Aperol Spritz on vacation
I'm a bit picky with citrus scents. Not that I dislike them, I just find it boring to smell like a plain lemon or orange. But I heard that this smelled like an Aperol Spritz, and I like some other fragrances from this line, so I was cautiously optimistic about Alba Sui Navigli.
Well, no need to be cautious, this is great!
So refreshing and summery, and not boring at all. It does remind me of an Aperol Spritz, but I don't perceive it as a boozy fragrance.
Blood orange and bitter orange are the stars of the show here. It's a juicy scent that has both bitter and sweet aspects. The basil and juniper notes are very subtle. I was a bit wary about them maybe being too aromatic for my taste, but they aren't. There is a moment of a cologne-like undertone from the petitgrain in the opening, but it doesn't last too long. At no point does this fragrance become harsh or too thin like some other citruses are. I really appreciate the base in this. It smells like soft white musk and weirdly a bit rosy and sweet, so it makes a really nice foundation for the lighter notes. I feel like this is what makes the fragrance feel fresh and clean and keeps it from going into "I just spilled my drink on myself" territory.
It's really like an olfactory vacation, like sitting in a cute little bar by the water in a sundress with friends or your love.
And for a citrus scent, it also lasts very well. I could still smell it in the next morning after sampling in the evening.
Another home run for the Trussardi greyhounds in my book. I also love Passeggiata in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and Limitless Shopping Via della Spiga. These are all very different from each other and beautiful in their own way.
