Surprisingly good!!
On a trip to my local niche perfumery a couple of days ago (I say local, but it's an hour away by car lol) I happened to pass the Thomas Sabo jewelry store and was struck by a few enticing pieces in their window. I'm such a magpie ... anything shiny and sparkly elicits 'oohs' and 'aahs' of predatory desire from my lips ... and then I saw the fragrances!!

Testers of Charm Rose and Charm Kiss were enticingly displayed, surrounded by bracelets and lots of delicate little charms that one could attach to them, all prettily twinkling in the halogen lights! I was intrigued to say the least ... and then immediately disappointed when Charm Rose turned out to be a synthetic mess of phenyl ethyl alcohol and straight up geraniol. I didn't bother with the 'Kiss' version and turned my attention back to the shiny stuff, eventually purchasing a braided leather bracelet with a chunky, worked silver clasp. Upon paying for my purchase, the sales assistant made reference to their two new fragrances (not available in-store yet) and added samples of Rebel at Heart and Glam 'n Soul to my bag.
I added them to the pile on my desk, and at a loose end this evening thought "what the hell ..." and let rip! Glam 'n Soul can be done without (a boring celeb like thing) but OH!! ... what a surprise Rebel at Heart has turned out to be!
Spicy and Woody in a very contained way, the initial half an hour of this one smells like a top end niche. I'm generally not a fan of Cumin in fragrances because of the 'unwashed armpit' vibe it tends to present my nose with. Strangely enough this note is well presented here, probably kept in check by a delicious Cedar and the sweetness of Bay Oil (which is mentioned on the sample package).
A very nice base quite heavy on the Patchouli and Tonka leaves one feeling that Rebel at Heart is one of those happy accidents ... something from a catalogue of fragrances that's turned out to be really good! The silage and longevity (while adequate) are certainly not stellar, but then neither are those of some really outrageously priced fragrances I have tried lately!

This fragrance reads like an Amouage or a Lutens!! Hideous bottle aside I would recommend seeking this out and giving it a try. I think I'll get some when it's available here :) ...

A Rebel? More like a Milk Baby!
And what a one it is! Infused with a lot of synthetic notes and a breath that is only filled with insignificance and a strange woody note. Sometimes I really wonder what people were thinking when they created this? Thomas Sabo has more or less dabbled in fragrances. None of them are particularly good and none knock me off my feet. The price for the perfumes is not particularly high, but by no means appropriate. Because what is offered is a uniform mush. A scent of the milk baby. A scent of synthetics. Simply repulsive and unsexy. Not even a hint of elegance can be perceived here. Not even good enough to take out the trash.

I find the opening to be very piercing, and right away you can hear that all-too-familiar synthetic note that is abundant in such perfumes. You surely know what I mean. Individual components are really very hard to detect here. Nothing dominates. Everything is on the same level and feels sticky, underscored by a woody note that somehow gives me the creeps. It seems like a mushroom has grown out of it. The spiciness feels very flat, not present at all or even masculine. A broth smells better.

Thank God the scent doesn’t last long and quickly becomes invisible. The bottle is not only an eyesore but also uncomfortable to hold. Not particularly handy and made of total cheap plastic.

That was a flop, dear Thomas Sabo.
Better stick to your jewelry and don’t scare people away!

You little show-off
I almost fell for you, putting on a black (leather) jacket that turns out to be cheap plastic when touched, standing in front of me and casually juggling overripe oranges.
What thoughts I had, James Dean or at least Marlon! Blasphemy!
Just Horst, oh what am I saying, not even Peter!
And faster than I can say "one," you lose the fruit and it bursts overripe in the dust. Loser, besides, you have no stamina!
But you are sticky, damn sticky, thank heaven you exhale your earthly life after an hour.
But I know you, I've encountered you somewhere before, in the late 70s of the last century. I couldn't stand you back then either.

Boring, not just at heart!
Rebel at Heart, what a sensational name for such an unmotivated little fragrance.
With a name like that, one should be cautious, as it raises expectations that should be met.

It doesn't smell as terrible as it does on my previous commentator, but it's not a winner either. And if something is rebelling here, it's my purchasing behavior!

The opening reminds me of artificial fruit sauce and is very overpowering for a brief moment. However, the intensity then decreases at lightning speed, and after about 5 minutes, Rebel is only detectable directly on the skin.

What can be called the heart note is a sluggish spice mix, where nothing wants to take the lead.

What remains is a scent reminiscent of old popcorn as a base, and after about 40 minutes, there's nothing left of Rebel at Heart.

Fortunately, I didn't smell like the aforementioned corpse that was buried in the woods!

Doesn't work at all...
Today I tested it with great expectations. As a fan of the jewelry pieces from the "Rebel at heart" line by Thomas Sabo, I was curious to see how the adaptation as a fragrance would smell. I already found the charm fragrances for women extremely intrusive, cheap in scent, and somehow... well, forgive me for the expression: tacky... in my opinion fitting to the corresponding jewelry line, which I also find somewhat childish.

Well, from Rebel at heart I would have expected something powerful, dynamic, masculine... but what I smelled was moldy moss.

So far, the sillage and longevity of the "fragrance" have been rated as very weak... I can only say: if only it were so! Even after showering and an hour of sports training, I still smelled like a corpse hidden in the woods. There's nothing worse than a terrible scent that you can't get rid of.

I found the fragrance development to be very linear, so there are no major surprises after spraying; if someone likes it from the start, they will probably still be enthusiastic about it hours later, but that was definitely not the case for me.

Bitter orange, cardamom, and cinnamon in the top notes... nothing there that would really brighten up this earthy, musty smell... in the heart, clove and caraway are very present, which was already hard to bear on a summer day like today... but the kicker is the base, where I smell nothing of the white musk that could soften it a bit, and instead the smoky bouquet of a forest fire almost disgusts me.

By far the worst fragrance I have smelled in a long time.

Very disappointing.

The scent strongly reminds me of my grandparents' old wooden furniture. Nostalgia is present, but as a wearable fragrance, I'm not sure....

I have to defend it: it's not as bad as it's being portrayed here. Nothing new, but definitely not "disgusting."

The bottle looks like the Death Star. The scent is just as deadly. We can only wait for rebels to shoot this thing down.
