I've had a fragrance here for a while that I haven't reviewed yet: Behind the Curtain Piazza alla Scala from the Le Vie de Milano series. A great range, the niche range of the Trussardi brand, so to speak. Accordingly, it is considerably more expensive than the designer line. However, you can get this fragrance in particular quite cheaply, as many stores sell it for over 50% of the RRP (170€/100ml). A great catch at this price in my opinion. My 2nd in this line after
Le Vie di Milano - Alba sui Navigli, which I can also highly recommend. Other fragrances in this line are still being tested.
You get a lot with this line. The concepts are also quite niche in terms of creativity, which not every brand can claim for "private blends". The packaging is the usual niche packaging, but also nothing special. The bottles in this range are quite cool and also really heavy in the hand. The lid is a greyhound, which is usually in the logo for this brand. It's really cool how it's done.
The scent of Behind the Curtain Piazza alla Scala is very much in this leathery, spicy direction. So if you are looking for the opposite of smooth fragrances, this is a good one to try. The opening starts confidently with a very loud sillage that radiates very well. It starts with leather and a strong spice of saffron and clove, which will not appeal to everyone. I like this combination of leather and this oriental-inspired spice. Even if the opening is a little more brusque in the first few minutes or hours, the fragrance calms down and becomes much more sensual with resinous-balsamic notes, which are also due to labdanum. A slight gin vibe also appears through juniper, which fits in well with this leather spice. Even though there is no sweet component in this pyramid, this combination already has quite a lot of sweetness in the background, which is a pleasant accompaniment. It is also pleasantly sweet in the drydown, together with wood, patchouli and soft leather. Already convincing and also quite unique.
Performance is quite good, as the sillage radiates very well. The first 2 hours are particularly impressive. Longevity is also in double digits. This fragrance is also unisex and versatile. It is preferably worn in leisure time or in the evening and in cool and mild temperatures.
Overall, a great, self-confident fragrance that becomes very soft and sensual as it progresses. You can feel comfortable with it and it also makes a very stylish impression.
