Plastic powder
DISCLAIMER: This review is of a dupe.

I didn't like it, nor did I dislike it.

It was a blind buy, based on people's reviews and on the scent description.

I was a bit disappointed when it arrived, I could barely sniff the white floral scent. It smells extremely powdery to me. On my skin, it ends up as a plasticky, powdery and slightly amber scent. I do think the synthetic vibe I get from it fits its alien label, though.

A Cuckoo's Egg
That I even tested Alien Flora Futura is thanks to my experiences with blind tests. I had found that I could be enthusiastic about a fragrance from the brand Agent Provocateur, from which I knowingly would not have touched any scent, as I found all those tested until then to be horrendous. The same is theoretically true for the Aliens, which in my nose are not only horrendous, but worse, dreadful, unbearable. But I have learned: Thanks to my Agent Provocateur experience, I bravely tested Alien Flora Futura.

And that was a good thing, because I like Alien Flora Futura. I like it so much that I secured a leftover bottle on an auction platform.

Right from the start, I am enveloped by surprisingly friendly, fresh flowers with a fine, naturally occurring sweetness. But typical for me with Mugler's scents, I cannot clearly identify the flowers. The freshness obviously comes from a citrus fruit; I most likely smell mandarin.
In the first few minutes, I then notice a somewhat artificial note, which I also perceive as floral.
Up to that point, it is a very interesting scent for me, unusual, like many of Mugler's, even if not all appeal to me. Alien Flora Futura is not a sweet floral scent that you have smelled a thousand times before, but this mixture of familiar yet strangely foreign flowers has a very special charm.

As a teenager, I was lucky enough to really smell a flower of the Queen of the Night once. It smelled divine and incredibly intense! Even though I can no longer recall this scent experience in detail today, I think I would remember if this or a very similar fragrance came under my nose again.
Here, Queen of the Night is listed in the pyramid, but I do not recognize it.

Ultimately, that doesn't matter. I like Alien Flora Futura even without it reminding me of the scent of a Queen of the Night.
For several hours, the sweet floral quality remains, partly familiar, partly foreign, but always soft and friendly, while a bit of powder joins in the background.
Now I also notice a very specific note that I know from another Mugler scent and that I have not smelled anywhere else. It is just much more subtle than there. I recognize a hint of the green-spicy component of Aura, EDP.
This note remains in the background while the base develops increasingly powdery without becoming stuffy. But I recognize neither sandalwood nor amber. I would rather lean towards a hint of subtle heliotrope.
With good will, the powder is somewhat woody. The sweetness becomes more subtle towards the end.

I personally cannot complain about the longevity. About 7 hours is perfectly fine, I think. The sillage is also quite strong at least initially and only retreats towards the base.
In the end, a powdery residue remains with a slight floral echo and a hint of Aura EDP.

Why do I like an Alien? The question is easily answered: Because this Alien has nothing, in my opinion, nothing at all in common with the other Aliens.

And so this flanker comes to me under a misleading name. It seems to me to be a cuckoo's egg: Aura has smuggled an egg into the Alien's nest.

Edit: Just noticed on a sweatshirt: Even several days after wearing, a slightly floral powder dream with pleasant laundry detergent nuances remains on clothing.

Quiet Steps
So far, all the aliens I know have piqued my interest.

The flankers carried the Alien DNA - yet were still independent.

Flora is indeed independent, but its relationship to the Classic is quite distant.
I did not easily recognize its belonging to the Alien clan.
If it weren't for the significant bottle, I wouldn't have been able to categorize it.

In principle, that doesn't matter, but unfortunately Futura is somewhat interchangeable overall.
It's not a bad scent - quite nice and friendly even.
A bit citrusy, a bit floral, a bit creamy.
But also somewhat indifferent.

I certainly don't need to smell "special" every day, but a little recognizability brings me joy.
I am indeed a fan of often-maligned "nice" scents.
Sometimes I want to smell like that.

But I can't perceive a clear stance or direction in Futura.
Maybe it lies in the future?

