stormy black sea
I have never had a good relationship with marine perfumes, until I tried Lorenzo's Black sea. It is a perfume that certainly recalls a dark stormy sea, with ozonated, salty hints, but which are accompanied by creamy and floral notes of Orange blossom and Ylang Ylang that give it a nice interesting background, almost a hint of ink, I also hear a chord that reminds me of the smell of mint. The dry down, long and infinite, accompanies us for many, many hours, attracting a lot of attention and compliments.
Definitely a nice perfume to try, I, not seasoning certain fragrances, I consider it easily wearable in all periods of the year.

Well... where do I start with this wonder?
As you spray it, the notes that stand out the most and will stand out for quite a while (say, two hours or so) are the ozone and the bergamot.
It smells, literally, like ozone. Like an ozone cleaning machine like the ones used to be used to put knives in at butcher shops, or the ones used to deodorize large rooms.
This is just the start, as soon as it relaxes a little, the pungent citrus of the bergamot and the salt come out, but not a wet salt like that of the sea, just salt.

After the projection time, which I already told you is spectacular, the sea comes out. Those marine touches, of a huge expanse of water, that smell of salt when you are in the middle of nowhere with a small boat, deep into the sea. All accompanied by something floral in the background, the ylang-ylang suits it perfectly, but for me, the orange blossom goes quite unnoticed.

When it settles, you can still notice the salt, the algae come out, more ylang-ylang and a lot of patchouli, perhaps a bit of that white and somewhat mossy musk. The algae give it an even saltier touch but it is a curious saltiness because if you think of algae, the smell of the beach at low tide quickly comes to mind, those stagnant waters and algae stopped on the shore, but no, it is very clean.

The duration, well, on skin easily +12h and on clothes 2/6 working days nights days rain or wind, I put it on last week on a shirt that I have in the laundry basket and it still gives off the smell of patchouli and seaweed.

The season for this perfume is certainly spring, 100000000000% summer and early autumn, when it still endures that daytime and evening heat. Daytime and also nighttime perfume, it projects a lot with an unusual smell and makes you stand out A LOT among so many Creed Aventus and its imitations and among so much Acqua di Gio.

Its age range of use is obviously for people in adulthood, this does not suit a 20-year-old or younger kid at all, no matter how many boat shoes and dad's Mini Cooper keychain he wears. This is for people in their twenties as far as you want.

You certainly wouldn't wear this to go out to dinner or lunch, this is to stand out, this fills rooms, elevators, dining rooms, outdoors is where it goes perfectly and you don't poison anyone (not even yourself). This is to go out and say "here I am" and even more so because of the peculiar aroma it has.

145€ for 50ml, I would say expensive, but with three sprays it lasts a lifetime so, its price is moderate at the end of the day when you get home and say "damn this still smells like hell"

In short: The sea in a bottle, a sea that deceives by appearing clean at first, but deep and dangerous after a while. A sea that makes you stand out, among the norm, a sea that makes people wonder "mmm what is she wearing smells different and good". A sea that lasts and lasts.

Briney Spice Beast
This is salt crusted drift wood getting tangled in seaweed and washing up on shore in the middle of the night. This is a dark marine scent that is has some woodiness but is really a beast of brine and spice. This smells like Profumum Roma's Acqua di Sale and Dior's Sauvage had a baby. The spice does soften some as you wear it but its still toes the line of being just a little too harsh. Not sure if I would call this fresh, it felt a little like all natural sea debris that gives it a little bit of grime to the fragrance. Definitely a great pick if you want something more masculine leaning that Acqua di Sale and more interesting than Sauvage.

This fragrance lasted all day, about 8 hours on my skin. It also was very aromatic, leaving a fairly strong scent trail behind me where ever I went. There are two sizes and prices available starting at 28ml for €110 and 50ml for €145.

