"Eau de" Ciel

6 reasons why I now own this fragrance:

1) I found the packaging in the store so beautiful!
2) The magically appealing word "vanilla" is on the packaging!
3) It’s an Ulric de Varens fragrance,
4) so the scent can really be good despite the low price of just about 7,--€/100ml.
5) My phone battery was once again dead and I couldn't research.
6) There was no tester to try the fragrance.

Why this fragrance is really for me, even though I almost dropped the bottle in shock after unpacking it (not that it would have been such a big deal, it’s so incredibly ugly):

For a long time, I was tempted to test the fragrance Eau de Zwitsal in the Netherlands. I really wanted a baby powder scent, especially one that was nicely packaged. But something about this fragrance always held me back from buying it. It smelled a bit like a baby diaper just used after feeding, not like a creamed, powdered, clean baby bottom.

And now, the Ciel, for me now "Eau de" Ciel: it smells exactly like Eau de Zwitsal without the used diaper! Good heavens! What a thing!

It’s not that this is my absolute favorite fragrance, as I have too many favorites in my collection. But I was so pleased with the discovery of my "Eau de" Ciel. I never have to do the Eau de Zwitsal test again (because I really want a baby powder scent) and can simply leave the fragrance aside without regret.

I’ve won again! Hooray! Thank heavens!

Sky Blue Powder Cloud

Since my childhood, I have loved the scent of cosmetic powder and lipsticks.
In search of perfumes that go in these directions, it unexpectedly became difficult: "Teint de Neige" (the EdP, the EdT is wonderful), nearly knocked me over at first sniff - there is a piercing note that I cannot handle. "Love, Chloe" is wonderful, but on some days it gradually becomes more and more overwhelming for me, causing headaches and irritation.
However, I found a wonderful alternative in "Poudre de Riz" by Le Pere Pelletier.

Then recently, I came across a sample of Montale's "Powder Flowers." I LOVE this, nothing is piercing, nothing gives me a headache, but: this stuff is STRONG. A drop of the sample on the back of my neck - a 24-hour scent is guaranteed.
More suitable for temperatures < 25°C.

I only had a faint memory of "Ciel"; since it is no longer available in every drugstore like before, I dared to place an order. Daring, because it is only available in a 100ml bottle now. Back in the drugstore, it was more like 20-30ml, always next to "Indra," which stood beside it.

I cannot describe a development of the fragrance pyramid; everything is there all at once.
From the bottle comes a delightful powder cloud that goes very much in the direction of "Powder Flowers," but is a bit more vanilla-like and above all: light.

You don't have to be too cautious with the dosage. And: the powder cloud is perfectly wearable at the current temperatures of 30°C.
It envelops you lightly for about 8 hours.

I own a few fragrances from UdV and can say that they are all very suitable for everyday wear. Made to smell pleasant without making statements.

3 of my colleagues now also want to invest €10 for the 100ml.

Comforting Bargain

I bought this EDP (30 ml) for 2.99 euros at the drugstore S... The scent was on sale. There was no tester available, and the vanilla, along with my mood on this beautiful spring day a few days before Easter this year, led me to this spontaneous purchase.
I love vanilla, and this scent lifts my spirits, gives me a cozy warm feeling, provides comfort, and evokes childhood memories... and I also needed something comforting after I received that news from my relatives a few hours earlier. So I bought Ciel along with the condolence card, and at home, I immediately tried out this fragrance.

The packaging was quite difficult to open, so I had to use scissors for assistance. The pastel blue cap comes off easily.
The scent is slightly vanilla, quite subtle, yet still present. I can smell it consistently. I recognize flowers, but I can't define exactly what kind they are (I'm not very good at identifying flowers), but the overall scent is fine, creamy, and lovely, reminding me of my friend J.'s body butter (Spicy Vanilla from T.B.S.).
Only, the vanilla scent in the body butter is a bit more intense.
The scent lasts a long time on me; one quick spray (not pressing too hard) is more than enough, it doesn't smell bad, I don't get a headache, but rather receive lovely words from my loved ones (you smell good, pleasant...). "Ciel" is a nice everyday fragrance for me at a very low price.
For some time now, I haven't seen it at S...., only "Indra" at the small Ulric de Varens price (about 5-7 euros).

Headache...

Actually, I discovered it by chance; I had seen and tested it because of the old-fashioned packaging and was initially really impressed by the strong vanilla note. To me, it smelled wonderfully "soft" at first.

I then bought it, but after wearing it a few times at home, I got a headache and it reminded me more and more of an old woman.

Fortunately, it wasn't too expensive (I think it was just under 10 euros), but I can't wear it anymore; I now find it terrible :D

Soft, Skin-Close Cuddle Cloud

Do you know that feeling? You are looking for a scent for everyday wear, one that you can use generously and that becomes a kind of signature fragrance.
Those who know my collection are aware that I have tried many in search of just that and still haven’t found it.
It was the reviews that led me to Ciel because of the powder and vanilla, two ingredients that I absolutely love. Of course, not available in local perfumeries, so I snagged it online for a horrendous price.
And indeed, upon spraying, pure powder, round, not dry, delicately floral. The vanilla is subtly blended in and not artificial at all. A delight for the nose.
And yet, this little gem will not become my new everyday scent. Too close to the skin, after a few minutes it sadly fades away, leaving only a hint of its beauty.
So, back to the search for the one and only...

Starting green-creamy, subtly vanilla, delicate floral, soft + violet root - slightly sweet. Followed by a resinous-balsamic almond note, gourmand. A fine fragrance. Affordable! Not cheap.
