First of all, I have to say that I had a great experience in the LV store. I was able to test at my leisure and even received a handful of samples at the end.

I mainly tested the usual suspects like Imagination Afternoon Swim L'Immensité etc. without giving much thought to the rest. After umpteen fragrances, you won't know up from down anyway.

Thank goodness the LV Lovers was included in the samples. When I sprayed it on at home, I was just blown away. I knew if I bought an LV it would be this one. It's so extraordinary and crazy that it's incredibly cool again.

Right from the start, you're hit with a fierce citrus, from the spicy ginger on the one hand and the bitter bergamot on the other. So tart that it makes my hair stand on end. Imagine putting a piece of fresh ginger and lemon in your mouth and chewing on it. The whole thing is carried in the base by woods, which give the fragrance the necessary balance and warmth and make it incredibly balanced.

The longevity is wicked. 3 days later, I still had it clearly on my shirt and could still detect it, albeit slightly. For my part, I therefore feel the durability is severely underrated.

The sillage, on the other hand, is good but more moderate and that's a good thing, otherwise the irritation would blow my fuses.

Conclusion: An absolutely crazy fragrance that suits my craziness perfectly. If you too are crazy enough, then definitely check it out.

I am in love with Lovers

I had the French Collection as a sample set and had some interesting new experiences. One surprise was the Grasse - Fleur de Provence of which I expected little and got a lot.

In the opening, it is very much somewhere between Godolphin and Tuscan Leather Eau de Parfum. A sweetness of blackberry and a spicy, leathery note, just like the two mentioned. As I'm a big fan of leather fragrances, I was already tempted. But since I already knew that Birkholz puts its own stamp on everything, there had to be more to come and I was not disappointed.

The further I got into the drydown, the more green notes emerged. Oh wow, how does that fit together, some of you may be asking yourself now? It goes really well! It's a tart, herbaceous leather note that is really very pleasantly comforting.

Anyone who is familiar with the longevity of the fragrances already mentioned will know that it lasts well. This one doesn't disappoint either and lasts longer than average.

Conclusion: If you want to experience leather in a different way, you may be surprised by the Grasse - Fleur de Provence.

A well-known classic that is timelessly beautiful. I love tea, which is why I like to drink a lot and often. The tea note is really beautifully realized in this fragrance. Like a homemade iced tea made from green tea with a splash of lemon. A perfect freshi for the summer. I don't necessarily think it can be assigned to a gender and I also like wearing it as a man.

If I could change 2 things, they would definitely be:

1) The bottle. The spray neck is exposed, the bottle is unwieldy and the plastic lid is inferior. It doesn't do the fragrance justice at all.
2) the H|S

I already know that savings have to be made somewhere to justify the price. But I would be prepared to pay considerably more if these two points were improved. I am convinced that the rating would also be much better if the packaging was right, because as we all know, the eye eats too.

I think I've found one of my favorite summer fragrances. A straight 10, that's how I felt about the opening. Incredibly beautiful natural ginger notes kissed by pepper. As if embraced by happiness, I lay on the couch to enjoy this fragrance.

But wait, what's going on here all of a sudden? The further I get into the drydown, the more disappointed and grim my mood becomes. The indescribable notes become increasingly dull and pale until they are barely recognizable at the end. Instead, the myrrh and the wood seem to gain the upper hand and suddenly I go from bright sunshine to summer rain.

If this opening were maintained throughout, I could overlook the mediocre H|S. In this case, it's honestly not enough for me.

Conclusion: Never before have my joy and frustration been so close together.

Here we have a representative of the aquatic summer fragrances. As soon as I sprayed it on, the top notes reminded me of my vintage Acqua di Giò pour Homme Eau de Toilette (please read my review). If you compare the top notes, you will also notice one or two similarities. In the drydown, however, Corsica - Baiser de la Mer has brought its own interpretation of the DNA and also allows the plum and sandalwood their glorious hours. The salty note is also slightly perceptible. For me, however, it could have been much more intense for the wow effect. Maybe something for Corsica Extreme? Philip I'll gladly take commission. H|S were ok, but they didn't quite convince me.

Conclusion: This fragrance certainly has its fans. However, I would have hoped for that certain something.