I wish I loved this one...
because it's unlike anything I've smelled so far*. I am reading all the notes, and I am just nodding in agreement, I can detect each top and heart note listed. It doesn't happen often to me. I don't hate it, but there is something off-putting about it, almost to the point of making my stomach churn. I am testing Burberry Hero on my other hand, and I use it as a relief after each time I inhale this curious creature. I think my nose would've loved it if a sweet note had been added or some of the notes were toned down.

Not a blind buy. If you had any doubt whether this smells like a typical marine scent, let me reassure you that it does not. I also don't think it's suitable for every occasion. You will most probably stand out with this scent and its longevity.

Give it a try, definitely.
*I haven't tried Acqua di Sale, which is what everyone seems to compare Black Sea to

Update: 15 hours later, it's impossible to rinse this demon off. I tried a few times, it's still present.

Lorenzo Pazzaglia … Black Sea
Black Sea is not a refreshing aquatic fragrance in the traditional sense, but rather a "nocturnal sea" with dense layers: cold mineral salinity intertwines with warm resinous smoke.
The result is a mysterious marine mood that walks between fog, wet wood, and gray amber.
The whiffs of the black Lorenzo sea reach the wearer's nose like a shaded citrus flash (bitter orange/bergamot) with a tremor of black pepper and a salty, briny touch that suggests the spray of waves stinging the skin.
The heartbeat then resonates like an actual marine body: seaweed/marine herbs, graceful herbal bitterness (myrtle/rosemary in a fruity-herbaceous form), and a metallic ozone breath.
Here, the fragrance declares its difference: the sea is not just "clean," but alive, pulsating, with the roughness of the waves.
Its base rests on gray amber (suggesting ambroxan/sperm whale amber), labdanum resin, salt-etched woods (cedar/guaiac) with a warm leather trace and light smoke like damp wood starting to ignite.
The equation is: salinity + smoke + amber on a single path, from the cold of beach metals to a mysterious warmth resembling fires on the coast after midnight.
Longevity: 8–10 hours on skin, and may extend longer on fabric.
Sillage: moderate leaning towards strong in the first two hours, then settles into a near-medium aura.
The fragrance line: present and clear in air-conditioned indoor spaces; outdoors, its trace remains attractively salty-woody.
Excellent for summer and spring evenings, and mild autumn nights; in hot summer days, it can be intense if over-sprayed.
Wearing it adds an extra aesthetic touch to outfits like smart-casual and even relaxed formal; it enhances its presence with dark fabrics and clean shirts.
It is for those who want a "mature" marine fragrance that does not resemble clean blue perfumes; more dramatic and profound.
It suits both men and women with a clear masculine leaning.
If you love Pazzaglia's dark works (like the smoky mood in some of his releases) or are intrigued by the idea of an amber night sea, then Black Sea will be your choice.
And if you're looking for a straightforward, refreshing scent for the office, it might be deeper than you want.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths:
A rare salty-smoky signature scent in the "aquatic" category.
A beautiful balance between salty minerals and warm resin; a distinctive character.
Outstanding performance for such a style.
Weaknesses:
The opening's iodine/mineral aspect may seem "brutal" to those seeking a clean, easy-wearing marine scent.
It requires measured doses in extreme heat, and based on my personal experience in the hot climate of my country, Iraq, the suggested spraying method would be three to four sprays (neck, behind the ears, chest/collar) in the evening.
You might also try a light layer underneath the fragrance of "dry citric cologne" if you wish to soften the saltiness during the day.
In the end, I say...
Black Sea by Lorenzo Pazzaglia transforms the sea from a blue postcard into a night stage: saltiness shining like swords, warm smoke, and wood that has rested on the beach for a long time.
A "moody" fragrance with a respectable presence and a clear artistic touch; your choice when you want a sea that speaks in a deep voice, not with refreshing bubbles.

Between Acqua di Sale and Megamare, similarities are correct. Not as potent as depicted. Rather go with the OGs

Cheap smelling designery opening must be suffered through to partake in its surprisingly minty, salty, herbal and powdery deep drydown.
