Wujood by Zimaya - A Real Hidden Gem
Wujood by Zimaya is a fragrance that surprises with its unique scent and impressive performance, all at a ridiculous price (€16). This makes it a true hidden gem in the world of fragrances.

Some people refer to it as a dupe of "5 - Floral, Amber, Sensual Musk | Rosendo Mateu - Olfactive Expressions" , but since I've never smelled that fragrance myself, I can't comment further on the matter. In my little world, Wujood stands as a standalone scent.

Wujood opens with a fascinating blend of spices and floral notes, accompanied by a vanillary creamy sweetness. The floral notes resemble those of lilies of the valley, while the spiciness mainly comes from a decent amount of saffron and a hint of nose-tingling pepper.

The floral notes dissipate rather quickly, leaving behind a wonderful saffron mixed in a vanilla-amber-musk pudding, while balsamic notes (resin and incense) gain prominence over time.

The fragrance has good projection in the first 2 hours; afterward, the balsamic dimension loses some strength, and the scent trail diminishes accordingly. After about 4-5 hours, only the saffron-vanilla with slightl smoky incense nuances remains, until the fragrances finally fades after a total of about 8-9 hours.

For my taste, these balsamic and vanilla notes simultaneously create a suede accord that blends beautifully with the composition giving the drydown a refined touch.

Due to its pleasant, sweet, and musky scent profile, Wujood is versatile: suitable for both men and women, best worn between early autumn and late spring (if not over-sprayed), and suitable for almost any occasion.

The WORST in my 80 frags collection!
Let me make it kind of short:
Opening, like snorting the driest black pepper powder next to a vase of dead, 20 days old flowers, with an unlit vanilla scented candle in the other room.

Dry-down: about the same, but add 30% of a plastic doll factory smell.

This is definitely on me, as I blind bought it because I thought it's another nice vanilla scent to share between my wife and I. We both lost our appetite for about 4 hours after we tried it out.

Longevity and projection are very good (unfortunately). Be careful this is hyper-niche... Not remotely a crowd pleaser, nor seductive, nor playful, or sweet... Just very weird.

On the plus side, the quality of the bottle, cap, atomizer, and box is VERY high. Magnetic closure for the box. Amazing bottle, and overall great presentation. Wish I could easily empty it to use it for a good vanilla fragrance.

I am here
I open up my heart, you can love me or not
There's no such thing as sin, let it all come right in
I wanna make some mistakes, I wanna sleep in the mud
I wanna swim in the flood, I wanna fuck 'til I'm done
I like whiskey on ice, I like sun in my eyes
I wanna burn it all down, so let's start a fire
I wanna be lost, so lost that I'm found
Naked and laughing with my blood on the ground
-----
To be alive, with everything that comes with it. Avoid nothing out of false caution. “Wujood/ وجود” means existence, presence, being, presence, current state, existence, essence, life. What does it mean for me to be truly present and alive? Yes, making mistakes is part of life - otherwise I would never learn anything. To surrender to (possibly dangerous) floods in order to swim freely. Enjoying good sex, feeling the sun in my eyes. Sometimes I also have the impulse to burn down or blow up everything that is going wrong or serves more to stagnation than to life (mostly without giving in to the impulse). And to be truly found by another soul - perhaps I can only do that if I give myself up to being lost, if I fully give myself to life with all its risks, all its finiteness, all its sorrow, all its pain. It can go terribly wrong, so that I find myself on the ground, at the end of all strength. Life is beautiful, it begins as an unfathomable vulnerable miracle, and it is often terrible, it hurts so much, it is so sad.

This fragrance strengthens me without sugarcoating. Existential orientalism, so to speak. It is very present and for long stretches, especially at the beginning, not exactly delicate, yet from the second half unfolds a soft-spicy-powdery gentleness that I find comforting and gracious. The strong opening is quite spicy with pepper and strong saffron. You have to like that; I personally enjoy saffron with its slightly sharp-medical note. For long stretches, a dry-warm-spicy sweetness dominates the impression, with smoky resins in both lighter (Elemi) and darker (frankincense) versions. I also detect something leathery. The saffron remains quite present for a long time. Later, a balsamic-spicy-dry-powdery amber base emerges, becoming a bit more vanilla in the drydown, which I really like. There is some synthetic quality, but it is well integrated. Unfortunately, not for those averse to saffron. Definitely great in heat too! And a very affordable price (currently around €20).

I am here, I am here
I've already seen the bottom, so there's nothing to fear
I know that I'll be ready when the devil is near
I am here, I am here
The quotes are from P!nk: I am here. Here sung by her:

Has nothing to do with cats!...
.... nor with floral amber or gold-embroidered shoes. It is a fragrance that radiates hot coolness. Or spicy vanilla, sprinkled with pepper and flambéed with saffron, while cool incense joins forces with resins that in turn contain some amber, whose warmth transforms the coolness from the musk into a winter coat. Complicated?
Not really! Because the perfume is not static; it moves within itself.
At times one note takes the lead, and at other times another. This results in interesting "sniffs" as all sides come to the forefront and/or recede into the background. Similar to a wind chime, whose sound tubes remain the same but produce many different melodies.
Since the spice is always very present here-alongside the vanilla and smoky woods-this is a scent that I find more suitable for the cooler, darker seasons. Or it can also be worn on cool summer evenings. In spring, I don’t think it fits well, as there are hardly any "fresh," green notes or flowers present. Very oriental and strong-and lasts a long time.

The Second Chance
It has now been sitting in the cupboard for almost a year. While going through my fragrances, my gaze fell on this one again after a long time. Why not, I thought. The season fits, and every fragrance deserves a second chance.

I find it not as terrible as I did at the beginning when I ordered it blind. Whether it's due to maturation or if my nose has developed further, I cannot say for sure. This one certainly has a very oriental touch, primarily due to a synthetic saffron note combined with a decent portion of vanilla, creating an intense and heavy fragrance experience.

The whole thing is probably held together by the resinous note, as the H|S are indeed quite remarkable. I don't perceive any medicinal notes, but it does evoke wintery feelings.

As already mentioned, it is now significantly more pleasant for my nose, but I can say with certainty that this combination simply does not correspond to my fragrance preference. I have already noticed this with "Rifaaqat / رفاقات | Paris Corner," which goes in a similar direction. Nevertheless, I prefer "Wujood / وجود | Zimaya," and I am convinced that many out there will like it, as the positive reviews suggest, and maybe it will get a third chance next Christmas ;).

First impression: Creamy-sweet vanilla with saffron & pepper, extra soft base due to musk + amber. Drydown has a resinous dimension to it.

Very sweet and spicy vanilla. Saffron/Incense/Musk unfortunately a little musty/stale. Dry down floral notes & vanilla.

Very sexy with an exotic combination. At first it's quite confusing but the evolution is surprising and it's wonderful thanks to the vanilla

I'm trapped in a perpetual motion of creamy vanilla and a bargain price, which has led to ruthlessly decadent use. Insane cheapy!!

Spiced vanilla - saffron-infused! Peppercorns - blessed by smoke. Resinous amber on a delicate musk bed. A strong winter warmer from the Orient.

A good scent for a man over 70 - I like men's scents, but this one is just too spicy/peppery for me! #gentlemanscent
