Elegance on a budget

I bought this scent after reading online that it was a dupe for Oriana by Parfums de Marly and Killian Love Don’t be shy. I compared the scent profiles of both Oriana and Ansaam Gold, and there wasn’t so much similarity, but when I sprayed both, I could barely tell the difference until the dry down. On initial spray, it smells like sweet florals from the candy, raspberry, and jasmine. Because of the blend of the middle and base notes, it smells like there is a marshmallow accord. Ansaam Gold's dry down is not as sweet as Oriana's. I wore it yesterday, layered with Al Rehab soft roll on perfume oil, and the performance was far above average. I got a whiff of the scent at the end of the day, but keep in mind that I am not a light sprayer. Overall, it smells very similar to Oriana but costs a fraction of the price, so if you're looking for a more affordable alternative, this is it!

Great dupe for PDM Oriana
This is probably one of my favorite perfumes to come out of Lattafa. I’ve tried, owned, and decluttered quite a few of their fragrances, but this is one is just too good to not have. Yes, it’s a dupe for the very popular fragrance PDM Oriana, but I think it’s way better for the price point and resemblance.

Ansaam Gold is a *sweet* candy like fragrance, with a touch of citrus, florals, and a hint of powder. It’s delicious, it’s addictive, it’s fun, flirty, and super duper girly. This is for anyone that’s into super sweet and feminine fragrances. While I enjoy a good unisex fragrance, I do have my days when I want to smell and feel hyper-feminine. I was scared that the fragrance was going to come off synthetic because of the sweet notes, but there is no synthetic vibe here at all. It’s very well blended and performs really well. It’s soft enough to be be an everyday or signature scent, and is versatile for all seasons, day or night. I think it’s quite great on its own, but it could also layer well with other scents to add some sweetness as well. I feel like it can also be easily oversprayed without it being unbearable or overpowering.

I got this from Triple Traders for like $35 and I feel like this should cost more than what it does. Lattafa did a wonderful job with this dupe and if you haven’t already, definitely give it a try!

Edit: I’ve since declutterred my bottle because the scent is too sweet for me and I’m not crazy about the overall scent profile, but it’s still an amazing, affordable dupe.

Love Don't Be Shy's Cotton Candy Cousin
Ansaam Gold is beautiful in many ways. First of all, as is the case for so many from the Lataffa Pride collection, the box itself is beautiful. The second you remove the top of the box, you are greeted with the glimmering gold detailing against a beautiful deep red backing and bottle. This is one of the most beautiful bottles from Lataffa that I have personally seen. Often, in my opinion, the bottles can become borderline tacky in appearance (Maahir Legacy immediately comes to mind), but Ansaam Gold is far from that standard.

Smelling Ansaam Gold for the first time felt like ringing a faint bell of memory. The feeling that it elicited was that of girlhood, of sweetness and softness, of delicate cotton candy at the local fair.

I unfortunately have never smelled Oriana but I HAVE smelled Love Don't Be Shy many times. It is my opinion that Ansaam Gold is definitely in the same scent family as LDBS but is most definitely not a dupe. Where LDBS leans heavily into the hard candy scent note, really leaning towards a grape hard candy scent profile to my nose, I find that Ansaam Gold smells more like cotton candy than hard candy. For this reason, I really prefer Ansaam to LDBS personally.

In my experience, this scent profile is something that men tend to love and be attracted to and women can often be irritated by or find to be "too sweet" or cloying. My husband, for example, is obsessed with LDBS and thus is very drawn to Ansaam Gold as well. He rants and raves about how good I smell when wearing it, and all the compliments I receive on it tend to be from men. So take that into account if that's something that matters to you.

All in all, Ansaam Gold has plenty of bang for your buck. Normally I wouldn't suggest wearing something so sweet in the spring or summer but I do think Ansaam Gold is an exception because of the underlying freshness. Maybe just under-spray a little until the weather gets cooler to avoid a headache. :)

Marshmallow fluff
I have never smelled Oriana by Parfums de Marly, after which this is supposedly modelled, but I can confirm that Ansaam Gold is in the same wheelhouse as Love, Don’t be Shy by Kilian, the OG of this particular scent DNA (very little being genuinely original in perfumery). If you like that sweet, orange blossom-scented marshmallow fluff kind of scent, then Ansaam Gold is precisely that and there is no real need to buy a niche variant for $200-300 more. I was going to add ‘unless you’re actively trying to avoid the garish-looking bottle of the Lattafa’ when I remembered that the Parfums de Marly bottles are equal in the eyesore stakes.

I don’t personally aspire to smelling like a fluffy, orange-y marshmallow but Ansaam Gold is not bad either. It is just a little too cute and girlish for it to be something I reach for more than once a year. I will say, however, that there is a powdery, woody nag champa note in here that is missing in the By Kilian scent, and that this is a marked improvement, as it tamps down the syrupy sweetness of that childish orange blossom note to a bearable degree.

Red and Gold Elegance
I can't help but think this smells exactly like the bottle. The red and white flowers definitely push through, but there's also a slight juiciness to it without making it sweet - almost as if you made candy out of rosewater or something.
I consider it to be pretty flexible in terms of usage, but it has to have an elegant flair. Today I wore it with my favorite biker jacket and matching boots, but the jacket was in burgundy velvet and I had my biggest gold earrings on, ya know? On the other hand, if I had decided to dress down in a deep red turtleneck and black slacks, carrying a copy of Dead Poets Society, it would also have worked.

This scent has a flair to it, but also becomes what you want it to be in a way. This is my most surprising blind-buy of 2025 so far.

Yum! On me a lovely, intoxicating scent of bergamot, white petals, powdery candy hearts and vanilla. Both sensual & demure. I want a backup!

Not too sweet on my skin, somehow I tend to pull the florals more, but it's a reliable scent I tend to use for work more than leisure.