P.S. Its mildness is welcome now in summer. It has moved in with me.

An Alien in Spring
What's going on? Dare to speak up, no one is going to hurt you! Doesn't the latest sprout of the alien family deserve a few more thoughts than just a few statements? Well, for my part, I really had to think a lot, or rather, I had to, because this flower from outer space (of course, I immediately thought of the film classic "Invasion of the Body Snatchers") has quite confused me. What does Flora Futura have to do with aliens, apart from the admittedly charming powder-pink bottle?
If I hadn't known the bottle or the name, I would have been inclined to think of the scent as a Guerlain from the Allegoria line, especially since this year's offerings also venture into new dimensions that no human has seen before (lol).
But with the prior information that AFF is an alien product, I naturally had certain expectations. Which were not met.
AFF is so far removed from Alien-Mom that I can hardly detect any relation. A DNA test would certainly come back negative.
Another solar system, basically.
A very fresh, green-lemony top note reminds me of some summer fragrances, it doesn't smell natural, but still pleasant. An intense, rather gourmand opening experience. Then:
The scent starts to wobble, like a launched spaceship, becoming soapy-orange blossom and then again sour-green. One might want to interpret it as sparkling floral dew, but with an at times almost breath-taking, woody-balsamic heaviness in the background. Aura has this indefinable intense green note too, but it suits it better.
At no time is the scent sweet or powdery, soft, warm, or floral-oriental... like the mother. Anything but.
But - and that's a good thing - also not so strong.
If I liked green, fruity spring floral scents, I might warm up to it more. But I'm not the right person for that.
It reminds me of a 90s fragrance I once had (can't recall the name right now), and also of the old Kenzo Parfum d' Eté.
An alien in spring; still interesting and innovative enough to have a place in the universe of aliens, even if it’s just Codo the Third from the center of the stars.

Edit: I used Vintage Boudoir yesterday morning, the old panty dropper, and sprayed AFF "only" on free spots at noon. 24/18 hours later... Boudoir ...hello! AFF ...no trace.

The Aliens Want to Appear Cleaner and Fresher
Ah, I love testing the Alien fragrances. Thanks to a dear friend who is into perfume, I've been able to try quite a few flankers from this fantastic fragrance line and rave about how wonderful these scents are on women, at least in my opinion :D

And I continue to try all sorts of Alien (and Angel) flankers that I can get my hands on. With the newer ones, of course, I have the same problem as with all other popular or at least well-known brands… it’s incredibly difficult for me to test these fragrances myself… no matter if I could say, in case I got caught (while spraying), that I was looking for a scent for a friend… it just feels somehow awkward, as you know from me *sigh*

So I had a few minor difficulties with this scent as well. I made the mistake of going to the store quite early, so the shop was rather empty, and therefore there were even more employees who were practically piercing the few customers with their stares instead of advising them. And these Thierry Mugler fragrances were in the cashier's line of sight, and… I swear… she was staring at me the whole time… with a really stern look!!! You know, I had to stand there like a statue in front of the Alien fragrances for what felt like an eternity until finally a customer went to the register, thus distracting the cashier's gaze from me. That was finally my chance to quickly spray my arm and hastily retreat to another corner of the store :D

Well, now I’ve tested this scent here, just in time for the beginning of spring (even if there’s still snow everywhere :D).

