A bright and light scent in a golden bag

I'm a fan of the products by Ulric de Varens, although they could seem too cheap : there are many fragrances I like so much and one of these ones is Gold-Issime: it could be the perfect party scent.
First of all, let's take a look at the bag shaped bottle: maybe somebody could say that it's too girly, but I find it very nice and with that typical pretty "French touch" . Inside there's a bright and Golden scent very inviting.
So, let's spray and smell: immediately you are involved by a light flowery cloud with touches of Jasmine, orange blossom, ylang ylang. I didn't smell neither the aldehidic note I see in the composition nor the rice powder which might give the powdery charcater to this scent I 'd rather consider almost "sparkling".
Unfortunately, there's no base in this scent and it's a pity. I miss the presence of something deep , warm and longlasting such as musk or amber. For this reason, this scent is a quite evanescent pleasure.
Anyway, the price is very inviting and you can find in the drugstores or on the UdV site the packaging with the fragrance and the body spray at about 10€!
I don't know why (maybe for its golden-champagne colour?) I associate this scent to the parties and the New Years'eve , but for its lightness it could be worn in the summer nights.
So, girls of all ages, don't think that this scent is only for teenagers and put a touch of golden lightness in your life at a very affordable price!

I find this perfume to be a prime example that genius can be simple. It may have been inspired by the big perfumes from Chanel and Chloe (as mentioned by previous reviewers), but it has turned out really well. I can remember trying it a few years ago and finding it pleasant, but not more than that. Today, I appreciate it. I find it refreshingly lightly elegant. Refreshingly light in one word, meaning that the perfume is a lovely addition, not a statement in itself, making it easy to wear. It radiates that uncomplicated French lightness and elegance for me. Thanks to the sun-drenched review, it has finally become a wearable powder scent for me. Pure powder scents were somehow too much. This one combines the qualities of No. 5, powdery, slightly creamy, and even a hint of lipstick, but everything is very measured and subtle.

Right away, a powdery mishmash for me, aldehydes and jasmine plunge into the rice powder, the other flowers follow closely behind.
I think it's great, it's a mix of Love Chloe and No5.

In these times, everything is different, and one tries to visit as few stores as possible to gather everything needed for life. Shopping trips to the neighboring Netherlands, where I scored some great fragrances in Venlo, are currently on hold. But the ice will eventually melt again. Until then, I’ve been hunting for tissues and other essentials in local drugstores, also giving the fragrances a visit.

For a long time, I had my issues with UdV fragrances. I buy scents based on my nose, not by brand or price. That’s my life philosophy. However, last year I noticed that the brand was changing for the better. Recently, I bent down deeply and, after a brief almost blind test, pulled out the box with the travel spray from the very back.

Just the bottle in the travel size is worth its price. Although not suitable for on-the-go, it’s an eye-catcher. Not kitschy, but kept simple. A bit elegant.

But now to the content. With the first spray, I immediately detected a similarity to Chanel No. 5. Aldehydes mix with floral scents and a bitter hint of orange blossom. It’s also a bit powdery, and then everything comes together at a rapid pace. Energetic and dominant, but not loud like the old classic. Fortunately, the scratchy additions from Aunt Coco are also absent. All in all, very rounded and elegant. Classic without being intrusive.

I’ve always had an eye on No. 5, but there were always a few things about Chanel that held me back from making a purchase. Now I’ve found the scent that appeals to me. A bit of No. 5 but not so intrusive. Subtle, yet with a kick.

The longevity for me is perfectly fine at 3 1/2 hours.

Flowers in Rice Field

I do not like this fragrance. There is some note that bothers my sensitive nose and irritates my mucous membranes. It seems to be fresh-floral, but after the initially quite pleasant opening, a piercing, synthetic note emerges that does not work well on my skin. It might be the rice powder, which I also did not like in the corresponding Douglas scent.
