smells like a Christmas market

I wanted to try something new and decided on a blind purchase. I was able to snag the bottle at a good price, and I actually love blind buys - even if they sometimes result in misses. Unfortunately, this was one such miss.

The scent... how should I put it? Burnt, smoky wood, with an extremely sweet and overpowering cotton candy / marshmallow note. I think this fragrance aims to replicate exactly that - a campfire - so it’s really well done, and compliments to that. But I just feel that this combination doesn’t fit together here, or rather, I don’t want to smell like a Christmas market. Above all, the whole thing also smells very artificially constructed.

Longevity is there! Sillage as well. But it doesn’t matter if the scent isn’t good.
Ultimately, it’s a matter of taste - and for me, this is absolutely not it.

If you’re looking for a sweet winter fragrance, I think you’d be better off elsewhere. If it should be something inexpensive (in the same price range), then for example the Liquid Brun from French Avenue. A thousand times better.

Spicy Wood Scent

For me, the fragrance mainly smells of wood, dry, smoky, and slightly burnt. Just as the name suggests.

I think it is excellent for layering, to give other perfumes a spicy, woody depth.

Although the scent is officially considered unisex, I find it a bit too masculine in its aura for my personal taste. I therefore gifted it to my brother, and he enjoys wearing it very much. The fragrance is also well-received by others.

...Autumn Evening. We are sitting with friends by the Flaucher and have made a small campfire. The girls brought mulled wine in a thermos, and the guys brought a crate of beer. One of them brought a guitar and is singing along. Greetings from youth.

When applying this perfume, the nose is greeted with a warm, lightly sweet burnt wood accord. This remains constant throughout and gives it a masculine touch. Slowly, spicy and floral notes emerge from the background. The accords of chestnut join in. More woody notes follow. Over time, the perfume becomes creamy and is enveloped in a delicate smoky masculine scent. This fragrance is very close to the original By the Fireplace and is also quite good.

The longevity and sillage are good on my skin.

I see this unisex fragrance leaning more towards men than women due to its smoky woody masculine accord. On colder days, and even in summer, I can easily imagine it in the office or in the evening at a bar, club, etc., during a meal with a loved one or friends.
Of course, women can and should try this scent. Perhaps one or the other will find it appealing.

If you enjoy a smoky, woody, slightly sweet masculine fragrance, this is the right choice. This is certainly not an everyday scent. Personally, I have embraced it in my fragrance heart. For a copy of a scent from Maison Margiela, it is very good.

Winter by the Fireplace, Even in Spring

A winter by the fireplace with a glass of bourbon in hand... however, it’s currently 20 degrees.
Doesn't matter, because Bonfire is a perfume that instantly transports me to a cozy atmosphere.
The combination of warm notes and a light wood note reminds me of the warmth of a fireplace.
It’s a perfect scent for cold winter days, but even now in spring, it conveys a light sweetness that envelops me.
The amber note in the drydown is not too overpowering, and the longevity for me is about 8 hours. For the price, it’s truly a successful fragrance that develops beautifully throughout the day.
A great choice for anyone who loves warm and comforting scents.
