I don't get the name
This should be named Mini Patchuli and not Mini Vanille.

I ordered this fragrance from Amazon since it was heavily discounted, even though it's only 25ml.
In the drying it has something that does not quite convince me and I would say that it is the strong smell of patchouli. I update info according to Ulric de Varens website:

Olfactory family: Woody Vanilla
Top note: apricot leaves, fresh mango, tangerine
Heart note: vanilla orchid, yellow freesia, white peony
Base note: patchouli, bourbon vanilla, tonka bean

If you are looking for a versatile vanilla aroma, this is not it, it smells more like patchouli, even reminding me of the Patchouli perfume from Reminiscence, which is a bomb. This is small but not harmless, it is another bomb but in a mini size.

At the moment it is a love hate relationship.

Surprising! Is it the better "Angel"?
Now I am really baffled...
I just went into the DM at the train station on my way to the train and randomly grabbed something from the fragrance shelf, without much expectation. And now it’s blowing me away with what this inconspicuous little budget fragrance Mini Vanille from Varens is doing on my wrist :-)
The first impression was, hmm yes, not at all an unpleasant, not at all a cloyingly sweet, not at all an artificial vanilla scent as expected!
Quite pleasant to wear, this stuff!
But then it really kicks in on my skin: it smells like a mix of Flowerbomb and Angel, really delicious, and over time the Angel notes become more dominant for me, with the vanilla only providing a gentle base note, while chocolate, dark fruit, and a bit of patchouli take command! What is this? The listed fragrance pyramid is really not accurate at all.
I cannot understand the many negative reviews; here we have a top-notch alternative for fans of Angel, Flowerbomb, and Wish at a mini price, sillage and longevity are also quite impressive. If you like this kind of scent, you absolutely must try it, I really have to sing the praises of this fragrance, for the ridiculous 3.50 euros that it costs, I haven't been this positively surprised in a long time.

Minimal Vanilla
Sometimes it's quite amusing to see which fragrances are rated poorly. You know what to avoid and chuckle at the creative comparisons and descriptions. However, I'm glad I didn't steer clear of Mini Vanilla because of its rating.

The comparison to chocolate sounded nice. Orange softcakes are also my thing, and 'too sweet' is often just right for me. It was also on sale, so in the worst case, I would have only been 3€ poorer. When I sprayed it on, it felt a bit like opening Pandora's box. What would I get? Chocolate? Burnt plastic? Trash?

Patchouli... At first, I noticed so much of it that it could almost have been a mono fragrance. Then sweet notes joined in. Not vanilla, but more like orange jelly and a bit of dark chocolate. So Mini Vanilla lingered relatively long - it definitely lasted better than other fragrances in the line.

The association with orange softcakes is definitely there, but they are served with plenty of patchouli. It does smell synthetic. However, I don't find that too bothersome, after all, Mini Vanilla isn't expensive.

Still, I can understand why this fragrance is rated relatively poorly - one thinks of a lightly sweet, fruity vanilla scent and gets hit with the patchouli-chocolate club. Additionally, the entire line targets a younger audience, and when I think about how poorly I reacted to Angel as a teenager, I can imagine what this one does to sensitive noses.

So, anyone hoping for a subtle vanilla scent might want to steer clear of Mini Vanilla. There are even better options in this price range.
For those looking for an affordable, rather unusual chocolate scent, it is definitely worth considering!

Mini Chocolate
The name is misleading. I have yet to find the vanilla that the name suggests, not even hidden somewhere in the base, and believe me, I am excellent at spotting vanilla.

However, the absence of the namesake does not mean one thing: that the scent is bad. It is not bad at all. It is just different than expected, namely (on me) completely unsweet and even quite bitter.

From the listed fragrance pyramid, I can smell not a single ingredient, absolutely nada, niente, nothing.

Instead, the scent starts with a slightly bitter fruit (which I still cannot properly identify, it is definitely not mango. Maybe a slightly bitter orange.) in dark, quite bitter chocolate.

