Pucci for Men vol.1
Finally, Signor Vivara and Monsieur Zadig have made it to this forum, they absolutely deserve it! :-)
I discovered both fragrances a few years ago in a small private perfumery in Alghero, Sardinia. The shop was run by two sisters, both at least 70+, and not only were the two ladies fashionably stuck in the 1970s/1980s, but the selection at Profumeria Carmela was also frozen in time; I rarely found so many long-lost rarities as I did there.
Among them were indeed these men's fragrances from the house of Pucci.
Signor Vivara is a special representative of the leather fragrance category, very pronounced leathery-animalistic with a powdery sweetness. Unfortunately, the only direct comparisons that come to mind are a discontinued Ted Lapidus pour Homme and Cravache by Robert Piguet before the, in my opinion, somewhat too light reformulation.
The bottles for both fragrances were identical, while the boxes featured the typically floral, psychedelic designs of Pucci, with the name of the fragrance laid over in golden capitals on a black bar above. For Signor Vivara, these color accents were more in brown, green, and turquoise, while for Monsieur Zadig, they were in turquoise, green, pink, and lilac. Somewhere in the depths of 22 unpacked moving boxes in my cellar, there are still bottles and boxes of these two unique fragrances; a photo will follow at some point, I promise! :-)
Recently, I saw a limited edition of both fragrances at a flea market in Milan, complete with Pucci silk ties in the matching design for a sadly utopian price....
