Sage's Rose Tsu Lange Yor 2025

A dark rose scent where all the notes work really well together. It's most resinous and sweet in the opening with a blend of sweet myrrh, and leathery labdanum. The rose here smells heady and realistic and it doesn't lean strongly into the geranium (or whatever the corn rose is providing). I know I have smelled this scent profile before and I soon realized it has many similarities to Oud Satin Mood Eau de Parfum and Velvet Rose & Oud Cologne Intense. Despite the lack of oud, I find this really woody in the dry down. Not only from the gaiac and vetiver, but also the patchouli, which is earthy in the way patchouli incense smells. Sage's Rose smells like the more carefree counterpart to the sophisticated vibe of Satin Mood and Velvet Rose. It's a really well balanced fragrance and it strikes me as a throwback to the early 2010s when rose-patchouli fragrances like this were really popular.

I fell in love with her at first sniff. Within a week, I'd ordered the 10ml, and within another week, I'd thrown my hands in the air and ordered the full bottle (despite having just had a serious conversation with myself about my perfume spending habits).

For me, I get a sherbety rose with caramelised sugar and myrrh. The rose immediately reminded me of the one in Portrait of a Lady, but the two scents remain starkly different. Sage's rose has a sweet base that seems to do it all for me; slightly warm and cozy from the amber, slightly mysterious and herbal (maybe from the other florals?), and slightly bold (from the woods and myrrh).

Sage's Rose leans traditionally feminine, but I think it would be lovely on a man too. It's a bit youthful, but not in a dewy, innocent way. The sugar note being more caramelised and balanced by woods and resinous notes seems to give a grounded, "knows what she wants" edge, while still maintaining something that feels flirty and playful. When it's warm, I like to pump up the rose/freshness by layering with Diptyque Eau Rose EDP, but I don't think this is necessary - It's probably classically more of a cooler weather scent, but I've found it enjoyable year-round.

I've seen a lot of people remark that this has great sillage and longevity, so I'm not sure if it's just my skin, but to me, they're about moderate. I find it seems to only last half the day before I'm inclined to reapply, and I've only had those around me notice it during a hug, or very soon after application. Sadly, this has meant I have really ripped through my full bottle, because I find it absolutely perfect for almost any occasion, and I know it won't take over a room! One of my favourites in my collection.

Absolutely adore this scent- its sweetness is addicting, the myrrh and labdanum ground the scent but lets it shine. The rose is a modern bright and present rose- a far cry from the powdery roses you can find. If rose omeyyade, bast and radical rose had a Gen Z daughter, Sage’s Rose would be it . 10/10 for me- Frank Voekl and TLY put their foot in this!!

For those of you that have smelled Radical Rose Eau de Parfum, which is a deep, dark, red rose to my nose, you can imagine Sage's Rose as the the yang to Radical Rose's yin. They're mirror twins with Radical Rose being rich and dark and Sage's Rose being right and bright.

This is not a pink, girly rose. This is a rich red rose that's in bright sunlight. Vibrant and vivid. The patchouli lends a very boozy component to the fragrance.

As others have said, it does turn resinous but the evolution to that point takes hours and hours. It's a long-evolving, complex perfume. And so good!