And it is exactly this top note that spoiled the scent for me for a long time. Teen-Deirdre did not want one thing: to smell bitter! I certainly did not want anyone to suspect that I was wearing a men's perfume. I wanted to smell feminine (as all teenagers do... Just wanting to smell like one's own gender, thankfully that passes eventually ;) ). My father then tipped the scales with his comment about the freshly sprayed scent.

"Did you use my perfume again?"

How he came to that conclusion remains a mystery to me, as my father's perfumes at the time were L'Eau d'Issey and Herrera for Men, which have absolutely nothing in common with Mini Vanilla.
But well, the scent was dead to me and sank into oblivion.

Fortunately, I somehow never managed to throw the scent away.
The top note is still a tad too bitter for me (and too room-filling), but I absolutely do not find it bad anymore.

In the heart note, patchouli joins the chocolate and gives it depth, while taking away some of the gourmand touch.

In the base, there is no significant change; the scent becomes somewhat softer, a bit more caressing. I imagine I can smell some unsweet caramel (if caramel can even be unsweet ;) )
However, the scent never becomes really soft and cuddly. The bitterness carries through to the end, which I do not find bothersome at all, as it does not risk drifting into the sugary, sticky direction that many teen scents do.

All in all, I find the scent really good and absolutely not cheap-smelling. On the contrary, I have even received many compliments for it (if we overlook my father...). The longevity is also very good.

I would definitely recommend testing it yourself and not being put off by the bad comments here, because you won’t find such a delicious bitter chocolate for such little money anywhere else.

First Glue, Then Orange Cookie
My first reaction when I spray Mini Vanille is always: "Phew! Glue!" Unfortunately, the scent reminds me very much of super glue in the first half hour. Gradually and stealthily, however, the fragrance transforms into a plate full of dry orange cookies with dark chocolate coating, already slightly dusty. Admittedly, the plate has been sitting around for a while, and no one really wants to dig in. The chocolate coating has developed a fine layer of dust, and the cookies smell just a bit musty. Not biscuit-like Jaffa cakes, but crumbly butter cookies with orange flavor and dark chocolate.
This orange cookie scent lingers on my skin for quite a long time; overall, the fragrance lasts a good 5-6 hours on me with two sprays. The sillage is noticeable but not too overpowering, at least with this dosage.

I can't say whether Mini Vanille resembles Wish or Flowerbomb, as I no longer have a clear memory of those scents. However, I recently sniffed Angel and immediately thought: It smells just like my Mini Vanille! This is probably due to the dark chocolate and patchouli, which are not listed in the pyramid but are, in my opinion, clearly detectable. Some previous commentators seem to smell these ingredients as well :).

I'm not quite sure if I like the scent or not. I can only rarely (tolerate) it, and then only in autumn or winter when it's really cold outside. Then I find it quite delicious, but after wearing it once, I feel "saturated" and need a break from the scent. I personally wouldn't wear it in summer; I tried it once and immediately got a headache from the initial glue top note... This slight mustiness also bothers me a bit.

Overall, though, it's quite a nice scent if you like orange cookies and dark chocolate and can wait out the first half hour. Certainly worth a look for Angel lovers.
I probably won't repurchase it, as it's too specific and prickly for me.

Addendum: I tested Flowerbomb again today, and it indeed reminds me strongly of Mini Vanille. However, I find Flowerbomb more pleasant; with Mini Vanille, I have to wait about an hour before it reaches the Flowerbomb similarity.

Hate it, something in it is so synthetic that it turns my stomach especially the drydown.

I don't notice any vanilla. On me, it smells very pleasantly woody. A cozy scent for when it gets cold. Should be called Mini Patchouli.

To me, it smells more like patchouli than vanilla. But it's still a good scent.

For €2.95 (!!!), this is not bad at all! A lovely vanilla scent for everyday use. I've tested worse that cost ten times as much.

There are definitely worse ones. The name just doesn't fit at all - more like Mini Patchouli, or Mini Angel, because it goes in that direction.

Unfortunately, not a vanilla scent for me. This totally confused my nose. What bothered me? Unfortunately, everything. Indefinable...
