Quite a bad first impression
Smelled "Hoggar" by Yves Rocher (Contained in a bottle similar to the one containing D&G The One) a few days ago in a store here in the city, major retailers of the brand, a pretty nice guy attends there.
However, having smelled other alternatives of the brand such as Ambre Noir (Which i love, astounding creation, one of my favorite cardamom and resins / leather kinda frag which i did the review separately) and some others like for example the Autour De Minuit and Cuir de Nuit, i find Hoggar to be rather poor in its smell when compared to the previously mentioned perfumes of the brand. It's not bad but i find the aroma rather close to insecticide or an Axe bodyspray in particular. Not disgusting at all but not something i find a "good" perfume or that i would wear.

Bottom line: Your opinion might differ heavily. This one was not for me at all, i will try to see if i can get the Autour de Minuit and Garden Party in offer and get some nice higher end unisex modern perfumery from those creations. As long as i know, Hoggar is not signed by any perfumer, opposite to others like Ambre Noir (C. Raynaud) and Bois de Sauge / Cuir Vetiver (Sonia Constant) so that would explain its rather poor choice of notes, from my point of view.

Idurar n Ahaggar
I owned it some years ago. Re-bought it and I'm satisfied with choice made. I think it's the best men perfume from Yves Rocher. I like Cuir Vetiver and Ambre Noir, but I like more Hoggar. As far as I noted, they only changed the bottle (it doesn't have anymore the brown gradient color, but still have the unique shape), but the smell is the same.
It doesn't smell at all as 1 Million or Le Male, as some commented on other sites. It smells better than them, ie exceptional! It has a very pleasant aromatic and resinous/balsamic smell, with a strong woody component. To me it seems quite unique and it smells pretty expensive, too. No more synthetic than other more expensive perfumes. ;)
Also it DON'T smell like Davidoff Silver Shadow (how ppl say) at all. I own both and they are different.

My overall note - 9/10, a definitely must have.

For first impression
Not only from my grandmothers I get the flacons pushed in. This one is also from a fellow student, the last one. Thanks again, Maxim. I left him standing there for a long time. He was at a loss. Not anymore
For the start I join Leimbacher: Cinnamon! The bergamot probably enhances the facets of the tonka bean. Its other accents, saffron-like, carnation-like, are less apparent. The berga itself is not as fresh as usual, not as sparkling, not as clear. Perhaps these are already the influences of the wood? This is also evident early on, darkly tart with faint hints of cocoa and coffee. After the first explosion of subtle spice and the spread of the tart tones, woodiness gradually becomes apparent. The Sillage is a little bit more than body-hugging, so it could pass as decent. Unfortunately Hoggar never had any endurance with me, after a maximum of 4 hours it was always over.

To me Hoggar sounds like a companion for job interviews after these lines. Subtle, does little wrong, and after the one interview, it's over. For the first impression was enough.
