Hmm… Yves Rocher is a brand that really doesn’t need much explanation, as it is likely known to most. Therefore, it is all the more surprising that I have strangely never described a fragrance from them here!
Of course, this must change immediately, after all, I have to stick my nose into everything!! :D
You all need to be able to say later that there is no fragrance that DonJuanDeCat hasn’t commented on. But please do me the favor and say this as little derogatorily as possible and without rolling your eyes… *sigh* :D
Anyway, I’m starting here with a fragrance that sounds quite nice, as iris, tonka bean, and such notes always sound appealing. In general, I find that powdery scents are usually lovely and especially suit you ladies quite well, and sometimes even us gentlemen (e.g., with fragrances like Dior Homme, etc…).
The Fragrance:
The fragrance starts with quite intense pink pepper, which provides both a strong spiciness and a nice sweetness. However, despite the intensity of the pepper, the scent is soft and gentle, making it not intrusive. Presumably, the iris contributes to the soft scent progression, even if it shouldn’t really be detectable at the beginning. Additionally, I smell somewhat fruity-sweet mandarins and gradually also an amber-like scent.
Soon, the iris becomes more noticeable and recognizable as iris. The spicy notes remain well detectable but slightly diminish compared to the beginning of the fragrance.
Later, it continues to be spicy, and this impression is further intensified towards the base, plus you can now also smell earthy patchouli. And if I’m not mistaken, I would describe the base alongside the earthy, spicy, and powdery notes as somewhat woody as well.
The Sillage and Longevity:
Although the fragrance starts quite strong, it weakens further, so I would describe the sillage at best as average, which will hardly be detectable at greater distances.
The longevity is also just about average, which I mean to be around six to eight hours, as I feel that most fragrances smell best within this time before they become too weak.
The Bottle:
The bottle is mostly cylindrical and has a purple gradient. There is no label, so the name of the fragrance has been printed on the bottle. The transparent cap could represent the top of a column in shape. A nicely made bottle.
Hmm, the fragrance turned out to be spicier than I initially assumed. However, this certainly doesn’t mean it is any less beautiful; rather, it comes across as a bit more mature. Of course, the fragrance is, as expected from the notes, also creamy and powdery, which makes it quite pleasant.
The fragrance is especially suitable for those who want a gentle yet spicy scent that is not particularly sweet. I would love to write now that it would surely not be wrong to test this fragrance, but I see that it unfortunately seems to no longer be available.
In terms of scent, I would almost describe it as an all-rounder except for winter, although it probably fits best in spring. It is generally a nice fragrance, so it could be used very well both during the day and in the evening. Yes, it’s really a shame that this fragrance is no longer available!
Yeah! You see, if I hadn’t stuck my nose into this fragrance, I wouldn’t have been able to delight you with another comment… hmm… even if my comment might have been a bit shorter this time… but today is Monday, and on Mondays we are all known to be lazy sloths, or at least lazier than usual because we don’t like the start of the week that much, so I’ll end now and wish everyone a lovely evening… :)
