Is it expensive? Well, it smells like!

I like Oud perfumes where the quality of the ingredients is always recognisable. The price usually goes hand in hand with the quality. I've never had a number of these perfumes because I have to pay the high prices that are always asked. I've always liked Oud Satin Mood. Kurkdjian's style is very evident in it. I'm the proud owner of a 50 ml bottle and I try to save it as much as possible.
Naturally, I've tried many oud scents tentatively inspired by it, but I've never been entirely satisfied with the results... until now. Despite all recommendations against blind purchases, I ordered Zimaya Impulse Oud. And as the name suggests, I decided to buy it on impulse.
Right from the opening, I realise that it's a different kind of rose oud because of its remarkable softness. The rose and vanilla appear as an orange glow painted in pastel colours, just as an oriental rose should be. Is it the influence of violet? Well, it doesn't smell like candy-like sweet violets at all. The scent is radiant and never vulgarly gourmand. As the fragrance progresses, Impulse Oud becomes sweeter and perhaps more feminine. However, its beauty also manages to grow. The woody notes are never too prominent and appear hand in hand with the amber and benzoin chords.
The result is surprising. It is "probably" very close to its inspiration. I only write "probably" because I don't care now whether this Zimaya is similar or not to the Kurkdjian's fragrance. I like it for its attributes.

Powdery rose, freshness, musk

This fragrance is a very special one with extreme sillage and recognition value. When you enter a room, Impulse Oud is sure to attract attention. It is a blend of powdery rose, floral elegance, freshness and a hint of musk. The longevity of this fragrance is extremely good - two to three sprays are enough to make the entire room smell of this perfume for several hours. The perfume develops on the skin in the same way as on clothing - so there is no real difference in scent here. An absolute favorite!

MFK Oud Satin Mood Alternative in fresh

There are now countless Oud Satin Mood Eau de Parfum alternatives on the market, some do it well, others not so much.
Impulse Oud is one of the better alternatives.
You don't get a 1:1 dupe here, but you can still clearly recognize the OSM DNA.
It is always a little difficult to estimate how close such an alternative is to the original in percentage terms.
Nevertheless, I would say that if you smell the fragrance on your skin it is probably 75% and in the air Zimaya is 85-90% similar to the original.

But now to the most important thing, the fragrance.
The start is quite alcoholic, I almost had to cough.
If you give it a minute, you notice a synthetic violet benzoin note that doesn't remind me so much of OSM at first.
The opening is definitely fresher and more floral than the original, which other alternatives do much better, but they also easily cost twice or three times as much.

In general, the fragrance is clearly fresher than the OSM, which is also noticeable in the DD.
So if you're looking for a fresher alternative, this is the one for you.
I don't like the opening that much, I have to say.
After a few minutes, you notice a rose that you know from OSM.
But here, too, it is much fresher, more synthetic and not as "sticky" as in the original.
The rose here is already somewhat feminine, but fortunately the fragrance does not drift too much into the feminine, the very prominent benzoin note prevents this.

"Oud" is also listed here, but I personally don't notice it that much, if at all it hides in the background

Amber, on the other hand, is more prominent and provides a pleasant, warming sweetness.
Nevertheless, even towards the end, the fragrance never becomes as sweet as its role model.
Soapy rose, benzoin, sweet amber and a spiciness that is minimally reminiscent of oud dominate the fragrance.

The performance is strong.
Lasts 9-10 hours on my skin and the radiance is also very good.
Other alternatives are also more convincing here, but for 14-15 euros this is complaining at a high level.

Definitely unisex wearable and more for colder days.
It works very well below 20 degrees.

There's not much more to say here.
A solid fragrance for a small price.
If you don't know the original, you should probably buy a bottling first, because Impulse Oud is not that safe.
If you know OSM, I would probably advise you to buy a 10 euro more expensive dupe from Lattafa.
Nevertheless, I would say Impulse Oud is worth the money and Zimaya could easily charge three times as much.
