quite possibly my new all time favorite!
It's a sunny, breezy spring day outside, and the windows are open to the sounds of birdsong and windchimes. The mail has just been delivered, and you open up a plastic-sealed, brand new copy of a fashion magazine that you don't remember ordering. You flip through the book and lean in, pressing your nose into the spine for that wonderful aroma of crisp, glossy pages.
If you're anything like me, you've experienced a phenomenon where the little paper samples of perfumes that come in magazines always smell better than the real thing. At some point I finally accepted that it wasn't the perfumes I was loving so much, it was the scent of the magazine itself. And thus began my long search for a perfume that was reminiscent of that wonderful, somewhat synthetic/plasticky/inky aroma. Finally... I've found it.
I really can't express how happy I am. THIS is the scent I've been searching for, and I can't believe I've found it at VS of all places--not because I don't like their scents (I do) but just that this is the "odd" and atypical type of scent I'd expect to find from a house like Demeter, not a brand that is known for producing such basic (again, not saying that in a negative way, several of my favorites ARE from VS) scents. To put it simply, to my nose, on my skin, this smells EXACTLY like the glossy page of a fashion magazine. If you know, you know. I literally feel like I'm burying my nose into a brand new copy of vogue that just came in the mail.
There's the SLIGHTEST hint of something green (I'm guessing the volet leaf) but I only smell it if I try. Even so, this is by far the most "magazine" perfume I've found, and I couldn't be happier. Will be stopping by the outlet for a bigger backup bottle asap-- I can't help it!! This is like my new holy grail, and might be THE signature scent for me.
It might be silly to be this happy over a perfume, but after years of yearning... well, I AM this happy lol :D
