At MAD Parfumeur, you usually get very good dupes with top performance.
Most of the time, you also know which clone it is when you test the fragrance.
With Pera, it's a little different.
During the first test, I thought, this is
Emporio Armani - Stronger With You.
But during the second wear, it felt more distinctive than I expected.
The fragrance starts with a nice apple note that unfortunately doesn't last long.
After a short time, I smell the pepper, which is very dominant.
At first, everything still seems somewhat fresh.
While the opening is sweet, the apple and lemon still provide a slight freshness.
In the dry down, it becomes much sweeter, fresher than
Emporio Armani - Stronger With You, but still sweet.
Amber is probably responsible for this warming sweetness.
I perceive ginger very strongly after about 5 minutes; together with the peppery notes, this is the most prominent note for me.
In the air, the fragrance gives me very light gingerbread vibes.
So everything is quite spicy, warm, and sweet without being overwhelming.
The SWY DNA remains until the end.
For me, Pera is like a flanker from the Stronger With You line.
"Stronger With You Ginger Pepper" is what it could be called, and this description is actually enough to summarize Pera in one sentence.
The performance is top-notch, like with almost all MADs.
Longevity on my skin is 11-12 hours.
However, I had to go to the bathroom at that point; otherwise, it would have lasted longer, impressive.
The sillage is also top; the SWY cannot even come close.
It's not a beast, but definitely one of the stronger fragrances in my collection.
My conclusion: For me, it's not a pure dupe.
Distinctive but not really unique.
Nonetheless, a good, masculine fragrance that appeals to me.
Fans of the SWY line should definitely give this a try.
Recently, there’s a small MAD store in Cologne where you can go in and ask for Pera or other MADs.
You will surely find one or two treasures there.
