A milky bottle of strawberry cream liqueur
Fraise Fouettée is like pouring a bottle of strawberry cream liqueur on your skin - complete with the milky-pink "en l'eau" semi-opaque juice.
The note breakdown to me is:
- 40% bright + artificial strawberry syrup (almost leans into "cherry chapstick" territory)
- 15% smooth liqueur (not too dark or boozy, just enough to have a "bite")
- 40% watery cream
- 5% a dash of coconut milk
I don't detect any other notes - no orange, banana, heliotrope, or butter. It's a simple blend that brings back happy nostalgia for me, like:
Strawberry-scented baby dolls, but without the powder/plastic.
Cherry-flavored Lipsmacker balm from the 90s, minus the wax/lipstick component.
A glass of Nesquik-brand strawberry milk, with the red syrup is still swirling on the top as you stir.
(The liqueur does give a grownup spin on these milky strawberry memories of childhood, so it doesn't feel too "juvenile".)
All notes are present throughout wearing, but the artificial strawberry + liqueur "bite" does soften soon after spraying - making way for a creamier dry-down.
It starts loudly, but turns into a soft scent bubble pretty soon after opening. I'm going on 4 hours of still smelling it (even if softly), so I'd say it's a win for $25 USD!
