Has nothing to do with peonies...
I've had that bottle for half an eternity. When I bought it I was already disappointed and that didn't get better over the years. I love peonies, but apparently I don't have the varieties that the perfume is supposed to represent in the garden. For me a flowery, slightly sweet fragrance wue many others and definitely has its lovers...but for me it was unfortunately a disappointment.

Sweet, sweet, flowery and tender
There it stands before me, slim, elegantly curved, in the iced pink 60 ml bottle. I didn't even know I still had it. But when I rediscovered the beautifully shaped flacon today, the memory of the fragrance was immediately present, as if there hadn't been all those years when I had forgotten Pur Désir de Pivoine EdT.

Pur Désir de Pivoine means "pure desire for peonies", if my somewhat dusty knowledge of French does not fool me. "de" means "from", but that makes - at least in German - little sense.

That it had come to the point where I had erased the perfume from my memory is no coincidence. My taste in perfume has evolved. Sweet and floral, I got bored with it over time. Although - among the floral scents I especially appreciate Pivoine, the peony. But only the artificial one, I must add right away. With real peonies, as beautiful as they are to look at, I have not yet had any special experiences in terms of fragrance. But similar to orchid, which - except perhaps vanilla - doesn't smell, I know exactly what to expect when a perfume contains peony or orchid in its fragrance.

This synthetic peony scent, which in my opinion surpasses the natural one in fragrance, is for me the epitome of a romantic, possibly also nostalgic floral scent. It makes you think of secret, old gardens, of dreamy girls in long, white dresses. For me, peony is a typical spring scent: light, sweet, flowery, natural, tender and romantic. In the last years I didn't feel like smelling like that. But today, now that I've found this beautiful flacon again, I'm tempted to spray the fragrance on.

First impressions are sweet. And flowery. Yes, this is the peony as I know it: sweet, delicate, gentle - but also green. Quickly a freshness develops, which accentuates the floral scent in a pleasantly cool way. At least for a while. All too soon, the fragrance is as it is. It then remains that way, without undergoing any kind of development. And what is it like? I'd say it's somewhere between violet, lily of the valley, lilac and lily - or a mixture of all of these. Peony. Lovely, sweet, flowery - no more, no less. Pleasing, but a little too little. Too one-dimensional. So I can't think of much else I could write about him.

Yes, the durability - it really is surprisingly long. The fragrance can withstand almost everything, even hand washing and many hours. It can be perceived on textiles for days. Of course, this is only very close, but not at all disturbing. Many big, expensive fragrances can learn something from Yves Rocher
I can imagine this fragrance very well on very young girls, perhaps as an introduction to the world of fragrances. But what am I saying? The EdT no longer exists. The series "Pur Désir de", which also existed with lily and mimosa, rose, gardenia and lavender, as I remember, was discontinued a long time ago. The pleasant peony scent will certainly continue to exist in the world of fragrances. Although I have noticed that I haven't come across a perfume in which the peony has played a role for a long time. Romantic floral fragrances are probably a bit out of fashion - like "Pur Désir de Pivoine".

My spring scent of peonies
Since yesterday I am wearing the beautiful springlike Pur Desir de Pivoine again. This beautiful soliflor is from the unique Pur Desir series by Yves Rocher. The Pur Desir -series was released in the two thousand years and has unfortunately been completely discontinued in the meantime. It included wonderfully flowery soliflors, simply but elegantly made. There was a lilac scent, a mimosa scent, orange blossom scent, lavender scent, a carnation rose scent, a gardenia scent, a lily scent and this very peony scent Some of them I really liked to wear as a ladylike everyday scent in those days. In the meantime they are unfortunately hard to get and often at exorbitant prices. Since I have been with Parfumo, I have succeeded in getting hold of all the Pur Desir fragrances. The Pur Desir collection is, or was (I have used up the orange blossom scent in the meantime) complete Now to the actual scent of my comment (so far I only praised the beautiful series...).
Pur Desir de Pivoine is a peony scent!
This would actually already describe the pyramid of fragrance. But what a beautiful peony scent it is! Pure peony. As if one were to stick one's nose into a freshly blossomed, lush, delicate pink flower of the peony. It smells like a whole peony bush. Delicate, fresh and yet intense and very natural. Like a freshly stuffed peony bouquet. Simply beautiful! A fragrance that dispels sorrow and worry with its flowery lightness. Something slightly apple-like I can possibly still hear, which supports the peony freshness rather still. The Sillage is not so shy at the beginning, rather intensive flowery. The shelf life is in the middle range. Just a fragrance for lovers of the peony.
As a young woman I often wore this at work. I used up a whole 60 ml bottle back then. Always elegant and ladylike, delicate and yet not too shy, it fits perfectly as an everyday fragrance for mild spring days. Only with the launch date of 2007 I was a bit surprised. I remembered it a few years earlier. Anyway, I'm glad to have a small stock, so I can't run out of this beautiful fragrance anymore.

Pure Peony
Pure Peony. It's straight. The scent doesn't evolve very much. Very floral but not overpowering. I feel carefree while wearing it. One of my colleagues sometimes wears it too and it smells very pleasant. However, I don't consider it a very personal scent, more like an additional fragrance to smell good. I used up a bottle but don't feel the urge to repurchase it right away. But it certainly is a lovely frangrance.
