Joy Without a Bitter Note
Today I curiously tried Iris Noir - after all, Yves Rocher always has beautiful surprises in store.

And right from the start, I perceive velvety soft iris, fortunately without any bitterness.
The friendly scent is not marred by a "bitter note".

Bergamot and mandarin exude brightness, subtly blending in, emphasized by lively pepper.
Patchouli and tonka bean are also soft, skillfully rounding off the harmonious fragrance.
However, the leading role is taken by the creamy iris butter, which also adds depth.

Iris Noir is suitable for both day and evening wear.
Although it is not heavy, it is characterized by good longevity.

I will have to stop by Yves Rocher more often!

Thanks to Estate for the lovely gift.

Strong and Gentle at the Same Time
Hmm… Yves Rocher is a brand that really doesn’t need much explanation, as it is likely known to most. Therefore, it is all the more surprising that I have strangely never described a fragrance from them here!

Of course, this must change immediately, after all, I have to stick my nose into everything!! :D
You all need to be able to say later that there is no fragrance that DonJuanDeCat hasn’t commented on. But please do me the favor and say this as little derogatorily as possible and without rolling your eyes… *sigh* :D

Anyway, I’m starting here with a fragrance that sounds quite nice, as iris, tonka bean, and such notes always sound appealing. In general, I find that powdery scents are usually lovely and especially suit you ladies quite well, and sometimes even us gentlemen (e.g., with fragrances like Dior Homme, etc…).

The Fragrance:
The fragrance starts with quite intense pink pepper, which provides both a strong spiciness and a nice sweetness. However, despite the intensity of the pepper, the scent is soft and gentle, making it not intrusive. Presumably, the iris contributes to the soft scent progression, even if it shouldn’t really be detectable at the beginning. Additionally, I smell somewhat fruity-sweet mandarins and gradually also an amber-like scent.
Soon, the iris becomes more noticeable and recognizable as iris. The spicy notes remain well detectable but slightly diminish compared to the beginning of the fragrance.
Later, it continues to be spicy, and this impression is further intensified towards the base, plus you can now also smell earthy patchouli. And if I’m not mistaken, I would describe the base alongside the earthy, spicy, and powdery notes as somewhat woody as well.

The Sillage and Longevity:
Although the fragrance starts quite strong, it weakens further, so I would describe the sillage at best as average, which will hardly be detectable at greater distances.
The longevity is also just about average, which I mean to be around six to eight hours, as I feel that most fragrances smell best within this time before they become too weak.

The Bottle:
The bottle is mostly cylindrical and has a purple gradient. There is no label, so the name of the fragrance has been printed on the bottle. The transparent cap could represent the top of a column in shape. A nicely made bottle.

Hmm, the fragrance turned out to be spicier than I initially assumed. However, this certainly doesn’t mean it is any less beautiful; rather, it comes across as a bit more mature. Of course, the fragrance is, as expected from the notes, also creamy and powdery, which makes it quite pleasant.

The fragrance is especially suitable for those who want a gentle yet spicy scent that is not particularly sweet. I would love to write now that it would surely not be wrong to test this fragrance, but I see that it unfortunately seems to no longer be available.

In terms of scent, I would almost describe it as an all-rounder except for winter, although it probably fits best in spring. It is generally a nice fragrance, so it could be used very well both during the day and in the evening. Yes, it’s really a shame that this fragrance is no longer available!

Yeah! You see, if I hadn’t stuck my nose into this fragrance, I wouldn’t have been able to delight you with another comment… hmm… even if my comment might have been a bit shorter this time… but today is Monday, and on Mondays we are all known to be lazy sloths, or at least lazier than usual because we don’t like the start of the week that much, so I’ll end now and wish everyone a lovely evening… :)

Berries!
I have had this much lighter version of Iris Noir for a while and I really enjoy wearing the scent. The Eau Fraiche is less complex than the EDP but also more suitable for everyday wear and easier to carry.
While in the original the blackcurrant theme is more of a subtle undertone (so days 2-4, it lasts that long *g*), with the EDT it is clear to say:
This is all about blueberries! Even though they are not mentioned at all.
At first, the berry is introduced with a citrus-fruity freshness, which harmonizes wonderfully, but soon unfolds simply as beautifully blueberry blue, aromatic and distinctly clear and airy with just a touch of patchouli for grounding.
I find the Eau Fraiche really elegant and chic and I don't know any other fruit-heavy scent that comes across as so stylish and sophisticated. It absolutely does not go in the little girl direction at all.
It lasts all day and remains present without being overwhelming.
I also like the large half "frosted" bottle. It fits the overall refreshing impression of the scent, even though I wouldn't describe it as cold. It wears just as beautifully in summer as it does in winter.
A chic, tasteful scent that deserves much more attention and whose lineage from the EDP is recognizable, yet still brings its own character.

Lila Laune Fragrance
Iris Noir starts off fresh and fruity, putting you in a good mood for the day. A few minutes later, the powdery iris takes center stage. Patchouli and tonka bean round it off, giving Iris Noir EDT a certain elegance paired with a cool freshness. The EDT maintains its lightness; it is more suitable for everyday wear and softer than the EDP, which develops a certain heaviness over time and is a bit sweeter. A fragrance that is wearable for many occasions, both at work and for going out. The ideal season is spring, although warmer autumn days also allow the scent to shine. For me, Iris Noir EDT is also conceivable as an evening fragrance on mild summer nights. The longevity is very good for an EDT.

Berries?
I had swapped this fragrance blindly and had a real stroke of luck.
How beautiful the scent becomes! In the heart note, I perceive berries, so I had to think again about what I had used in the morning.... I first thought of Fraicheur Muskissime by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, which develops the same way on my skin.
I don't smell patchouli, thankfully ;)
A lovely fragrance! And I'm usually such an anti-Yves-Rocher snob ;)...

An elegant, powdery-sweet iris nestled between citrus-spicy aromas and an earthy-sweet base. That's well done.

Fresh spice, with the iris being powdery soft and elegant.
Tonka and patchouli add depth to the fragrance.
