An other Angel for sure
I got this gem today, and really is very nice, fresh, crisp, spicy but not heavy. Perfect perfume when is hot and humid. The more the body heats the more the perfume evolves. Reminds me a lot of the lagoon sunessence Angel which I also have. Thank goodness is far similar to the original Angel which is misty and suffocating. The bottle is very nice, sillage medium and longevity excellent for an etd. Once again stuck with Mugler's perfume. I can't help it. I am addicted.

Angel Aqua Chic 2013
I am loving this! A fantastic fragrance for the warmer season. I spritzed this on and went over to my friends place to walk her dog. It was hot and I was sweating but the more my body heated up, the better this beauty smelled on me. The patchouli is blended so nicely with the other notes. Even though I do like patchouli, sometimes it can be a little overbearing but that's not the case with this perfume. It's light, soft, airy, fresh and aloof but still manages to maintain a certain classy appeal. Wearing it is a truly pleasant experience. Personally, I think this fragrance easily stands on its own merits, away from the original Angel which I am admittedly not a fan of. When I first tested this fragrance at the store I was pleasantly surprised and relieved that it was nowhere near as offensive to my nose as I find the original Angel to be. They did a great job creating this scent and I believe they achieved their goal of the perfect summertime perfume.

Apple Angel
Angel Aqua Chic 2013 hits the skin with a strong, herbal and raw patchouli along with sparkling and crisp green apple. However, it soon dries down into a creamy rose and vanilla decorated with sour apple and berries, and the patchouli mellows and hides behind the creamy curtain. I find it closer to Eau de Star than Angel, as patchouli and vanilla in this version doesn't create a chocolate-y aroma like in Angel. The longevity is around 6 or 7 hours and the sillage is close. Overall it's refreshing and a good option as a non-aquatic spring and summer fragrance. I don't think it'll be offensive unless overapplied. However, I still suggest testing before buying as I find the patchouli for the first few minutes can still be quite strong for some tastes.

The Fruity Angel....
Aqua Chic 2013 by Thierry Mugler is ready to launch, just a few days until the release in Germany, reason enough for a comment on the first of the series:

Angel Aqua Chic 2013

Even though the name is the same as last year and the packaging offers only slight differences: The fragrance is new.
So is the bottle, which has also been slightly modified.

Angel Aqua Chic (AAC) is designed for summer, lighter, smaller sillage, not so heavy fragrance components.

And AAC does this quite well.

Right after spraying, it reveals its very fruity side, the pyramid indicates apple sorbet and raspberry blossom, but to me, it smells more like nectarines with a hint of apple.
I can already detect the rose water, which becomes more pronounced a few minutes later.

After about 10 minutes, the patchouli subtly comes through, still quite discreet and not as prominent as in the original.
For me, the fruit is quite dominant, although the fragrance itself is not to be classified as dominant, which is usually the case with Mugler.

After about an hour, the scent moves towards the classic Angel, the patchouli intensifies, the vanilla comes out more, the base is creamy-gourmand.
However, not so intense.
The rose water has also managed to find its way - now subtly - into the base, the fruit is still there (now mainly the apple), but it no longer plays a leading role.

Somewhere in the entire scent progression, there is also something fresh to be detected, but not as intensely as in Aqua Chic 2012, which went much more in the fresh direction.

AAC is a solid, beautiful Angel summer fragrance.
For Angel fans, it is definitely a nice, lighter, and more wearable alternative, even for the cold season when it shouldn’t be too overpowering.
People who are neutral towards Angel should definitely give AAC a try, it might appeal to you!

The sillage is rather poor for Mugler - but for a summer fragrance, it is really okay, because that is exactly what a summer fragrance aims for: Not to stand out too much, not to hit too hard, but to smell quite pleasant.

And this Angel flanker achieves that with flying colors!

It's not always what it says on the label
When I look at the name and the fragrance pyramid, I hope for a fresh and aquatic scent for the hopefully soon-to-arrive summer. Warned by the previous comments, I lower my expectations a bit and curiously start testing. I really like the original Angel and used it for a long time until I eventually got tired of it. Still, it remains a good memory.

This fragrance starts with a fresh, fruity apple note. Initially, it is only slightly aromatic, rather diluted. After a short while, it gains intensity and reminds me of chilled apple juice. A honey-like, floral sweetness joins in, which must be the raspberry blossom. Occasionally, a cinnamon-spicy note wafts through. At first, I thought of the cassia blossom, but it must be patchouli that becomes stronger and stronger. The apple lingers throughout the scent development for a long time, slowly fading away (but only in the base). I perceive the rose water as delicate and smooth. Minimally powdery and otherwise rather unbalanced, but still feminine. In the heart note, patchouli is even more intense and gives a considerable density that, for me, does not fit a summery fragrance. Overall, only the first few minutes of the top note are fresh and light. I like the base the most: beautifully creamy due to vanilla, which does not come across as synthetic or cookie-like at all, and the strong patchouli provides oriental accents that are quite sexy.

The longevity is astonishing. After ten hours, the scent has still not faded and envelops me in a pleasant, warm veil with every movement. The sillage is also better than expected and is, for me, above average.

Definitely a good choice for spring or autumn. In the height of summer, I would not want to wear this scent at all; it would be too compact for me. Maybe only on mild summer evenings, because from 25 degrees upwards, the fragrance will surely become unpleasant. At work, I received several compliments, so I don't think the perfume disturbs a harmonious atmosphere. Otherwise, it fits perfectly into everyday life, leisure, and even during sports, it doesn’t bother me. Those who want to wear the scent for going out in the summer evenings will certainly not be negatively noticed.

Despite the sweetness and fruity notes, in my opinion, it is not a teenage scent, as the fragrance presents itself very sensually and I think it is best suited for women from their early twenties.

Anyone who does not like patchouli and rose will most likely not be happy with this fragrance. For all Angel lovers and fans of gourmand scents, it is a lovely flanker that you must definitely try.

Angel Aqua Chic only gets 80 percent from me because I hoped for more freshness and generally aquatic notes. If I had an unlimited budget for perfumes, it would already be among my other treasures by tomorrow. ;-)

Addendum 22.05.2014:
The interesting patchouli-fruit-vanilla mélange simply couldn't let me go. The fragrance has a very positive effect on me, lifts my spirits, and somehow feels very cozy. Yes, I love gourmand, hence my nickname. And this scent really touches me. Now, a year after this comment, it has made its way into my collection; somehow, I couldn't forget it. It was often said that it suits me well. By the way, it's one of the few samples that I consistently squeezed until the end without giving them away beforehand. If that isn't a criterion for a top score and a place in the beloved perfume cabinet! :D

Does anyone still have this? Rome, 2013, heat and Aqua Chic. It brings up berry-sweet emotions. It was the most beautiful at sunset.

Angel DNA is only slightly recognizable now - as a patch-gourmand combo. Similar sweetness to the original, but milder and mainly fruity. Summer evening!
