Rose journey into love
She had been looking forward to this experience so much: picking roses!
In the middle of the fragrant fields, surrounded by the sensual scent, harvesting the almost still dormant blossoms: she really wanted to experience that!
Now she stood here with the other participants of the rose journey, the large apron, the front part of which consisted almost entirely of a large bag, untied in front of her and yawned: dawn!
Oh, yes! She shuffled somewhat sullenly after the excitedly chattering group. What had she gotten herself into? There would be coffee later, too ...
But as soon as she stood in the middle of the field among the rose bushes still wet with morning dew, everything changed as if by magic; she had met the Rose Fairy!
The rich scent of the morning fresh roses, the touch of the delicate pink flower heads nestled trustingly in her hand before she pinched them off; the rays of the early yet already warming sun gilded the picture before her and the songs of the professional local pickers sounded nearby. Experienced folklore!
Full of eagerness, she followed the instructions and filled the large bag in front of her belly: aromatic and sweet, pink-rose scented was her harvest.
Like the others, she delivered the result of her labor to the large wooden barn.
How sensual it smelled from the great wooden vats that held the rose petals after they were weighed.
Happily, lingering in the moment, she took the coffee cup offered to her.
Then she saw him for the first time: what fairy eyes beamed upon her!
At this point, at the latest, the spark flew: the magic of the roses was working!
Their fragrant magic wand was waved above them.
Tired? Who was tired here? She vibrated with life!
Together they sang in the bed of the truck as they escorted the fragrant cargo to the small manufactory for further processing.
They spent the days of this rose journey together: laughing and eagerly cooking rose jam and rose syrup; candying rose petals: in short, sinking a little more into the world of roses each day!
Their own rose-water and rose-perfume had turned out well, but they did not need it.
They floated on the pink fragrance cloud of rose blossoms; camped with well-filled picnic basket beside flowering fields and bathed, caressed by the scent of roses, in the little pond.
They talked and talked, getting to know each other better.
Dreamlike and imperceptible, time passed; the rose goddess accompanied them through days and nights.
Would they meet again?
"Ce Soir ou Jamais" - tonight or never!
On my first encounter with this fragrance, I was leaning towards "never"!
A lightly fruity yet quite full-bodied wave of roses rolled over me, infused with a subtle hint of musk.
No! That was too much for me and I intended to send this bottling back to the nice Parfumista from whom I had received it. She was, by the way, my first contact with "Parfumo" and was disappointed by my assessment: after all, she had waited a long time until she could finally buy a flacon of this Annick Goutal fragrance at an auction at a reasonably reasonable price.
It remained, however, with the intention; the bottling disappeared into the deepest depths of one of the jewelry boxes with fragrance samples and came forward only during my last phase of order.
I did what any of us would do: sprayed, sniffed, sniffed again - and was caught!
This time, the rose goddess had triumphed in her radiant sun robe - I surrendered to her and didn't regret it either!
So after years, it was "Qui! Ce Soir!"
My great time of rose fragrances is long gone and yet I don't like to miss out on discovering new and familiar scents; even if I don't like to wear them all the time anymore, I still want to get to know them better!
Meanwhile, I have learned that the fragrances of the ladies of Goutal are not particularly long-lasting.
But since I like the brand, I'm happy to keep replenishing when the flow of fragrance evaporates, but I'm not yet saturated!
So I have also used up this fragrant remnant of a very early "Parfumo" acquaintance. Much was not left; but enough to enchant me and take me on a journey, which I actually always wanted to undertake.
A good acquaintance of mine has been organizing "rose trips" to her native Bulgaria for years, and from her I borrowed the details for my little rose story.
Unfortunately, the two trips planned for the previous year also had to be cancelled.
But she was thrilled with my idea of a rose trip in words, my "Rose Queen"!