The Scent:
The scent starts off quite nicely with a fresh and refreshing lemon. Then the fragrance gives a very clean impression and even smells a bit like fresh laundry, which comes across even better on a paper strip than on the skin. After that, you can smell a jasmine-like sweetness, which definitely reminds one of all the other Alien scents. The DNA of these fragrances is certainly present, but it’s harder to recognize in this flanker.
I don’t even know what the Queen of the Night smells like. I don’t even know who this queen is, let alone that she would ever let me near her to sniff her and… oh… ah… okay, the so-called Queen of the Night isn’t even a person… but a plant… :DD And a very special, fascinating cactus plant that only blooms once a year for a few hours! They say it emits a beautiful vanilla scent. And that seems to be true, because here you can definitely perceive a light vanilla note, albeit quite subtle. But it’s good that the vanilla is light here, as it pairs well with the other airy fragrance notes, keeping the scent fresh. Additionally, you can smell general, spring-like light flowers.
In any case, the scent remains floral-fresh in the base, but still a bit citrusy. The sweetness here isn’t as intensely pronounced as in other Alien fragrances, making it very suitable for spring. The only thing that bothers me is a slightly synthetic note, which unfortunately seems to be in vogue at the moment, as almost all new mainstream fragrances have a distinctly noticeable synthetic quality, which I find quite unfortunate…
However, this synthetic note seems to fade significantly in the later base, as the scent then becomes sweet-floral and powdery, remaining quite pleasant.

The Sillage and Longevity:
When it comes to sillage, one shouldn't think that it is as strong as most Alien fragrances. The projection of this scent is rather moderate, so you need to be close to smell it.
The longevity is about six to eight hours. However, the scent becomes weaker in the later hours.

The Bottle:
There’s nothing to criticize about the bottle, as always. It features the spaceship-like, futuristic bottle shape of the original Alien fragrances, only this time in a light, lovely pink hue, which looks fantastic alongside the well-known golden design elements. The alien-like font is also displayed on the front, showcasing the name of the fragrance in a cool way. A very beautiful bottle!

So, I like the Alien fragrances. Even if most women today might roll their eyes when a man says he loves the Alien scents, most of these fragrances just smell delightful on you ladies, even if the heyday of Aliens might be gradually coming to an end. I believe I started calling you ladies bite-worthy in my comments thanks to the Alien fragrances back then :D

Anyway, I find this scent to be quite okay as a fragrance itself, but: In my opinion, as an Alien scent, it ranks among the more mediocre Alien flankers, as it doesn’t have anything extraordinary about it and comes off as a nicely made 0815 scent, with which one could hardly go wrong, but only if the price were significantly cheaper. It fits in with the similarly mediocre but still nicely crafted Sunessence editions of this line. But don’t get me wrong: As a floral spring scent, this one is really nice, but as an Alien scent, it’s a bit weak. But maybe you’ll like it better? I would definitely recommend trying it :)

However, this Alien flanker seems to have a somewhat noticeable synthetic note, which brings the scent down a bit, as you’re not used to such a strong synthetic quality from Alien. Although this (the synthetics) isn’t as extreme as in some other fragrances, and fortunately decreases significantly in the later base, making the scent more pleasant again, you can still notice it, especially in the heart note.

Unfortunately, this noticeable synthetics trend seems to be in vogue with almost all new flankers of well-known fragrances at the moment, whether it’s the new Armani scents (like the new Si Passione), Dior with Homme Sport, or whatever else, these synthetic notes seem to be used so much that they unfortunately drag the fragrances down significantly. To be honest, I preferred the Oud boom back then, where every new flanker had to contain Oud!

So, you might want to take a look at this one… but if you’re looking for a really good and also summer-appropriate Alien scent, you should check out the, in my opinion, quite successful Alien Eau Sublime or Aqua Chic 2013 (if you can still get your hands on it), as these fragrances are really well-made aliens for warmer days! And which also make you ladies… well… deliciously bite-worthy yammi yammi (mu ha ha ha, I had to say this again, it’s just the Alien tradition :D :D)!

Nothing new and special from the future: this scent is pleasant, but a little poor, also synthetic. The product doesn't justify the price

It can't get worse. Cheap drugstore junk without any alien DNA. Must be a distant relative. Unfortunately good, can't stand this stuff.

A slightly diluted version of Alien. Some citrus, wood, and floral/sweet notes. Feels very inconsistent to me.

My dearly beloved Dior Addict (2002) also has -Queen of the Night- as a prominent note.. So this Alien can't be bad at all!!

Initially similar to Aura EdT, it then becomes a better Alien - stronger, longer-lasting, edgier, more citrusy, but the base is similar. Great!
