My least favourite Miss Dior flanker
Quite often the announcement of a new Summer flanker merits an over-the-top eye roll from me, but in regards to previous Miss Dior Cherie, (now simply named Miss Dior) flankers, Blooming Bouquet and Miss Dior Cherie L'Eau were nice surprises. I was hoping that Miss Dior eau Fraiche would leave me with the same impression.

I rather liked the opening with its fresh, watery citrus notes and a dash of sugar. I found it feminine and pleasing to my nose. I thought it perhaps more Spring appropriate with its sparkling citrus and floral accords.

However, the more Miss Dior eau Fraiche developed, the sharper it became. The citrus notes transformed into something quite acidic and strong, that when blended with the musky patchouli it only created what I call a nauseating blend.

Needless to say, I was not impressed. In my opinion, the fault lies in the transition from the opening to the heart, where the musty, green patchouli meets the somewhat synthetic citrus accords. These two polar opposite notes don't blend all too well, clashing rather than harmoniously mixing.

The drydown is much more pleasing to my nose, with a buttery blend of galbanum, patchouli and gardenia. I wish I could skip the heart altogether, and instead focus on the pleasant aspects of Miss Dior eau Fraiche. I can't say that the scent wore any better on fabric or on a piece of card, so the disaster was not my skin chemistry's doing.

I don't wish to make a comparison, but I find myself labelling Miss Dior eau Fraiche one of Miss Dior's most disappointing flankers. Seek out Blooming Bouquet for a beautiful, fresh floral interpretation, or Miss Dior Cherie L'eau for a delightful green citrus blend, before settling for this messy concoction.

metallic coolness
Today I treated myself to Eau Fraiche at the fragrance fair, as I really like my "old" Miss.
No tester available, so I showed some trust.

However, the Eau has nothing in common with the original Miss, and I only find it "fraiche" to a limited extent.

In any case, it carries a certain metallic coolness with it, which I still remember well from my days as a stainless steel saleswoman.
Citrus freshness is in vain here. Even the gardenia is frosted, which creates a strangely distant allure.
The patchouli is not warm either.

As pleasantly approachable as the original Miss Dior is, this Miss is not; yet it has a somewhat futuristic-galactic attraction that reminds me of Courrèges' fashion.

A scent that takes some getting used to, which doesn't make it easy for you, and where you have to think outside the box.

I'm still pondering its application - because I don't own a Barbarella outfit.

Stoned
I’ve now circled around this Miss several times, paper, cloth, and skin,
everything through and every time I think, this can’t be serious, "Where is the anesthetic law?"
No, honestly, it reminds me of Cannabis sativa, not in the way someone smokes it. No, more like the flowers, or a dried form of it.
Not that I find the scent unpleasant, but I am really torn about this being a perfume?
My strongest impression, by the way, was with the paper.

Today I tested it on my skin and the impression remains.
Only over time does it become milder and the marijuana impression fades significantly and transforms into a very nice, slightly sweet and herbaceous lingering base.

I was in the perfumery 3 hours ago and I can only still catch a hint on my wrist. But my skin seems to be a fast perfume metabolizer anyway.
I’m not daring to test it in my hair yet.

And isn’t there supposed to be little jasmine in it?
Did Mr. Demachy perhaps mix something up??
I usually run away from jasmine...
So Miss, I really don’t know what to think about you...

At first a bit unusual, but over time quite pleasant.
A fresh-floral, yet also herbal scent.
Longevity is not great.
