picture)
I think he has then with his first drop (Oud Wood, Tobacco Vanilla) set a standard that inspires the niche world to this day.
Full of joy so I currently rattle off the Cologneartigen Private blend fragrances.
The Sole di Positano is one of them.
To the fragrance: After spraying on comes directly a floral-fresh note to the nose, which smells a very small little Synthetisch and somehow Unfertig.
But I think nothing of it and give the drydown the next chance. Finally after 15-20 minutes again dran gerochen and ? .... Still the same floral freshness that just smells strongly of ylang ylang and jasmine. This continues so the next few hours until it completely evaporates.
Sole di Positano is for me very linear and unfortunately not at all complex which would not be bad but since we are talking about 150-300 euros, you should be able to perceive something more than ylang ylang and some jasmine. To compare to the other private blend fragrances, this one unfortunately does not come close.
Each of the citrus fragrances of Tom Ford has its raison d'être.
The Mandarino di Amalfi which has a perfect balance between fresh mint, orange blossom and tangerine.
The Neroli Portofino Forte which is a Cologne 4711 on steroids and I would always prefer it to a Cologen because it lasts much longer.
The Costa Azzurra which reflects that salty sea breeze.

But the Sole di Positano just smells floral fresh with a touch synthetic.
The Sillage vorallem is unfortunately very bad with me, you get him only to smell if you go very close with the nose.
In all, unfortunately, the first Tom Ford fragrance that has disappointed me but fortunately there are enough others in which I enjoy.

Sole di Positano. So beautiful!

Absolutely lovely, bright and sunny, slightly floral citrus blended to perfection! Stays quite linear with the main focus on bittersweet citruses surrounded by naturally soft and sweet flowers gradually yielding to a smoothly green and mossy base; It perfoms well on me, the way the spring/summer fragrance has to perform. So beautiful!
